A second Hellboy? OK, I can live with that. I'd been wondering what was keeping them because the first one had the look of a major event that has come to stay. What, with the logos and paraphernalia that was selling around the movie's release. Ron Perlman did a fairly great job and frankly I couldn't think of a better person for that role. I liked him in Blade 2, but it really took a while before I was connect his carriage and attitude with the vamp in Blade. I liked all the attitude and soft side for the fiery lady,

Danny Craig signing a contract for 4 more Bond movies is not really surprising to me, in fact I already thought he was signed up. I'm wondering who's to lose, the studio or him as I can infer that the contract's an exclusive one forbidding him from taking on any other roles, and the studio has got to justify the money spent and roll out passable James Bond movies which frankly has material running thin except they plan to deviate from the original framework of the Ian Fleming books. Akin will indeed be pleased as he likes James Bond better than my Jason Bourne. Fanatic advocate of Bond, he is.

Since Spongebob and his friends have a movie what do you think will stop anybody from making movies from any background. Very soon you'll see Jerry Springer, the movie. Out this Fall! lol!

C ya!

Hi. Sorry for the absence but you guys seem to've done fine regardless, grin

I saw The Seeker yesterday and I totally agree with iice, they should just can mediocre movies that don't/can't pull their weight but one thing that made me kinda step soft is that some kid may watch that same movie and be totally blown away. LOTR was never actually written as a children's book, The Hobbit and The Chronicles were but admittedly in the translation to screen most directors don't mine the book for it's essence and show that. If you'd told most of the LOTR fans that there'd be so much left out and other things changed prior to the movies coming out, they'da freaked but somehow Peter Jackson got it as in "really! got! it!" and the rest is cinema-perfection. No other Trilogy stands as high and chances are none other will.

On Ben Affleck's movie, it seems to be a hit with quite the number of people. It would seem bland/limited actors make great directors.

I know you guys may want my head for this but I truly think POTC and The Matrix had only one actual movie each and two "Nigerian Films" as sequels.

Daniel Craig as Bond, hmmm well as long as they keep it more Bourne that Roger Moore era Bond, I'm all for it. Loved Goldeneye shaaaaa,

Okay, on the "complicated" thing I'd said earlier years ago: I started watching this new show "Chuck" and while it's a good show I generally had ascribed more cerebral affluence to it than necessary. It's supposed to be a spy-comedy type show. And I watched the 3rd or was it 4th Episode and I was really let down my the enforce clumsiness of the lead and the hiding behind the old chestnut of saying "it's complicated, " and that unnecessarily prolonging either a conflict or starting one.

Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. . .hmmmm i hope it turns out good. All these comic movies that don't actually do justice to the comics sef. BTW there is some rumour of a Silver Surfer spin off undecided. I was talking with my bro and friendz earlier about who would play who in the JL movie. . .We still couldn't find actresses for the female roles lol. So earlier on i read about a Green Lantern movie (not the one with the alien lantern but the one with the pilot lantern). Then just now, i read that 'Common' might be the one to play Green lantern in the JL movie. So lets recap. . .
Superman movie - 2nd one
The Dark Knight - 2nd one
A Flash movie
A Green Lantern movie
A JL movie - featuring different actors from the movies mentioned above
Abeg. . .don't kill the comic movie genre!!!
The current ones are just doing good. . .barely doing justice to the comics.

Funny Vesc, i just read something on Harvey Keitel playing Jerry Springer on stage or something of that sort. . .bwahahaha. i guess you shouldn't have mentioned that tongue

Spikyn cheesy cheesy
Eyah, i feel ya with the 'its complicated' thing tongue
Ahhhh yeah, i remember watching Sinbad and the seven seas as a child and the graphics didn't faze me, I mean i didn't notice that much of the effects, was more into the story. Last year or so i saw it again and i was like bwahahahahahahahahaha oh gawd the effects were horrible grin grin grin. I give credit to SS, he did a good job with JAWS. Even till now, the effects are not horrible as one would expect from a movie made back then.
On Ben's movie. . .yeah seems to be a great hit with the critics. Still dunno if am gonna see that one.
Oh gawd- this just popped into my head, i was reading something on horrible accents -Crowe in American Gangster. . .lol film ain't out and critics are already chewing on it. Aside from that, word is that its a good movie. We shall see grin
I think i mentioned earlier that i was obsessed with motion pictures tongue grin grin

powerofmap, welcome to our corner of obsession tongue

Yo, Spikyn! We've missed ya man, really! Me and iice have been getting by haven't we?

