1. Is there a difference between Prayer and Supplication?

In Islam both terms can be confusing. They can be the same and also differentiated. The obligatory Salah (prayer) is compulsory on all Muslims who are matured and sane five times daily and it involves standing, bowing and putting the head on the floor in worship. This Salah (prayer) contains Supplications said at each positions.
At other times both can be the same.

Islam originated from Ishmael while Christianity originates from Isaac. Read the story story or google and you will understand there may never be world peace as long as religious extremists exist.

Are both Ishmael and Isaac not from Abraham? Abraham was not a Christian but a Muslim as the Qur'an confirms. Your Bible created the enmity as Jesus was never a Christian too. There was never a religion called Christianity in the Bible. And the Israeli nation today has more Muslims than Christians. Most Jews even believe Jesus to be a bastard being born out of wedlock! (We seek refuge from Allah from this their misguidance).

4. The crux of the discussion which you have kept rigmarolling around is that you do not want to agree that a Muslim's prayer at the end of the year (aka Cross-over) is supported by islam because a Muslim is meant to pray every day.

Our religion is the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad ( Salallahu alayhi wa salam). He preached Islam for 23 years and never did he celebrate end of even the Islamic new year with prayer or supplications.

Unlike most other religions who follows the whims and caprices of their leaders in the determination of how they worship, when they worship, fast, etc.

We call the Bid'ia i.e. innovation in worship. We don't innovate in matters of worship.
