The Central Bank of Nigeria, on Tuesday, raised the interest rate to 14 per cent.

The new interest rate comes barely two months after the apex bank raised the interest rate to 13 per cent.

This was disclosed by the governor of the apex bank, Godwin Emefiele, after the committee’s meeting at the CBN headquarters in Abuja.

The governor of the apex bank said the hike in interest rate would help tame rising inflation.

Hmm, this government is really on auto-reverse. Buhari's regime will surely be immortalized in our sub-conscious for the wrong reasons. What a national mistake!

When the wicked are in power, the people suffer.
The rate of chronic hunger in many families in Nigeria today with many finding it difficult to buy mere gari to feed their children is testament to Bubu’s desire to finish 9ja kpatakpata.

Tough but interesting times

I just wonder how most parents are managing their homes in these times. Almost everything is heading for the sky.

We really don't need any Prophet to tell us that Nigeria is gradually deteriorating and we have just 2023 to at least stop her further decline.

This is a monetary policy, a contractionary monetary policy for that matter, to reduce the effect of inflation escalated by too much money purchasing few goods orchestrated by easy access to funds via credit shemes.
What this means is that CBN has increased it's interest on loans to commercial banks. Basically, commercial banks will water this down to the general banking populace.
