Ag Police PPRO, Adejobi: Police To Hold DPOs Responsible For Officer's Extortion by HonNL: 10:33pm On Apr 15, 2022
In a bid to reduce or possibly put a stop to extortion, harassment and brutality in the NPF, we will henceforth hold DPOs and Commanders responsible for the misdeeds of their men. In as much as we dont promote vicarious liability, we have equally noticed that some superiors fail or lack the willingness and/or wherewithal to supervise and manage their men. This leadership gap is not in tune with the leadership styles of the IGP and his repositioning drives, thus, counterproductive and condemnable.

First step in the right direction. The DPOs are the main culprits, forcing their men to "deliver" when mounting road blocks

Rubbish, you need to hold the top echelon of the police responsible for the extortion and brutality of the rank and file. They're tasked to go out and make money (extort citizens) and remit upwards from the patrol officers to the DPOs upwards to the ACs then to the various state commands and pooled before remitting to the center, if you know what I mean shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

Nice one but that doesn't change the fact that the Nigeria police force is the most corrupt force in the world, followed by India that are far behind us

The DPOs right now be like 'who be this mumu again?'

Oluwaseun..... that's what's have been clamoring for in a long time.

Most DPOs and commanders are the source of Police corruption. When you hold their Ogas for supervisory negligence. They will henceforth rein in on their subordinate not to kill their careers with the force.
supervisors should be accountable for their subordinates action and inaction.

This guy has been doing some repositioning and rebranding lately. My question is why are all these changes coming now? Where was he during the SARS brouhaha? Why was there no reforming actions like he's doing now?

I once played a video of the IGP telling officers to stop searching phones to a police officer.
The police officer called it a bluff, and also continued harassing people.

If it’s not enforced then na just talk as usual

All these are dead on arrival because there won't be a task force set to watch over this. They will still continue sending their boys out for money. Even the IGP is not excluded

Then stop all the returns that go even to IGP.

How can you give vehicle to men and expect them to fuel it with their salary or where do you want them to get the returns from each dept every weekend?

When you're serious in reforming the police let's know but for now, we muuve!!!
