I am not even one of the people saying Osinbanjo should not contest, he has the full right and no body will and should deny him of the right. There's also nothing bad if Osinbanjo decides to repay his Old boss by stepping down, its not stupid respect its called courtesy, being loyal and having a sense of gratitude , and most importantly its not stopping you from exercising your voting right in any way. Osinbajo is extremely unlikely to become president now that Tinubu has declared. Either none of them gets the ticket or Tinubu gets the ticket. Osinbajo and his supporters should be careful and learn from history.

Gowon freed him ba?

Nigeria was already divided when Gowon did, if Ojukwu didn't obey it, Awolowo would have remained in jail under Biafran government.


Ojukwu freed him based on their gentle man agreement. Some Igbos jailed in the North then didn't return back alive as some got lynched in the North.


At that period, Nigeria was already in anarchy, Gowon's orders weren't obeyed in the old Eastern Nigeria. Eastern Nigeria even seized some crude oil vessels leaving Portharcourt then as part of enforcing the new Biafran government directives, so it was in the jurisdiction of Ojukwu to allow Gowons directive to release political prisoners like Awolowo or not.
