This claim is false
What is the speed of the trains?
Those are carriages that were intended for use in high speed rail to be powered by external propulsion by electricity
We do not have the technology to power trains by electricity so those trains would have to be powered by probably a diesel engine train
This is good news but you do not enhance the news by embellishment or outright lies
Why, by the way is the speed so relevant or this talk about fastest trains necessary

The fastest trains are useful for Intercity travel not intracity/ inner city metro services where the train stops every minute or so

True talk. Purchase is easy because they make money for themselves but making it operational is the challenge.

Things dey happen for Nigeria oh. A train line that's yet to become operational is now being dubbed as the fastest in Africa.

I thought the procedure would be to have it tested, up and running before claiming the rights. It's just like saying my house is the tallest in Africa meanwhile it has only been conceptualized inside my head.

We're better than this please. Although if sanwo olu can make it happen, he's assured of second tenure and even a bigger political office after Lagos.

Doesn’t make any sense emphasizing the speed of the train. You can’t possibly go that fast for an intracity train. Smells like propaganda.
The OP gave a perfect reply to this your talk

Do you go 200 mph when you drive your car, just because your car's speedometer says car has the capacity go all the way to 200mph?

Simple English you people cannot comprehend. The news said "Acquire a 330km/hr train" not test run or use it. They just bought it. It's like buying the fastest car in the world, you haven't drive the car but you know the car is the fastest in the world.

When they say you should go school you will said school na scam. grin grin

Obviously some people have no idea how trans work in developed nations

They are not powered by diesel locomotive engines inside the trains like what we use in Nigeria

High speed trains are externally powered by electricity. So there is a supply of high voltage electricity running above the entire train track from start to finish
The trains draw power using a PANTOGRAPH and converts this to mechanical energy
If those same carriages are connected to a diesel locomotive engine they are no longer going to travel at high speed

Shut up he's saying the truth. What's the sense on buying a hyperspeed sports car to commute from mainland to island? You can get a low speed cheaper car that would do the same thing. These sort of trains are mostly for longer distance. Spending money on them just to answer fastest in Africa when same money could have been used to buy more conventional trains, is not wise. All of these are just for show. Where are the tracks these trains will run?

My people shall never fail to disappoint. Why such a high-powered engine for a short distance?
try to understand bro
A fast mode of transportation isn't necessarily to to run at break neck speed ..rather it is to ensure efficiency in cutting the time frame of moving passengers from point A to point B

What will be the use if it only run at max of 50km/hr and before it returns 10,000 passengers are already waiting for the same journey when the train can only take 1,000

The reduction in time frame means swift evacuation ,better planning and less delay at the stations at anytime

They know they have gullible followers and citizens

I was correcting one guy here too about same issue.
This should be interstate or intercity train for like Lagos to Abuja.

It can never be maximized for a 37km route with more than 10 stops.
How do you bring a train from 300kmph to 0kmph more than 5 to 10 in a 37km journey.

What did Asiwaju do during his own 8 years...

We thank him for Fashola and now Sanwo.

What do we say about him when it comes to Buhari if that's the logic??

There is misinformation in that statement

There is no powere source embedded in those carrages

Carriages is what they bought and that is the maximum speed those carriages can travel at WHEN CONNECTED TO A HIGH SPEED ELECTRICITY OVERHEAD EQUIPMENT AND PANTOGRAPH

JUST like a chariot/carriage may be coupled to horses or a petrol engine

obviously if powered by horses it will not travel at maximum speed

The power is not intrinsic to the carriage

In Nigeria we do not have OVERHEAD EQUIPMENT AND PANTOGRAPH technology and so the carriages would be couple to desel locomotives which would be akin to horses in the chariot scenario

knowing Nigeria and her politicians, I will believe this train is for Nigerians when I see it in Lagos. Anything less than that is still a campaign promise.

You guys seem to have very short memory. Jonathan government didn't teach you a thing about promise and fail. Abi Buhari handling of the security and economy of this country didn't tell you someone can talk about something he or she doesn't know a thing about

They have giving time for it. Why don't you just wait for the last quarter of the year to come. Be calming down. It will surely arrive.