Feeling refreshed already, though I'll be unavailable for the better part of today due to some attachments. Anyways it seems I'm the only one not really getting to see many movies nowadays. That'll change soon. Just committed to a lot of things at the moment. That's my problem anyway.

On Ben Affleck, I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt plus the benefit of the subtle endorsement of Morgan Freeman. Keeping my fingers crossed. If he gets this right, I suspect he might wanna stick around and make a career outta this. well whatever, dude! Goodluck.

About the matrix and POTC having blasted sequels, I might want your big toe, spikyn. In the Matrix, the first one had a story, the second had special fx and the last had conclusion and real bad-ass warfare. I think the first one was the best in some ways but the reloaded was great too. POTC on the other hand came across to me like this; the Dead man's chest is my favorite and I hated 'at world's end' But if I had seen it independently of Dead man's chest, I might have liked it, but in relation to Dead man's chest, it sucks!

I hope you mean that you like Bourne better than Bond, cuz I do, though akin's a fanatical fan of Bond. Wanna know your opinion too iice. I just Craig won't totally spoil the Bond tradition with his lack of charm and suave. iice called him the first blond Bond, fancy that! it's even got a rhyme to it!

Eyah seems very appropriate from me too, cuz I feel your pain with the 'it's complicated' cliche. It's overused and only does nothing but escalate issues. What can't be helped must be endured, huh?

Now on to iice. The golden army (thank God it has a subtitle). I'm beginning to be hopeful, very hopeful indeed. It's like it's a trend in hollywood, once they find a well of novel ideas they wanna drill it until it's dry. That's what they are doing with the comic genre. Everybody wants a piece of he action. I heard they're gonna do a film exclusively on wolverine. ok, no wahala, he's always been a lone ranger anyway. Just don't make my kids say we suck in our time.

iice, it's freaking hilarious what you said about Keitel playing Jerry Springer. I said that as like the most off-chance adaptation and guess what bites me in the ass. Never say never, huh?

I saw Sinbad and the 7 seas too when I was very young. First I had a problem with the gorilla that played Sinbad, doesn't even look Arab. The vicar, now that wasn't bad, but sinbad, phtuee! That image spoiled everything for me. But I liked the story too. Kinda like Hercules' 12 labours. American Gangster is definitely good. I'm very happy with Crowe being chosen cuz he's good at playing one of those Depression days struck fellows with a beret and scrawny jacket. i don't really know anything about the film, just going by a friend's recommendation. Says he saw some reviews on it. Can't blame the critics, that's their job. If you're worth being chewed by them, at least that will advertise your product, innit?

Good old obsessed iice.

Lemme be the second to say welcome, Powerofmap. I loved Pinky and the Brain too. Do you see Freakazoid too. Poppin'
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by spikyn: 6:17pm On Oct 31, 2007
Hey Vesc.

<deep breathe> POTC:DMC was a good movie like you said but as a sequel to CoTBP? Haba! I actually went and rewatched CoTBP again and I really think they fell into the "law of sequels" trap i.e. make it darker and increase the frequency of everything you heard the fans liked about the original. Part of the beauty of the original was that "Captain!" Jack was supposed to be playing second fiddle but ended up with the whole caboodle, that subversiveness was part of the charm and then it was funny, both ha-ha and cerebral funny, it didn't talk down to you but it didn't dumb itself down either and if after the way Barbosa was painted in CoTBP you can accept he can ever work with Jack or even be remotely "good" then ,

M:R was a slap across the face. All the high hopes and they give us 100 Agent Smiths? A war is coming and an orgy was the best way to prepare? Right! Now I may have been so pissed at that because coming off the back of LoTR:TT where there was a virgil for the impending battle for survival and even children were being recruited to fight in Helm's Deep I felt the humans in Zion were plain suicidal.

"James B(l)ond(e)" is fine but Jason Bourne will kill him in a blink.

American Gangster will rock maybe not as hyped and I definitely don't like the angle they marketing it and tying it to modern hip-hop culture et al but come Oscar time, it will be named in a few places though.

Powermap. you are welcome.
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(m): 8:35am On Nov 01, 2007
OK, I think you've got a coupla points there mate. I can see where you're coming from. But at the time I saw Reloaded, I was too busy tripping for the effects than to care where the story's headed and which route it was taking. As for Dead man's chest, I had already concluded that POTC was fantasy/black comedy so I was less concerned about absurdities or who was repenting and who we thought could have an iota of good in him. Just hated the third one where I found the cursed crew of the Flying dutchman way weaker than they look. As in freaking way weaker. Nobody of the good guys camp even died. That sucks the reality out it for me.

