Abu Abdillah, @Rashduct4luv created a thread on this topic around 2018 and it is still relevant today: Muslims just don't celebrate. We have a legal way of life in Islam. 21 Likes 4 Shares |

Those that will perform tahaajud tonight to Usher in the New year are not Muslims right but fake and pagans isn't it? When looking for the best example for confusion, Islam is the best word for this 30 Likes 3 Shares |

This is a funny post of the year on Nairaland, you Muslims don't want to celebrate Christmas but you can perform tahaajud today 31st December, 2021 to welcome the New year 01/01/2022 should we Christians be telling you what first day of the year means and stand for? 18 Likes 3 Shares |

NO! It is has simple as that! The Gregorian calendar is not allowed especially the celebration dates of it is not allowed to be used to practice such or similar Ibadat. Wa Lahu Mustahab. 3 Likes |

Lukgaf: Isnt a true Muslim meant to pray every day? So why should the last day of the year (aka cross-over) be excluded? The grouse here seems to be that Cross-over prayers is a Christian phenomenon. But actually it's a human phenomenon. Most people regardless of religion or creed simply pray into the new year. Whether there is a cross-over service or not. Don't be blinded by the hatred for other religions. 14 Likes 1 Share |

KingAzari: Or deh Yet, you signed this "I believe that there no god/God but Allah." "I believe that Muhammad is God's Holy Prophet." "I believe that Islam is the Only True Religion." "lā ʾilāha ʾillā-llāh, muhammadun rasūlu-llāh." This is how most of you bring generational curses and problems to yourselves. You lie, steal and take everything as a joke. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Jesus wasnt even born in the winter/December. Christmas is very different from new year's. One is to celebrate Jesus amongst Christians or to celebrate relationships in the western world, the other is to usher a new year according to the solar calender. Muslims should not care about celebrating either holidays. SharonLoveth: 2 Likes |

Islamic Alulamahi and Islamic scholars should educate us on this . Evidences from the holy Quran and Hadith is enough to solve the unnecessary controversy. 1 Like |

The Qur'an clearly states the Sun and the moon are for reckoning time.If he wish not to celebrate Gregorian calendar year as the year ends and another one commences is left to him.Ask him his age in lunar year since they are both twelve months respectively but with eleven days interval between the two. 2 Likes |

Wonder why the non-muslims come on Islamic post to show their ignorance. They claim to have faith but in reality they are insecure, miserable and lost. Even the westerners they follow are leaving xtianity for Islam. May Allah guide them. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Life is easy….Do whatever you like so far you don’t constitute nuisance to yourself (‘cos society still caters for people on self destruct) or to the society at large. Pray for 365 days if you like! 1 Like |
