#TBT The year 1914, when the experiment of the amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorate began. That man Lord Lugard signed the deal. His mistress, gave the new experimental country the name 'Niger-area' because the landscape areas were divided by the famous river Niger. Thus the sinister experiment called Nigeria began. The education loving Yorubas were forcefully married to business loving Igbos and cattle loving Hausa-Fulanis. A central government was in place to enact this forceful marriage. 108 years later, in the year 2022, the people are tired. They are clamouring for a break up. The husbands in the North have maltreated their wives in the West and East so severely that the wives no longer feel like humans. They have been battered. The wives gather in one voice to say 'O to ge' a Yoruba connotation meaning 'Enough is enough' On the corner of the streets, we sighted one of the wives in the middle of the protests. A sturdy looking fair complexioned woman with a tough look. She shared her name as IPOB and with a toothpick in her mouth declared fiercely "Onye ka ị bụ? anyi bu igbo, onweghikwa egwu onye. pụọ ebe a ozugbo!" Our reporters fled! Agitations continue to grow in the East and West. Dissatisfaction and angst against the Husband becomes the order of the day. The fate of the wives however will be decided by the future.
