what about that of benin corpus, did the history not tell you that it was their mothers that was Yoruba, while their fathers are benins, or since they married yoruba they automatically became one

What I learnt is that Oduduwa had just one son called Okanbi. Oranmiyan was not a direct son of Oduduwa. That's why the Yorubas say, "Okan l'omo Oodua", meaning Oodua had just a child.

Where did Oduduwa come from?

Where did the ancestors of the Igodomigodo come from?

Ogu people are not Yoruba

The simple truth is that Yoruba as a construct is a 20th century construct within the context of Nigeria.
Ogu language is not in the Yoruba language family and there is next to zero mutual intelligibility. At some point in history the Ogu people like the Egba e.g fell under Oyo domination

They have similarities but they are different people

So, who are the Yorubas? The Ekitis, Ijeshas, Egbas, Oyos, Ifes, Aworis, Ijebus, Egbados (Yewas), Eguns, Owos, Ondos, Akures? Who among them can we call Yorubas as it appears you more about the Yorubas?

All you are saying does not indicate any conquest of Owo or Akure. Rather, it suggests a mixture of the Binis and the Yorubas whether true trade, marriage or due to their close proximity. Your argument simply supports what the Yorubas know and have always said that the Obaship in Ibinu land, not the Ogisoship please, was from Ife. Oranmiyan went to Ibinu from Ife and he returned to Ife. He neither died in Ibinu nor was buried there. If he was from Ibinu, he would not have had any cause to return to Ife. Igodomigodo and Ogiso are quite different from Binis and Oba respectively.
Even the “ogiso” monarchy supreme/supra-chiefdom was launched to “Benin” from Ile-Ife during the reign of King Oduduwa of Ifẹ.

His claim that the name “Yoruba … is a 20th century construct within the context of Nigeria” is an ignorant FALSEHOOD.

The name “Yoruba” may be seen in a writing from the year 1615 (and perhaps another earlier writing from the year 1597). Refer to the red highlight of the first screenshot below for its presence in the 1615 writing.

The existence of these writings of 1615/1597 further proves that the name had obviously been in existence (in non-written form) even long before 1615/1597.

I would like to think that the years 1615/1597 comes prior to the creation of Nigeria ✌

Moreover, the 2nd attachment is from an 1863 work. It clearly shows the existence of this name. It also goes to show the geographical delineation.

Again, I like to think that the year 1863 comes prior to the creation of Nigeria ✌

Cheers.

There's hydrocarbon deposits
already in Ipokia and Ogun Waterside of Ogun State sharing boundaries with hydrocarbon-rich
areas of Ondo State leading right into the hydrocarbon-rich areas of
Itsekiriland in Delta State.

The huge bitumen belt also runs from Ondo to Ogun to Lagos and Edo States.

Hello @TAO11,

First off, are you a Professor of History and/or an Archaeologist
by profession? I forgot to ask you this back in the day here on NL.

I've been thinking that you could
even make an awesome moderator for the Culture thread since advanced history is your core specialty and you kinda spend
time there with your footprints
clearly embedded.

You're one woman who has always been dogged about providing historical evidence and end up schooling some folks here. I've always admired your deep
insights.

Have a great year ahead. smiley

All the best.
