The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has raised the alarm over incessant attacks and killings in the region by gunmen

The group declared that the recent Enugu killing and the ones ongoing in Anambra State are giving it sleepless nights, adding that “enough is enough “.

The group spoke through Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, OYC,led by Mazi Okwu Nnabuike.

Gunmen have killed tens of people in Enugu, Imo and Anambra States in the last one week.

However the Ohanaeze Youth leader said the killings were totally condemnable.

While describing it as “an attack too many,” he wondered why the perpetrators would descend on hapless Nigerians who continued to go about their normal businesses in Igboland .

“We are in deep pains over the previous lives wasted again in the hands of some strange persons operating under the guise of unknown gunmen.

“Within the past few weeks, several persons, including security operatives have also paid the supreme price. This is totally condemnable and unacceptable.

“Igbo people are known to be peaceful people; they are known to be respecters of the sanctity of blood. This is why we are still at a loss on the motive and those behind this carnage.

“Be that as it may, we are calling on the State Governments to rise to the occasion. It does appear that the Federal Government controlled security apparatus are sitting on the fence.

“To this end, the State Governments should step up action with both conventional and unconventional approach to tackle this menace once and for all.

“We have had enough bloodshed in Igbo States and we say that “enough is enough,” he said.

He called on aggrieved youths to come to the negotiating table as “the current approach would not yield the desired results.

“We are ready to midwife any negotiation that would bring about a lasting peace in Igbo land .” Okwu said

He consoled the victims of the gunmen attack at Abia cattle market, Enugu and Anambra States, urging security agencies to carry out in-depth investigations before arriving at a conclusion, adding, “there must be adequate compensation for the victims.

Just imagine the clowns that call themselves elders.

Maybe the fg should arrest dss officials residing in ondo or fulani herdsmen rearing their cattle in Kano, over the killing by "strange persons".

Arrest one of the miscreants now, both the online and offline clowns will d'art shouting "they are innocent", "this is Buhari victimisation" etc.

Anyway, wetin even concern me, so let them enjoy their villages very well. cheesy

The Police should do their job and fish out whoever is is killing people, not just in Igbo land, but anywhere in Nigeria, and charge them to court

The Chicken has indeed come home to roost.

They thought they were doing Buhari/other Nigerians by their conspiratorial silence while their children were messing up, justifying the killing of innocents, supporting IPOB terror, clapping and making excuses for the same “ungun knownmen” that are now terrorizing the East.

They are the monsters you made.

This has been their usual rhetoric. When will they learn to call a spade by it name? Until then I fear the killers will remain'unknown gunmen'.

These ones ain't ready to face the truth just yet, even when it's staring them in the face. They wanted "adequate compensation for the victims" , they're only interested in Government giving them money freely, perhaps they can procure more arms.

Chicken did not come to roost anywhere. The gunmen are security agents and fulani militia who arrived the east about 2weeks ago. Some of the people they kidnapped on their way down already gave information on their presence and agenda to impersonate ESN via YouTube broadcasts

Finally Igbos are waking up to telling the truth for the first time. Before now they were playing victim game blaming Buhari, Fulani herdsmen and security agents.

When this madness started with these unknown gunmen attacking security posts, prisons and the killings of security men and passived enemies of IPOB I said it's only a foolish man that makes his compound a battle ground, then some Igbos internet warriors rained abuses at me, I remember the event on twitter, now they are beginning to realise it.

When you encourage evil or shield it that evil will turn to consume you, some Igbo leaders like Victor Umeh and pastors like father Umbaka still blaming the federal government for the unrest in the East are the enemies of Igbos, they are not telling the truth for their selfish reasons one of which to avoid being a target for attack by the unknown gunmen.

It's time the Igbos begin to call a spade a spade, it's time every Igbo raise their voices against the criminals parading themselves as freedom fighters in the name of IPOB/unknown gunmen. The major actors in IPOB are those criminals that used to rob and kidnap in Igbo land before IPOB was birth, these criminals are now taking shield in IPOB still perpetrating their criminal acts.

South East has not seen anything yet. The greatest disservice any society can do to itself is to allow untrained people have access to arm in the name of freedom fighter. I have been in niger delta for the past two decades and I can tell you this for free.

Don't worry yourself explaining anything to that thing. He claims to come from the north. The amount of people killed in one day in one state from the northwest where he claims to come from, supercedes the total amount of people killed by unknown gunmen in the whole East in a year, yet he has never felt so "traumatized" as he is displaying on this thread! You won't hear him blast his backward culture that provides enough impetus for greater violence to all those almajiri butchers. They will rather act like it's a family affair.

Just like the South westerners above, jumping up and down on this thread. You hardly hear them say a word about the the fact that the south west is now the capital of ritual killings in the whole world. They pretend these never happened while pokenosing on issues happening elsewhere. Atleast, the leaders of the South East are the ones complaining about these killings. How many times have the leaders of the other regions spoken up against the activities of these violent elements in their midsth? The northerners would have turned such event into an opportunity to ask for a "Development Commission" by now... Funny people..

This is the mindset of many people in the East. We called it self denials, until such time that reasonable people will come together and tell themselves pure truth that creation of ESN without a central or control command is not in best interest of South east and Channel a new cause, enjoying your killing.

Is DSS that is doing it. Foolish people. Abi na fulani herdsmen.

The guns that they took during the police station invasion what do you think they will use it for? Igbos applauded them that time. Now it's time to use it. Guns in the hands of jobless youths is calamity.

I don't know your region is in competition of who will have the highest number of people killed per year.

So because more people are killed up north everyday no one should bother about the lil killings in the East according to you??

I can't say this your statement is due to illiterate but I can say for sure this foolery at it peak.
