I doubt fighter jets are ideal for this kind of jobs. This should be handled by a special operations team.

If the Israeli commandos could free and take back their citizens taken hostage by terrorists who re-routed their plane to Uganda with little or no civilian casualties, then these bandits are nothing.

These mistakes happen even in the most advanced places.

Not excusable, but also not completely avoidable.

They didn't miss their target. Where u expecting that they will kill bandits, buharis well protected bunch?
If they didn't miss their target, why were the children killed? This is not the first time of their carelessness. They seemed to be unprofessional or are poorly trained.

You can't always get close enough to enemy encampments to precisely gather intelligence accurate enough. You don't always have that advantage.

And like I said earlier, even the most advanced militaries with all the sophisticated intelligence gathering technologies get it wrong too.

Remember Afghanistan last year when the US traced an innocent man to his home and killed him and several members of his family including little children due to faulty intelligence, and even after the event, the US military insisted the target was right, until much later when they apologized?

Shiit happens
