LCC RESTART OF OPERATIONS CAMPAIGN
BEYOND TOLLING: HOW LCC BRINGS VALUE TO THE SOCIETY

LCC is more than a tolling company. It brings values that enable a peaceful, safe and comfortable every day pursuit of economic aspirations for stakeholders in its ecosystem

These values are the many essential services LCC delivers to all stakeholders including motorists, passers-by, and the communities along the Eti-Osa/Lekki-Epe Expressway axis

The essential services LCC provides include:
a. Medical Emergency services to road users in need
b. 24/7 Ambulance/Rescue Services to accident victims
c. 24/7 Emergency Towing Van services to ensure smooth flow of traffic
d. 24/7 Security patrol to ensure round-the-clock protection and safety for lives and properties
e. Road and Traffic management to ensure convenient commuter experience
f. Environmental protection of the host communities through drainage clearing, beautification etc.
g. Employment generation with over 500 direct and thousands of indirect staff

These essential services give LCC systemic importance to the day-to-day security, safety and peaceful conduct of social and economic activities within the communities where it operates

Since inception, LCC has diligently delivered these services and the benefits therefrom to the people of Lagos State without fail or favor…

LCC’s Toll Plazas therefore enable residents and those plying those axes to access safe, secure, and smooth daily commute to their daily pursuit of social and economic prosperity.

As a committed social citizen, LCC has dutifully sustained the delivery of those values in service to the people throughout the 18-month period it has been away from the toll plazas.

LCC’s need to return is an imperative to enable the continued delivery of values to the communities it serve, as well as meet its statutory obligations to staff and creditors.

It’s important to note that LCC was NEVER indicted for any wrongdoing and the toll plazas were never designated as crime scenes.

Also, LCC cooperated fully with the Judicial Panel of Enquiries during proceedings and was cleared and granted approval to return to operations as far back as February 2021…

It is only fair to return to ‘work’ in order to continue to deliver the support the society, and secure the dignity and livelihoods of its hundreds of employees, as well as their dependents running into thousands

Actually, I wouldn't mind the LCC starting operations again. But one question that needs to be answered is, "What happens to taxes being paid by individuals and corporate organisations? Does it mean our taxes can't provide us the basic amenities and infrastructures?"

Tinubu cash cow must not be toyed with. Election is around the corner and the bullion van thief must buy voters, thus LCC must be back to toll the gates

You guys are so vulnerable, you'll believe anything these politicians say. The LCC is desperate to resume their operations of milking road users dry of their money and have come up with cock and bull stories about how "useful" they are to the society, and you people are ready to fold. Have they answered to what transpired during the end sars protest? It's like a thief coming to beg for forgiveness but is not ready to return the stolen property

LASG should pay LCC for that since it abdicates its responsibilities. That tolling is still a needless burden.

Meanwhile, Fashola told us before he left that LASG had paid off LCC with the cost of Lekki-Epe Road.

The truth is uncomfortable and bitter.

I haven’t seen any developed country without tolled bridges or roads. Government cannot do everything, they have to invite private investors to solve some problems and collect their money back from the masses.

If LCC toll does not resume, it would be used as a negative pointer for other long term investment in capital infrastructure in Nigeria.

True that it was widely publicized then, so do they take us for fools saying they are indebted and have to pay investors, after government had paid the full cost of the road. If the government so desires it should absorb the staff into LASTMA and neighbourhood security watch.

Fashola claimed he paid them off for the fill cost of the road. So what is the investment when the road was paid for by government?

In all fairness tho, I remember when I had to call their emergency number in 2019 and my vehicle was towed back home without collecting a dime from me. I just dashed the driver and his colleague 1k each which they reluctantly collected.

Toll gate in Lekki and Ikoyi causes traffic...those man hours wasted by millions of motorists and passengers amounts to billions in loses to the economy daily. Majority is more important...the tollgate employs less than 200 people, we are talking millions of Lagosians who loses due to the traffic caused by the tolling.
#notollgate in inner cities and metropolis, tolling us normal for major highways...in order to avoid traffic congestion. They should take the tollgate to the Epe to Ogun highway, that will not affect traffic flow. Governance should be about what works, the best option. We can't be loosing trillions while trying to make millions daily. Time wasted at tollgate by millions daily amount to trillions in economic loses. The state should not be myopic. Free flow of traffic is an indication of mega city status, because it takes proper thinking and planing to get it right. Man hours is core in business economics, this directly impact the economy of a state. #smartlagos

These folks are born liars. the original history of LCC should be known. LCC was previously managed by a private company known as ARM Harith Investment, a subsidiary of ARM group that invested in the project alongside LASG in what we call Public-Private Partnership (PPP). ARM-Harith was meant to manage the project by erecting toll gates at both the Lekki and Chevron axis of the expressway. When they initially began operations, they were considerable in the amount they charge at the toll-gate until the devil entered their head and began increasing the toll price which resulted in protest if some of you could recollect the protest that Kate Henshaw spearheaded. This prompted the LASG under the administration of Fashola to buy out the contract from ARM-Harith thereby best bestowing 100% of the ownership to the LASG. If Lagos State owns the project now, why are they taxing people again, I know we pay road tax whenever we go to renew our licensees.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against tollgates, they improve the quality of our infrastructure but this particular has more to it that meets the eyes.

Have you anywhere seen too how tolling proceeds are clandestinely managed by the LASG and LCC? Lagosians have no idea how much is even made daily by this fraud, and you sit down there to talk about investments and infrastructure. You think we are all simpletons?