I'll give you your big toe back and even add Scofield's since you think so highly of my Bourne. Hehehe. Have got to go now!
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by iice(f): 9:30am On Nov 01, 2007
Hmmmm CoTBP was the best of the three. I agree with Vesc, i didn't like the last installment. Too weak compared to the first. POTC:DMC was passably good undecided I agree with Spikyn on barbosa. . .it was why i liked him in the first one. . .Bad ass!!!! grin grin (Never mind that Geoffrey Rush is an amazing actor) But in some way he held his own against Jack in CoTBP. I hope they stop with POTC:awe (lol) That would just destroy what we loved about the franchise.
On Matrix. . .yeah the first one was my best and the last was my worst. Reloaded was alright except for the orgy part undecided and the scene with the Architect all that 'Ergo' was blehhhh. Was like mind boggling to follow the conversation. At first it made sense then you lose focus coz of too much talk then it makes sense again and then its com'on lets get it on with the fight already! Didn't like the scene too with the 100 agents. . .too animated for me tongue grin But i loved the chase scene. . .Trinity on the bike, Morpheus on the Truck. . .it was awesome! Aside from the Matrix (first part) Animatrix was my favorite. If you're into graphic designs etc, its a wonderful piece. . .from the simplest animation to the complex. Also it makes the whole trilogy understandable.

On Bond and Bourne. Ok i love Bond and i love Bourne grin grin But am more into gritty i'l smack the living day lights outtah ya kind grin grin Not that i didn't like Casino Royale, but am still on the fence on DC (craig). I'll have to see the next installment to know if i want him to continue or if the charm will wear off. My problem is just that his features are more suited for villains or the rugged roles. There is no softness in his face. Despite the 'makeup and wardrobe', that rugged look was not successfully covered.

Vesc, lol i remembered that too (Sinbad) he didn't look arabian at all lol. As for wolverine, yeah there was a rumour of a spin off, same with magneto. Maybe they should do a movie for all the x-men while they are at it lol.
I was trying to remember something some days back and i just saw something that brought it back to me. Onimusha will be helmed by the guy who did Silent Hill so i have lotsa hope for that. Not much on the Tekken movie though. I just saw a pic of Heath Ledger as The Joker in The Dark Knight. . .he looks kindda like Nicholson's Joker. Looks older too! Makeup is wonderful!! tongue grin Okay am seeing too many sequels in progress. . .what's this? Dances with wolves sequel? undecided

Which reminds me. . . .what about Kevin Costner as a director?
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(m): 9:04am On Nov 02, 2007
The orgy, huh? I was even wondering what the significance of that scene was. I guess there going back to their roots. Their primitive roots. But I had a good laugh hearing you guys complain about it.

Now it'll be a nightmare to suddenly see Pirates of the carribean; Guess who's back. We all knew how many installments there were gonna be, like LOTR and The matrix cuz the stories were left hanging. But I understand POTC is a series of books too, but I've not come across them. I hope there's nothing left in the books to inspire them. It'll be truly horrible.

Kevin Costner as a director? Dances with the wolves. Got himself two smooth oscars for best director and best picture. I've not really seen it. I think he directed Waterworld too and one other I forget.

I like the guy a lot. But he seems to be too busy earlier. Now he's going back to the way he was.

Giving all the X-men the spot-light? You're really a cracker, iice. I was laughing harder than the first time.
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by spikyn: 10:53am On Nov 02, 2007
Kevin Costner as a director's pretty good though. I think he did good especially on Dances With Wolves.

Part of my problem with sequels that were not originally planned is that they constantly need to reinvent the characters as they were in the first parts, e.g int PoTC Miss Swann's transformation from "posh" to two-faced minx that battles seasoned pirates easily with swords is just out of the blues and Jack going from rascally with a good heart to back-stabbing "illegitimate/unknown-father" defeats his original charm/appeal. Now this is not a PoTC-only problem o! D'you guys remember how hard the Agents were in The Matrix? Everybody used to run from them and only Neo could even take them on but at the start of Reloaded, he even says they're upgraded and still they were easy to take on even by those who were not "The One". I personally think the best thing about Reloaded was the P.O.D. song on the soundtrack, LOL

If Heath was trying to take on Jack and he'd fail. But from all indications he's playing it straight closer to how Scarecrow was played by Cillian Murphy but more psychotically deranged.

