Of course it brings value but that’s in return for the toll paid. So do we have to applaud you for what you have collected money to do!

As a result of the toll collected, it is your obligation to provide the services you’ve listed especially if these formed a part of the concession contract.

It is left to be seen if other companies that with highway concessions can match what you provide… only then will we say you are doing well

The truth is uncomfortable and bitter.

I haven’t seen any developed country without tolled bridges or roads. Government cannot do everything, they have to invite private investors to solve some problems and collect their money back from the masses.

If LCC toll does not resume, it would be used as a negative pointer for other long term investment in capital infrastructure in Nigeria.

There is an easy solution to this.
The government should float the company so that is it owned by the public.
In this case it can still hold controlling shares and will still make revenues by license and royalties.
The reason for doubt and resistance lies around its ownership and the opacity of its revenues.

LCC RESTART OF OPERATIONS CAMPAIGN
BEYOND TOLLING: HOW LCC BRINGS VALUE TO THE SOCIETY

LCC is more than a tolling company. It brings values that enable a peaceful, safe and comfortable every day pursuit of economic aspirations for stakeholders in its ecosystem

These values are the many essential services LCC delivers to all stakeholders including motorists, passers-by, and the communities along the Eti-Osa/Lekki-Epe Expressway axis

The essential services LCC provides include:
a. Medical Emergency services to road users in need
b. 24/7 Ambulance/Rescue Services to accident victims
c. 24/7 Emergency Towing Van services to ensure smooth flow of traffic
d. 24/7 Security patrol to ensure round-the-clock protection and safety for lives and properties
e. Road and Traffic management to ensure convenient commuter experience
f. Environmental protection of the host communities through drainage clearing, beautification etc.
g. Employment generation with over 500 direct and thousands of indirect staff

These essential services give LCC systemic importance to the day-to-day security, safety and peaceful conduct of social and economic activities within the communities where it operates

Since inception, LCC has diligently delivered these services and the benefits therefrom to the people of Lagos State without fail or favor…

LCC’s Toll Plazas therefore enable residents and those plying those axes to access safe, secure, and smooth daily commute to their daily pursuit of social and economic prosperity.

As a committed social citizen, LCC has dutifully sustained the delivery of those values in service to the people throughout the 18-month period it has been away from the toll plazas.

LCC’s need to return is an imperative to enable the continued delivery of values to the communities it serve, as well as meet its statutory obligations to staff and creditors.

It’s important to note that LCC was NEVER indicted for any wrongdoing and the toll plazas were never designated as crime scenes.

Also, LCC cooperated fully with the Judicial Panel of Enquiries during proceedings and was cleared and granted approval to return to operations as far back as February 2021…

It is only fair to return to ‘work’ in order to continue to deliver the support the society, and secure the dignity and livelihoods of its hundreds of employees, as well as their dependents running into thousands

All you write here is just trash I swear. If Nigeria is a good country that toll will never come to light again. Is lekki another state inside Lagos state what does toll gate really mean??. Is this how toll gate are operated in other country?. Will LCC provide safety for accident victims at ikoyi of eko bridge?. Is the money going into Lagos state cover??. Does the toll gate belong to Lagos state or thiefnubi family ?? . See all the people that are destroying this country and all of una way deh support bad things God will punish all of you from generation to generation to come. God will punish everybody that bring this calamity to us in Nigeria you will never go free. Why they LCC doesn’t off the security camera on that 20th... Why did people destroy the LCC in the first place because they were hiding what happens that night. You come here deh talk rubbish nah God go punish you maybe since deh shut down since people no deh live their life Awon were oloriburuku Thunder go strike you there

LCC should change its strategy. It's evil to get motorists to do PAYE for tolls. You pass the tollgates 10 times, you pay 10 times. It's even criminal to do that.

Even though people who use those tollgates are the rich and mighty, nobody is happy with the way this government has inflicted sufferings and anguish on Nigerians.

LCC should make it a one-time fee every day. Nigerians are unhappy and hungry. I hope boys don't apply UGM strategy when this tollgates open again.
Re: Beyond Tolling: How LCC Brings Value To The Society by Freethinker87: 9:36am On Mar 24, 2022
Noted however, beyond these benefits, LCC also brings some other detriments to society.

Who turned off the lights and removed the security cameras at Lekki toll gate before the #EndSARS massacre?

These are the questions Lagosians are asking LCC. We want LCC to give an account of their role in the Lekki massacre of 20-10-2020.

Oh, you thought we forgot.

You guys are so vulnerable, you'll believe anything these politicians say. The LCC is desperate to resume their operations of milking road users dry of their money and have come up with cock and bull stories about how "useful" they are to the society, and you people are ready to fold. Have they answered to what transpired during the end sars protest? It's like a thief coming to beg for forgiveness but is not ready to return the stolen property

How is LCC complicit in EndSars? People were gathered there peacefully for days and nothing happened. Then powers that be from Abuja or wherever sent troops there and the rest is history. Even Sanwo Olu said he didn't know about the order for police/army to go there. So how is LCC complicit?

the toll fees are already on the high side, and what alternative routes do they provide for those that can't afford the toll? Also, how are they addressing traffic on that axis? the same sane climes, tolls are designed to ease traffic, not cause it! In the last 18 months, that axis has recorded less traffic congestion since the shut down which was unobtainable before the shut down, what steps are in place to sustain such?

Shameful as usual! And such effrontery!

How do you roll out the basic responsibilities of a State government and put now as the JD of a private/ pseudo-government company just to justify money collection? All of a sudden, LCC has become the state government and those Lekki tollgates are tax collection centres.

Sadly, a largely uninformed society with charlatan politicians!
Re: Beyond Tolling: How LCC Brings Value To The Society by dewiseacre(m): 1:15pm On Mar 24, 2022
Thank God some of us have lived in these developed countries. That those societies have these infrastructure doesn't mean that when they are "copied and pasted" here, the motives are the same!

If LCC built 3rd Mailand bridge, they probably would have installed toll points at each end.
