@emexi and d.lee, i dont blame the both of u, now we are now being regarded as being foolish to answer, questions that have been answered several times, no problem. U guys are now 2 proud because u know all these things, forgetting that u were once newbies and asked funny questions. If u know u are wicked and u dont like to help newbies, just ignore the post. 1st i noticed that newbies on this forum were being insulted badly if they asked questions, because of that newbies stop asking questions here, now even the oldies are not even safe because, some people that feel they have 2 brains or are above other humans are now messing with d heads of the oldies. I am surprised people can be so wicked. And i am surprised it was people like d.lee and emexi.
@moderator, pls something has to be done about this trap or game or this people.

Wow! This is incredible!! Ojigbijigbijigbi!!! Mr Bug1234, how can you say a thing like this? We never made you to look like a fool but it is the responsibility of every member of this satellite technology nairaland to make this thread to look tidy. It is not good to sit back and watch this thread depreciate. We have newbie thread where they can put up simple and answered repeated questions. If you have read official free to air satellite tv thread from part 1 - 4, you will find out that all this simple and answered repeated question are few to compare to what we have here now. Everybody is free to put up his/her question here but it should be reasonable question. Please don't feel insulted bro.

@d.lee, u said newbies should not post foolish things here fine, they stopped. But that wasnt enough for u guys u now started mocking other members now by posing as a newbie to ask questions then when people answer u laugh at them, that is very bad. I like to help people no matter the situation or state they are. But some of u are too aloof.
Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Dlee1(m): 11:11am On Mar 25, 2012
@ Bug1234, you are trying to create a scene here. Check my profile, I have never mocked anyone on this forum and I will never mock anyone here despite the situation. Bro, like I said earlier that you should not feel insulted please!
Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Pidzo(m): 11:18am On Mar 25, 2012
I think nobody is trying to make anybody look like a fool here. If it is a general consensus that we should bring sanity to the forum then lets do that. If we agree to make people read before posting then lets do that. If we answer repetitive questions here, will we move forward? NO! Those questions shud go to NEWBIES section and not here. Stop answering the so called SILLY questions here and people will know where to post them. It's not that we don't want to answer people's questions, but we want sanity. Check in the Newbies section, I have answered a lot of 'SILLY' questions there because I know people there don't know much and need assistance (they are new). But for sure, Newbies' material should not be transferred to this section. Apologies if I have offended anybody in the process of making my views known.

this question is directed to all members as a test.

now anwser the above question to the house.
Thank you.

I think pidzo has done justice to the questions... If you feel you will be humuliated for asking silly and repeated questions, please come over to the newbie thread, all your questions will be attended to.

Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by jibrill7(m): 2:15pm On Mar 25, 2012
@ All
some time you would track a sattelite specially C-BAND @ 80 -90 but yet the signal would be flatuating (that is,it will go red and green).
what causes this ?

QPSK/Quadrature phase shift keying/: Is a phase modulation technique that transmits 2bits in 4. While PSK Is a simple digital modulation technique that uses two different angle.therefore.QPSK uses 4 phase shift for each 2bits of input.

Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Dlee1(m): 6:47pm On Mar 25, 2012
@ Jibrill 7, PSK is defined as phase shift key. It is a digital phase that modulate algorithm or rather it is a frequency modulation where the phase of the carrier wave is modulated to encode bits of digital information in each phase change. 8PSK refers to PSK with 8 states and with 8 states you already have QPSK (Quadrature phase shift key) Remember that each PSK is usually with the number of constellation points being a power of two (binary). In summary 8PSK is the same as QPSK and this is a technique used to transmit data by changing the phase of a reference signal mostly commonly for transmitting video and audio via satellie tv carrier wave especially on mpeg2 and 4 format. Just like AM (Amplitude Modulation) which is a technique used in electronic communication mostly commonly for transmitting information via a radio carrier wave, thank you.

Do not try to play angel and potray others as devils. Refer to your post on page 121 on the 12th of March, 2012 or so, you will see that you are the first to castigate Newbies. Telling every body on to ignore Brainy02's question.

