no,the se state are too small. they do not have internal generated revenue. even local govt generate more internet revenue than south east state.

when you look at the internal generated revenue of this state , it is less than some local govt in nigeria. they should not be state, if local government have more internal generated revenue than a state. it tell you. the local govt chairman is more powerful than some governors.

U are right, however way the government goes about creating new states under OBJ and all other president would be applied. We will have our additional five south eastern states in no time via successive gov, one regime after another,

how can you have additional state when even the one you have dont generate enough. take example bayelsa state. its internal generated revenue is less any local govt in lagos or oyo or ogun state. it generate just 300 million naira. bayelsa has less population than all of the each local govt in lagos state

All states must not be equall.As long as it's internal generated revenue is relative to the population. In the US, states like california and new york with over 20million people is more populated than let's say Wyoming with just 500 thousand people.

The only regions not generating enough revenue is the North and South West. We in the east can have as much states as we want becos we generate enough revenue.

USA states are independent of each other.   Bayelsa state get so much. It is budget is half of that of lagos. even while lagos state, have 20 times the population of bayelsa state

Wrong info Ezeuche. Oil money did not build Lagos. Lagos was built by its unique geographical location and diversity. The same goes for Delta and PH.

You must be crazy to say the SW does not generate enough money. Even Ogun state alone generates more money than ANY SEastern state. Btw, there is NO EAST!!! If there is an East, there must be a West which includes Edo and Delta.

Afam, the collective revenue from all oil producing states are shared. Even though Lagos, Ogun and I think Edo state produce oil (especially Lagos), they are not counted as oil producing states, hence they collect less revenue compared to their counterparts.

Not every part of he country is dependent on Oil. When Obj seize lagos state's fund for THREE YRS. It still survived and even developed.

Oil does not = to development. If it was Bayelsa will be the most developed city in Nigeria. Even if you give them 100% of their revenue, as long as their leaders are still corrupt, they will not develop.

Give them 100 percent control and see if the state will not thrive. No matter how bad their leaders are.

oil s one of the natual resouces used to develop nigeria

now oil is not only found in balyelsa state in fact 10% of oil in nt even in balyelsa state

there is oil starting from lagos, ogun, ondo, delta, rivers, bonny islands, imo, abia, cross river, akwa ibom and as some claim now anambra and borno state

now in nigeria apart from oil and gas the country generates revenue from timber, palm oil, cash crop(obasanjo farms)
gold (ogun, sokoto, kano) uranuim( sokoto kano) etc

nigeria does not revolve around oil and the 19 northern state does not depend on oil to survive unless u mean oil is used to pay the abuja people but certainly not the civilians

the civilains are paid by the internally generated revenue produces by northerners themselves

the food and cash crops produced in the north is sold to other states and also exported and that is how each northern state gets there money,

the oil gotten from balysea money is not even given to the nigerian government  or maybe less than 5% of the money i given to the governent

majority of the money is given to traditional rulers, governors of balysea, and other ijaw hungry mouths

this money does not even get to the good people of balysea
