Guys, allow petrodollar to fool around in his nationalistic ego. You could be right with some stuff about Naija and Ghana but go with facts and don't be blinded by ignorance. Naija's major source of forex is oil and its GDP figure is not mainly oil as you stated, post links if otherwise. Trade between Ghana and Naija(Risky Ross helped out) post links if otherwise, desperately poor Nigerians about 90%(agreed that pov rate is higher in Naija than in Ghana), send links ASAP. Visited Accra and Kumasi early this year and it was evident that Ghana is an out-post of Nigeria with everything Naija everywhere. Delink the growth rate of Ghana's GDP between recent oil exploration and the non oil sector then reply this post.geria with everything Naija everywhere. Delink the growth rate of Ghana's GDP between recent oil exploration and the non oil sector then reply this post.

Ricky_Ross, Can you use your brain for once? You illiterate son of a slut! You gotta get your bleeped up head outta the sand, you freaking cannibal.

Now clearly you need to have your head properly examined so you can stop spewing out trash. Ghana has a large and growing Nigerian population so what the heck if Nigerian newspapers are sold in Ghana. Ghanaian newspapers are sold in many place, including Nigeria and Liberia (to mainly Ghanaian communities). The only Nigerian publication that I see at a few newsstands in Accra is City People, which has a special Ghana edition. Have Ghanaians finished buying the dozens of newspapers produced in Ghana daily to start looking to buy a foreign one? Ask your Nigerian friends in the media. The Ghanaian newspaper system is very difficult to break into, especially if you are not Ghana-based.

Before you start running your mouth again, let me ask you, have you heard of rlg? And where did you get this foolish idea about Zinox? I know more about Zinox than your silly arse. Well, rlg –a Ghanaian-owned and Accra-based computer manufacturing company signed a deals worth several millions of dollars with the Ogun state government to provide computer and ICT knowledge to Nigerians like you. Where was Zinox?

Forget about producing anything in Nigeria. Everything in Nigeria is freaking imported, and that is the truth. Why do you think your ports are always overcrowded? I will never forget what Ojo Maduekwe said some time ago to me a small group. He said apart from the upstream sector of the oil industry, nothing works in Nigeria. And he added, we know why that is the case and we laughed. What he implied was that the upstream sector of the oil industry was only functional because foreigners were running it!

You mentioned weavons and wigs, body creames, soaps. Were they produced in Nigeria. I know in Nigeria, the most sought-after weaveon is a particular type they import from Ghana. I am sure you didn’t know that, huh?

I live in Accra and see it as a shame that some of you Nigerians peddle false information just to massage your ego and make Nigeria appear more important than it is. I lived abroad and returned to Ghana last year to take advantage of the numerous opportunities that exist in my beloved country. What has struck me the most is the number of factories that exist here. There is virtually no field of activity that you won’t see someone manufacturing or at least processing something. And what gives me the greatest joy is to walk into a shop and see that ‘Made in Ghana’ label. Like I said, I live here and shop a lot –I am yet to see those Nigerian goods on sale here-yes, I have seen a few ndomis and stuff, but the impression being created here that Nigerian goods have flooded shops in Ghana is very pathetic!

Again you said most books in Ghanaian schools were written by Nigerians. That is absolutely trash. Indeed the oppositite is the case. I personally know books written by Ghanaians athat are used in Nigerian schools. I wasn’t told this. I saw them with my own eyes. I think there is one or two by Quartey and others I can’t immediately mention. Go do your research very well. The best teachers in Nigeria are still Ghanaians, and this is a fact!

Somebody says every pharmaceutical item in Ghana has a NAFDAC no, meaning they were made in Nigeria. Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? Perhaps I should explain for fickle-minded folks like you. If a company in India produces a drug for sale in West Africa, they will put NAFDAC code on it as well the code of the regulatory body in Ghana, otherwise that drug cannot enter Ghana. NAFDAC registration is not recognized in Ghana. So what is the relevance of a NAFDAC code to products sold in Ghana? If not for the fact that you are hell-bent on seeing Nigeria in every product in Ghana, you would have also seen FDB on the label.