The Wolverine & Magneto movies I think may actually be at pre-production or even production level by now. Never saw the animated Tekken but I still consider the Street Fighter II manga to be the ultimate game to movie translation, so far.

I'm with iice, I always thought of Bond as smooth and deadly. Craig is a little too burlesque for me but then I'm a guy so maybe it works for the female Bond fans, ?

iice, d'you do music at all? What kind?
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(m): 1:27pm On Nov 02, 2007
About POTC. You're totally correct, Spikyn. I was actually wondering myself how a conventional DID (damsel in distress) turns out to be one hell of a vixen not to mention the little thing of being a pirate lord. Also I couldn't really place whether Jack Sparrow was supposed to be a brave gallant pirate (if there's such a thing) or a two timing bastard with allegiance to nobody or at least the highest bidder. Nothing we can do about that anyways.

Ditto a lot of stuff about the Matrix. But their good points overwhelmed their flaws. For instance, I frankly identify with the plausibilty of the story. I actually believe it could have happened. In say like year 2639 or so. P.O.D? The only P.O.D. song I know was performed by Bone Thugs And Harmony who I'm a #1 fan of BTW. I didn't notice it in the movie. You might be refering to some thing else or I am not paying attention.

Street fighter was really great. Considering again that it was made when gaming was (in contrast with today's standard) grossly undeveloped. Nice! But it won't be easy with Tekken cuz I used to play Tekken 3 and I didn't notice any story in the game. The guys just kick each other's asses. Maybe Nintendo's Killer Instinct will be a good try. It'll be like Mortal Kombat.
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by iice(f): 2:44pm On Nov 02, 2007
Spikyn word! on the POD track. . .that's like a favorite of mine.
Am mostly into hiphop / rnb, new age stuffs but i dig rock too (go nuts for guitars. . .or maybe their players tongue grin)
However i listen to other music too, from country to disco. Only genre i can't stand is techno (except for some basement jaxx) bloody gives me a headache angry grin tongue
Still in loff and will forever be in loff with Jack Sparrow grin grin grin

Errhhhh an apology is in order lol. . .i think i mentioned jj abrams somewhere being the director of Serenity. . .i meant Josh Wendon. . .sometimes its just hard keeping track of all these people esp. TV personalities.
Spikyn, i think you'd be happy to hear Whedon has a new program in the works with who other than 'Faith' of Buffy and Angel. The show is titled 'Dollhouse'. . .Whedon says he drew inspiration from the matrix for this show. Well lets see if the man still has the touch tongue

Yeah, didn't see dances with wolves that much. . .i need to go back and see it tongue Seems i need to go see quite a few things lmao. BTW i saw the trailer for Beowulf. . .looks awesome! Also the trailer (well more of a teaser) for Cloverfield (i hope that's the name) will premier with Beowulf. Cloverfield or is it Clovefield? - is that short clip that was shown before the movie Transformers. Dunno if it showed where you guys are, but its done by jj abrams. Film style is kindda like home video undecided (which am not a big fan of) undecided
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by iice(f): 11:28am On Nov 04, 2007
Hmmmmmm just finished watching American Gangster
Ridley and his violent movies tongue grin grin. . .what was the movie that teamed up Denzel and Crowe? Something Virtuality. I don't remember the name. . .now their roles are reversed. . .well not that Denzel is the villain per say undecided
Nwayz, the movie is bloody long!!! Critics were right about Crowe's accent. . .terrible!!
Josh Brolin impressed me. . .i mean with Denzel and Crowe hugging the scenes, he did shine through with his performance. It was a nice movie but it didnt blow me away. I didn't get that 'high' that i get from watching some movies.

Spikyn, am waiting for you to see it and know what you think about it. Vesc, you too. Would really love to know what you guys think of the movie.

I saw D-wars too, erhhhh terrible movie. They concentrated more on graphics and bloody left the story to hang. Later am going to check out 30 days of night.
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by Nwazo(m): 8:43pm On Nov 04, 2007
I think the movie you're referring to that had Crowe and Denzel is Virtuosity, it wasn't such a good movie from what I vaguely remember.

I haven't seen American Gangsters yet, but I plan to soon. With awesome movies like Bladerunner, Alien, and of course Gladiator, Ridley Scott can't go wrong in my book.

Denzel is definitely "Ma Ni&&a" too. Plus we have our Naija broda Chiwetel Ejiofor in it as well, so American Gangster is definitely on the list cool
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by iice(f): 1:33am On Nov 05, 2007
Ahhhh all i remembered was that the title has something to do with virtual.
Yeah blade runner's an awesome movie

Funny seems Chiwetel is now usually teaming up with Denzel eh? But got to give the brodah props.  He's a good actor.