"Look at the kind of question brainy02 is asking? Pls lets ignore it. I was trying to help newbies wit answers to some funny questions by referring them to my site, but still they felt too proud now look. Some people like to walk before they learn how to crawl. I will not beg anyone to come to my site from here again. I was just wasting my time"

Fellow Nairalanders let's accept criticism as they come, for criticisms are ment to reinforce our efforts to learn than deviding us.These double standards will only expose our hypocrisy.
Thanks

@simniboma, before u post rubbish things try to read previous posts 1st. When brainy02 asked some funny questions, i asked him to come to my site and i will answer him there without discrimination, because he will be insulted here, but instead he kept on asking more rubbish questions here and talked harshly to me that was trying to help, so i got angry and insulted him back. So clean ur glasses well and read backwards.
I am still working on my site, and i will open it up on 1st of april, i have helped a lot of people already through my forum and i will keep on doing so. I have received hundreads of pms from people thanking me for the forum.

can somebody define the statement (RUBBISH QUESTION) ?
if somebody asked, what is the angle of multitv and you think it has been anwsered ;just refer the person to the refrence point.
that is all.
or you ignore the questioner.but remember the question may be common to you but to the questioner is very important.
we dont have to insult the person or rubbish the question.
please let resist from this .
where is salamanda ? just to mention one member. b'cause of this the G group disapeared.
thank

That's what we have always been saying. The best way to treat such kind of questions is to IGNORE them, DO NOT ANSWER THEM. This will make the poster know where to post them, in the NEWBIES section and not here. In the Newbies Section ALL questions are answered, whether new or repeated. But if we keep on answering repetitive questions like: "How do I track W3A?" will we move forward? Technology is moving forward daily and we need to be discussing those issues and not teaching somebody 'who is lazy' how to install an offset KU band dish to track NSS 12 in this thread. So what will be discussed in the NEWBIES section? People say the question is RUBBISH not because it's senseless, but because it has been posted in the wrong thread. Grade 1 material is surely not for Grade 8 students. Let grade 1 students learn in Grade 1 and progress to other grades. Nothing comes on a silver platter, read and experiment on your own. It's not the duty of us to direct any poster here where to find any needed material, it's the duty of the poster to research before posting (don't be lazy).

Can we move forward now.
Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Pidzo(m): 4:18pm On Mar 26, 2012
obnelly: Cant we ignore and move forward.let anybody post silly things at the end we may all gain from it.we can learn through doing some silly things.to us its silly but to an average newbies that is what is really troubling him and since here is where he can get the solution let us answer them and if not let us just ignore rather than fighting one another.believe it or not those silly questions are what is making this thread active.we are fortunate bcause we all started this thread from 2006.it will be unfair if you ask any nnewbies to read from 2006-2012.if we have the answers let us give it to them or if we have the portion. Or parts we can refer to let us just do that.no matter what any body post no mattet how silly it is let us encourage them later they will post sensible things.just my advise.otherwise let us ignore.
Nobody has said newbies have to read from 2006-2012. I have said that newbies are answered even if their questions are repetitive BUT in the newbies section.

Al Jazeera Expands Audience Over Africa with Eutelsat's 7° West satellite, EUTELSAT 7 West A

DUBAI, UAE and PARIS, March 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Al Jazeera is further consolidating its longstanding relationship with Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL) with a new contract for capacity on the EUTELSAT 7 West A satellite (ex. ATLANTIC BIRD 7) located at 7° West. The announcement was made today at Cabsat Dubai.
Al Jazeera has chosen the new service area on EUTELSAT 7 West A that enables the media corporation to extend coverage across North West Africa to Morocco and as far as Nigeria. Broadcasts have already begun, with nine channels operational, including the flagship Al Jazeera news channels in Arabic and English, as well as documentary, children's and sports channels.

In service since October 2011, the EUTELSAT 7 West A satellite has strengthened Eutelsat's commercial response to broadcasters operating across the Middle East and North Africa. The satellite's widebeam delivers unmatched performance and coverage into over 30 million homes, while the new North-West Africa footprint opens the opportunity for channels to further consolidate their reach.

7° West, the fastest-growing video neighbourhood: TV channels up by 35% in 2011
The 7° West neighbourhood assembles the largest community of satellite TV channels in the Middle East and North Africa. Channels grew by 35% in 2011, reflecting the dynamic of free-to-air and pay-TV, which represent 80% and 20% of the 822 Arab and international channels broadcast by the five satellites operated at 7° West by Eutelsat and Nilesat.

Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL, ISIN code: FR0010221234) is the holding company of Eutelsat S.A.. With capacity commercialised on 28 satellites that provide coverage over the entire European continent, as well as the Middle East, Africa, India and significant parts of Asia and the Americas, Eutelsat is one of the world's three leading satellite operators in terms of revenues. As of 31 December 2011, Eutelsat's satellites were broadcasting more than 4,000 television channels. They also serve a wide range of fixed and mobile telecommunications services, TV contribution markets, corporate networks, and broadband markets for Internet Service Providers and for transport, maritime and in-flight markets. Eutelsat's broadband subsidiary, Skylogic, markets and operates access to high speed internet services through teleports in France and Italy that serve enterprises, local communities, government agencies and aid organisations in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Headquartered in Paris, Eutelsat and its subsidiaries employ just over 700 commercial, technical and operational professionals from 30 countries.