Well, I have seen Nigeria buy more than kente, alomo bitters to sell in our country. I have seen, not heard, them buy shoes, clothes, gold etc etc to sell in Nigeria. They told me it is cheaper here. That is what they said.

greatogwu , what are you doing in Ghana if you don’t think Ghana is making progress? I hope you are not one of those Igbo boys doing yahoo yahoo here? Very soon people like you would be flushed out!

My Dear You Sound Very Pathetic And Angry. Why Not Hug A Transformer Instead Of Talking Rubbish, You Are A Typical Ghanaian, Always Lying About Other African Countries So As To Look Good, But When We Tell You The Ugly Things That Is Happening In Ghana You Start To Get Angry? Out Of Sheer Stupidity And Frustration You Called Me Illiterate And Cannibal? But In Reality, The Simple Truth Remains That Nigeria Is Ghanas Current Colonial Master. We Can Make Ghana One Of Our State If We So Desire. As You Can See, Nigerians Own Much Of Ghana. All The 5 Star Hotels, Banks, Companies, Airlines, Fast Food Chains, Estates Etc All Belong To Nigerians. Ghana Cannot Do Without Nigerians. Your Government Delegates Flood To Nigeria Every Week In The Name Of Business Delegation, Always Begging Our People To Invest In Ghana Since White People Shun Ghana Totally.

You Can Bark As Much As You Like, But You Cannot Send Nigerians Away As You Claim. Instead, It Is Nigerian Government That Chase Thousands Of You Lazy Ghanaians Out Of Nigeria Every Year. Just Last Month Hundreds Of Your Sorry Asses Were Deported Back To Ghana. Why Cant Ghana Retaliate? Simply Because You Cant Afford To Loose Nigerian Investment. Just Incase If It Happens, Remember We Will Never Return To Nigeria With Poverty. Most Nigerians In Ghana Are Already Rich. We Will Go With Our Companies, Private Jets, Banks, Insurance Companies, Manufacturing Companies, Hummer Jeeps And Range Rovers, And By So Doing We Will Send At Least 40% Of Your Your Entire Work Force Into The Unemployment Market. Unlike When We Deported You Very Dark, Very Poor, Extremely Fat, Ugly, Dirty Ghanaians Out Of Nigeria You Guys Were All Packed In Lorries And Trailers With Dirty Ghana Must Go Bags. True Or False?

Now Back To Business. Rlg Is Well Known To Me, Infact I Know Ghana More Than You Bc You Are A Lost Ghanian In Diaspora Who Just Came Back And I Am Ready To Challenge You Anytime, Anyday. Rlg Was Established In February, 2001 As A Mobile Phone Repairs And Sales Agent Under The Name Rogam Links Ghana Limited. I Know Their Shop In Osu And Have Been There With My Wife Last November. Rlg Do Not Manufacture Phones As You Said, They Locally Assemble Mobile Phones And Laptops Made By Huawei Of China And Kzg Of Hong-Kong Which Is Not A Bad Thing. The Owner Of Rlg Is Mr. Roland Agambire From Northern Region Of Ghana. You Have The Guts To Ask Where Is Zinox? There Are A Lot Of Nigeria It Firms In Ghana Which Include Omatek Computers, Progenics Corporation, Computer Warehouse Group, Technology Distribution And Interswitch. Most Atms And Credit/Debit Cards In Ghana Use Interswitch And You Know What That Means, Anyway Lets Concentrate On Zinox Alone. For The Records, 60 Per Cent Of All Government Businesses In Nigeria Are Ceded To Zinox Computers Due To Proven Quality And Capacity.
Zinox Is First Computer Manufacturer In Nigeria To Receive The Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Lab, Whlq Certification.
Rescued The 2006 Nigerian Voters Registration Exercise By Supplying 13,000 Integrated Data Capture Systems (Dcs) To Inec Within 4 Weeks, And Was Highly Commended By The International Community.