Welcome to our li'l zone Nwazo
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(m): 10:59am On Nov 05, 2007
Virtuosity, I remember clearly. I even saw a documentary of Washington's travails and there was considerable spotlight on Virtuosity. I didn't really like the movie when I saw it sometime in '97 or so. I didn't even think anything of Russell Crowe, the crazy glass man. Be nice to the lil people cuz you don't know where they might pop up. I really didn't see an oscar winner in him, but I guess his role didn't do him much.

About Chiwetel, it's great to know. There have been a lot of Nigerian acts in the scenes and Africans in general. Apart from Djimon Hounsou (I hope I got that right) none has really got to be steady. This baloon navigator guy in The mummy returns (nigerian) and the top hench man for the evil professor too I think is African. Then there is this lady in Hotel Rwanda (nigerian). All these people show up and dissapear or get lil roles that don't make you realise they're there.

American gangsters wasn't that good? ow! What nationality was Crowe supposed to be playing?

I still do not know about the POD sound track you guys are talking about and it's driving me crazy. You guys tell me the performers of the track already!
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by iice(f): 11:22am On Nov 05, 2007
You know that guy in the mummy 2 is the guy in lost and before lost he was in oz. . .not the spotlight but steady work. His name keeps escaping me. . .i call him the 3As (AAA) grin grin

Nahhh, you mistake me, American gangsters was good. It just didn't start the bubbles in my head grin grin I just want to know you guys' opinions before i hammer away grin grin Crowe played a New Yorker and you know that accent isn't exactly one of the easiest to get down. I cringe everytime i hear it grin grin

POD track is sleeping awake
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by jiddah: 4:01pm On Nov 05, 2007
well i think the 3As is Adewale Akinnoye Agbaje, well i think he kind of cutting his stuff out.still in tune with his roots sticking to that kind of long african name, was funny seeing him in Bourne Identity speaking broken yoruba, and he also did a movie with Van dame can't remember it now though.
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by iice(f): 4:05pm On Nov 05, 2007
Thank you jiddah. . .though it will take me sometime to get the name down in my memory old age and all that jazz grin grin The movie with Van Damme was - The Legionnaire. Yeah he still sticks to his roots. . .even in oz, he spoke with an accent - more pronounced in some scenes - and he even did one dance like that over a dead body, it was hilarious. . .I really like him. Am happy for our naija artists oooo, small by small we shall shine grin
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(m): 8:22am On Nov 06, 2007
It's good to know y'all keep such an ardent track of all these fellas. In retrospect,, I think I done messed up especially with triple A. I should have remembered him a couple of of the films y'all mentioned, emphasis on Bourne Identity and The Legionnaire. So, uh, Jiddah, did u like Bourne Identity or it was too gory for ya. You see, iice, when it comes to violence, you and Jiddah are completely opposites.
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by iice(f): 11:56am On Nov 06, 2007
jiddah doesn't like violent movies? shocked grin tongue grin
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by jiddah: 4:11pm On Nov 06, 2007
well depends on the kind of violence though.
i can do without those stabbing and stuff, some people find it difficult to see why,was almost forwarding the whole film when i watched TROY with my little cousin reminding me that its just a film, with all the stabbing in the film, and mafia films with shooting and all those funny ways of tortures are not really my thing, freaks me out.
@ vescucci
well sorry to burst your bubble i just saw Bourne Identity since and i liked it,kind of adrenaline pumpin for me,after a long time of thinkin to see or not to see just watched the second Bourne, and am looking to watching Ultimatum soon grin.am hoping to be tough, very tough soon. cool
But i actually sat through The Departed without flinching, watching how the heroes die through unexpected shots.i just have a thing for when heroes die, heroes are not s'pose to die embarassed.

people think am chicken when i tell them that i don't like Violent movies so,and it seems funny because i don't seem like so,i hereby say am on a spree of watching violent movies,so any recommendation iice?
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(m): 7:54am On Nov 07, 2007
Jiddah get ready for a flood. iice go easy on her! About endings, I don't really dig too happy ending where every single one of the good guys make it through. I like endings that leave you saying 'oh damn!' like in that that Snoop's movie Jimmy Bones or something. A realistic ending like iin Coach Carter too is great, (not a great film, but a sensible ending) 300 too where everybody bit the dust? Now that's what I'm talking about. Going to buy Heroes before the week runs out. I'm really suffering being away from home. I should have been seeing these things pre-season, hehe.
Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by iice(f): 10:21am On Nov 07, 2007
Jiddah. . .to each his/her own.  Sure i understand you.  There are people who can't manage violent movies, just like some don't like horror (horror gives me sleepless nights grin) but that doesn't mean i can't watch a few (have to set my limits b4 i turn to a living dead) grin
Troy? I thought there werent enough killings in that one undecided

