No, this is not about taxes

It is about allowing the private companies that control the distribution and generation of power the right to set their prices above what it costs to produce that power so that they have enough money to pay for improvements

Not the one where it costs 80 naira to produce one kwh of powerand government is setting it at 40to 71 naira sale price

Bythe way discos have been unable to pay taxes because they cannot make enough profit to do so

It's the federal govt that controls the grid that collapsed and not private companies. So which private companies are u referring to?

Question is why must we be on a national grid?
Can't we just decentralize power transmission in this country for the sake of our sanity.
National grid was planned when Nigeria barely have a population of 60 million people. It is out dated already.

The grid and the gencos get paid from what money the discos raise.

Well when even with the increase , it is still below the cost of production, plus 30 to 40 percent of customers dont pay even with meters installed, what do you expect?

If you were a businessman and goverment set your prices in such a way.that you run at a loss and 40% customers don't pay, how would you run your business?

Oga all these you are talking is grammar, what should be the solution?

When you pay N20 to N60 for something that costs N53 to N80 to make, this is what you get.

No profits, bad service.

If you want power 24 seven, let the sector set its price so that money dey for more generation and better transmission.

You cannot pay 400 naira for a car.
The problem is now price What we are generating isn't even enough to power Lagos alone not to talk of the whole Nigeria. Fashola said it wasn't rocket science pre 2015. I wonder how PDP were able to manage this then

National grid benefits d North. All the gas powered stations from south are fed to d grid and consumed mostly by North, while they load shed d south. Check out all the power projects in this administration are in d north.

Buhari govt did not build a single Power station to increase generation

Presently we are relying on gas plants in d south bc hydro plants are having low water due to dry season.

Let the discos set a price that would enable them to pay for improvements plus pay gencos and tcn enough money for themto make improvements ( as seen with GSM)

Not the government.

And Yes, it means higher prices for power.

Let everyone pay his or her power bill. Goverment and elite to the poor. No more meter bypass

Pwc in their paper" solving the liquidity crunch in the power sector " put it at N83 per kwh.

They were doing it during pdp time. In fact, APC inherited the thing from PDP.

Reversing it means higher prices

Nothing to do with abokis and everything to do with goverment pricing power at a level where companies involved cannot make a profit

And it was started by the previous administration and enshrined in law in such a waythat revising thething means govern ment pays a lot of money as compensation
Abokis destroyed everything, who are the government?

Grid is worn out. Has been for years. Needs a lotof money ( someone put it at 100 billion dollars!) to fix.

Nepa does not exist. Plus even then estimated billing is a symptom of the fact that the discos operate at a loss in the first place