The First Bank/Zinox Partnership Has Produced The Single Largest Financing Package For The Purchase Of Computers In Nigeria.

The Nigerian Medical Association Nma, Partnered With Zinox Technologies Limited To Equip Its Members With Computers.
The Pioneer Computer Company To Manufacture Computer Keyboard With The Naira Sign.
Official Computer Brand Of The Commonwealth Heads Of Government Meeting (Chogm) 2003
Official Computer Brand Of The 8th All African Games (Coja) 2003
First Computer Brand In Nigeria To Receive Presidential Endorsement And Acclamation - February 2002.
Unprecedented High Profile Digital Technology Launch On October 9, 2001
Pioneer Exporter Of Computers To Other African Countries, Namely, Niger, Ghana, Gambia, Sierra Leone.
Consistently Rated 2nd Largest Selling Computer Brand In Nigeria By The Authoritative International Data Corporation, Idc.
Only Microsoft Oem System Builder Partner In West Africa.
Largest Intel Partner In West Africa.
Admittance Into The Exclusive Intel Champions Club, As The Only African Company In The History Of Intel.

You See, I Didnt Want To Compare These Two Companies Bc The Difference Is There. But You Just Forced Me To, Rlg Will Need To Work Hard Like 15 More Years To Compete With Zinox. Before You Fools Will Say I'm Lying, Just Go To Official Zinox Website For More Info: Http://Www.Zinoxtechnologies.Com/Landmark.Php

Talking About News Papers, Are You Not Ashamed That All Ghanaian News Papers Are Still Printed In Black And White As If You Are In The Dark Age.
You Must Be A Crazy Lair To Say Nigerians Come To Ghana To Buy Shoes, Clothes To Sell In Nigeria? First Of All, Clothes And Shoes Are Far Cheaper In Nigeria Than Ghana. I Have Boutiques In Both Countries And Can Testify To This. You Know Why Many Ghanaians Come To Lagos To Buy Body Creams And Weavon To Sell In Ghana? Simply Bc The Import Duty In Ghana Is Very Dear. In 2008 I Tried To Bring A Ford Explorer Suv To Tema From Nyc, I Contacted A Ghanian Custom Officer That I Know And You Know The Duty For This Suv? 8,000 Ghana Cedis Which Is More Than $5,000. I Later Shipped The Same Car To Lagos And It Cost Me Just 350,000 ($2,200) To Clear It From The Customs
Talking About Shoes And Stuff. Aba Is The Shoe Manufacturing Headquarters Of West Africa And When You Get There You Will See Mostly Traders From Cameroonian, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal. Also, Gold Is Much Cheaper In Liberia Than Ghana And I Dont Know Why. But Most Nigerians Buy Gold From Dubai And Saudi.

Finally, You Just Exposed Your Ignorance By Calling An Innocent Nigerian 419? What About In Ghana Where Most Of The Youths Are Involved In 419 Scam (Sakawa)? The Nigerian Men That Invented 419 Over 15 Years Ago Are All Alive Today Enjoying Their Wealth Bc They Mostly Use Their Brains, But Your Sorry A/S/S Ghanian Brothers And Sisters Are Using Black Magic (Charms) To Make White People Believe Them Bc They Are Too Dumb To Convince Oyinbo With Natural Wisdom.

Greatogwu, if indeed you live in Accra as you claimed then my advise to you is to start learning to appreciate your host country because your well-being and prosperity in that land is tied to that. This has nothing to do with Ghana or Nigeria, this is about you as an individual. This principle applies to everyone living outside his or her home country. If you learn to appreciate your host country, harbour positive thoughts about that country and even pray for that country you’ll see how prosperous your life in that country will be. I will never stay in a country I don’t have positive feelings about, because it will be extremely unhelpful to me.

I know you are an Igbo man so I have little experience to share with you. In 2004 I went to Awka to see Governor Ngige at Government House. Our meeting lasting well into the night and I had a pounded yam meal with the governor at 2 am. Yes, I didn’t eat much because I wasn’t used to eating that late and certainly not pounded yam at that time. But he told me he was used to eating pounded yam that late. I found that quite intriguing. But what I found even more striking was what happened when I was about to leave for my hotel. I had a driver waiting and thought I could just jump into my car and drive straight to my hotel to get some badly-needed sleep before starting what was going to be an even more hectic day.