So what kind of violence can you handle? Gory? I pretty much like gory movies.  I was watching grindhouse again some days back. . .QT always makes sure to incoporate some of his inspirations (from japs/chinese).  All that one slash/ one shot and blood spewing all over. . .i remember when i first watched 28 days later (not a QT movie), what made me enjoy the movie was the unexpectedness of the gory scenes.  There was this scene - the lady asked her friend, 'did it get in your mouth?' (blood that is) and he kept stammering his reply coz he just knew if he answered positive, he was a dead man and before you could blink, the lady flew at the man and hacked him to pieces grin grin grin Another scene was when the rage infected people attacked this guy, he put his fingers into the eye ball sockets and mashed the eyeballs in the socket grin grin (oooh they tried that scene again in the sequel, but it didn't do it for me like the first one).  Later i'l come up with a list, if you still want to give it a try.  I should prolly not give the too violent ones (i think am a bit extreme in this matter)

Vesc, second you on the happy ending thing.  Not really my thing too.  Too predictable.  Remember in Sin City, that huge guy played by Rourke - i thought he would live considering all he has been through and his body. . .liked that he fried. . .same thing with Willis character, he was a good guy for blowing his brains out.  But i just have to say that Del Toro was tres sexy and evil grin grin just loved him in that movie grin grin

Lol, iice. So you dig Benicio huh? What about his voice. Come to think of it I think I dig everybody in that movie except the yellow blooded reptilus son of the demented mayor or was it a governor? If Elijah Wood's character wasn't a sick cannibal he'd be my second favorite after Rourke's. I remember when I was reading Stephen King's Dreamcatcher, and this alien inhabiting a human used the power of the mind to make another guy drive a pen through his eye-ball (get ready) and into his brain! Now that's gangsta!

Oohhhhhhhhh yes i dig Benicio alot. Have always liked him. And that his voice with the quivering quality tongue grin LMAO the yellow guy was ewwwwww. Woods' character, i liked - silent but deadly!- Hah! I remember that too from dreamcatcher grin In Silent Hill, there are a couple of gory scenes but this one stands out to me - the alarm starts to ring, the people run into the church, the darkness is coming. . .a lady is still on the stairs murmuring, the 'thing' manifests, grabs her with one hand, the other hand rips her skin from her body in one move, the blood splatters and reaches just inside the church as the door closes. . .that scene got us all tripping grin grin grin

I did see a trailer for the new Frank miller novel turn movie - Wanted (Freeman, Jolie, McAvoy, Common) hmmmm looks ok, will have to wait on what that would turn out to be.

By the time they run out of Miller books what will become of them? hehe, typical thrill junkie, iice. I wonder if you sky dive for kicks. Me? Probably will pass out before touching the ground. When you say trailer, you mean trailer. That means Wanted has been finished. If I were in the US, I'd probably be a set-stalker meaning I'd be stalking film sets and get to know about films and their casts way before they produce them. Or better still (and legal too) I'd work for one giant film studio, say Newline and will have to do with whatever we come up with. With the way y'all go on about Heroes, I'll definitely get it. Hiro this, Takeo that. The name of the series fooled me. It seemed too bland and I thought it was some kind of a inspirational stuff.

Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(m): 8:20am On Nov 12, 2007
well, I just got Heroes last week. Haven't started though. I wanna take my time with it. The Mist huh? I haven't seen any trailer on it but ditto on what iice thinks cuz Stephen King's reign has really passed. I don't think he's trying himself to make any more statements but some how people are still loyal to him and all that. He was great while he lasted though. I'd rather stick to his books than watch movies made from his books. He writes way too much, with more than fifty books to his name, that's what, one book per year non-stop ever. Damn.

About Beowulf, do make sure u see it and tell me what the fuss is all about the computer generated nude Angelina Jolie. I wanna know if it really is that explicit grin

asada, u ain't raining on anyone's parade writing anything u like on this thread. Afterall Seun is Zeus here. Just say smart stuff and you'll be okay. Ai karamba, I got a call to make