When I got out of the Governor’s office, I was told I should wait for a few minutes for the police escort. I thought that was some joke. I realized later that to go out at the time without a police escort will be suicidal. Eventually I was escorted by some heavily armed group of policemen to my hotel.

That was in 2004 when the security situation wasn’t that bad. I shudder to think what people in that region go through today. My Nigerian friend, who is a top lawyer in Abuja from the east, can’t even go to his village in any of his posh cars.

If you live in Accra, as you claimed, at least you can enjoy the fact that you can go to sleep with your two eyes closed. At least you can appreciate the peace and tranquility that you can enjoy in Ghana and thank God for that, even if you see no good in Ghana! You can’t take your personal security for granted. That is my advice for you. If you like take, if you don’t that is entirely your business.

For you Yeske!, I think you are not even worth my time!

Hi everyone, this is my first ever post on this forum and I also registered just today. Matter of fact it was this topic that made me decide to join this forum. I am a Ghanaian, living and working in Accra. I see a lot of Nigerians here and I am sure you guys in Nigeria do see a lot of Ghanaians over there. To me, we are not that different from each other in terms of tradition and the people. But there is always this mistrust among us which I cannot understand though I kid myself into thinking I know the root cause of the mistrust. I think comparatively, Ghanaians are more reserved while Nigerians are very assertive. Both of these traits have their pros and cons and also complement each other very well. I am always aware that Nigerians tend to  see themselves as our (Ghanaians) big brothers, a view which we do not accept. But hey, I like Nigerians just like a lot of Ghanaians do. There might be a few incidents of name-calling here and there but we are one people. We just have too much in common to allow ourselves to be divided. Its nothing but banter.

I have always been against the perception of corruption about Nigerians. Since you have the numbers on your side, there will always be statistics available to spin up corruption allegations against Nigerians. A populous nation will always catch attention whether good or bad. I don't think Nigerians are any more corrupt than Ghanaians. Besides if you have too many people scrambling for the same fixed resources, why wouldn't there be attempts by others to reroute themselves to reaching those resources? Nigeria is a great nation. The people are wonderful except if you are timid, you might feel intimidated by them.

Someone said that thank God we are not Nigerians? Well I say to them that God never thought they were qualified enough to become Nigerians that is why he made them Ghanaians first. I am a Ghanaian and I love it. But I do not mind being a Nigerian since nothing beats that.

My dear God will bless your soul for speaking the truth. You sound very enlightened and speak only but the truth.
I love Ghanaians and see them as my big brothers. I help some of them whenever/wherever I can. I married a pretty cum educated Ghanaian lady from Fante and I relocated her to Nigeria since last year. As you know, Nigeria/Ghana maintains cordial relationship and we inter marry more than any other country I can remember in Africa. It wont be long before you see a half Ghanaian/half Nigerian being the next president of Ghana. But i hate it when some of your brothers see us in flashy cars in Ghana they assume all Nigerians are scammers when in reality a great number of Ghanaians are into 419 scam and sakawa. Why cant they just mind their business? Is there are bad thing we Nigerians do that Ghanaians dont do, from scam to prostitution and drug dealing.

I have tried many times to find out the truth about this Ghana/Nigeria rivalry? Ghana was the first nation to deport Nigerian citizens during the Busua admin. Nigeria retaliated later on during the Ghana must go era. I thought we people have buried the past behind us? Each time i ask my Ghanian friends why they think most Ghanaians hate Nigerians I get conflicting answers. A guy once told me it is because Nigerian men come to Ghana with nothing but within one year you see them driving big cars and marrying the prettiest Ghanian ladies and that Nigerian women dont marry Ghana men they way Nigerian men marry Ghana women? Does that make any sense? If you need a Nigerian woman why not go to Nigeria? The few Nigerian girls you see in Ghanaian schools are from rich homes and spoilt. You may not have the qualities they are looking for. Is that enough reason to even hate one?

Another guy told me to count all the big fast food chains in Ghana, mr bigs, one the run, tantalizers, chicken republic, papaye etc, and all the big companies, they belong to Nigerians. As a result, some Ghanians feel Nigerians are dominating/intimidating them in their own country and they dont like that. I ask again, is that enough reason to hate us?

I see this hatred more on the internet. In reality the hatred is not stopping our both countries from doing good business together. Last week two Nigerian oil companies got license to operate in Ghana's oil industry. What i dont like is the way our Ghana brothers sit down and not take advantage of Nigeria's huge population. I would like to see lots of Ghanian companies competing in all areas of Nigeria's economy just like Nigerian's are doing in Ghana. The owners of Alomo Bitters in Ghana are making hell of money in Nigeria. Their gin bitters was introduced into the Nigerian market just last year but it is already very popular. I wish other Ghanian companies will follow suit.
Re: Ghana Is Currently The World's Fastest Growing Economy! Where Naija? by PetroDolla: 4:30am On Aug 19, 2011
Ricky_Ross, you obviously don’t know Nigerian authorities make it very difficult, if not impossible for Ghanaians to do business in Nigeria. If you talk to Ghana exporters they will tell you the hassles they face exporting to Nigeria. There is a lot of hostility within Nigeria towards Ghanaians. For a long time, Nigeria arbitrarily placed embargo on the import of variety of goods from Ghana. I am not therefore surprised trade between the two countries is extremely low-outside oil and gas.

I see a lot more hatred among Nigerians towards Ghanaians than I see in Ghanaians vice versa. I know most of you will try to deny this, but that is the truth. I know what I am talking about. For me when anything I say about Nigeria is based on personal knowledge, not hearsay or third-party information. There is nothing about Nigeria I don’t know. There is no part of Nigeria I have not been to. Port Harcourt,Enugu,Owerri,Awka,Onitsa,Benin,Warri,Kano,Kaduna,Maiduguri,Yola,Makurdi,Wukari,Jos,Ibadan, Katsina,Lagos, Abuja and of course several more towns and cities. I visited some of these places a couple of times in the course of my official duties in Nigeria. I met a good number of your leaders as well as ordinary Nigerians. I saw and heard enough to know that Nigerians don’t like Ghanaians, period. I am not talking about me personally because I got the respect I deserved. But I am talking generally. So for me, I don’t need anyone to come to the Internet and talk about how Nigerians and Ghanaians are brothers and stuff. I used to think like that. How we are all Africans and brothers and stuff. No more. For me a Ghanaian is a Ghanaian, a Nigerian is a Nigerian, period. Nobody should come preaching about brotherliness and stuff like that. I know a brother when I see one.

You are being rather simplistic with a serious issue if you suggest the hostility is all about Nigerian women and stuff. And you seem to suggest Ghanaian men find it difficult to date Nigerian women. I think that is ridiculous, at least not based on my personal experience.

I have a Nigerian renting my house in Accra. I have also helped a lot more Nigerians that I have helped Ghanaians. What puts me off is the Nigerian tendency to assume they are better than everybody else!

Georessah, you can’t make any conclusive observations about Nigerians based on those you meet in Ghana. Of course I haven’t met any nasty Nigerian in Ghana, and I don’t expect to meet one (at least in Ghana). It is an entirely a different story back in Nigeria. I remember in 2009 I was in Abuja, and being a sports lover my favourite station was Brilla FM. That station had a particular presenter called Ignis Armah who simply loved to play Ghana music whenever he was on. And it was quite amazing the reactions he used to get. People will call in to ask are you a Ghanaian, did you live in Ghana and stuff like that. Must you live in Ghana or be a Ghanaian to play Ghanaian music on Nigerian radio? I remember an instance when callers actually called in to say please take off the Ghana music and play something else! This is just one small example of the several first-hand experiences of unbridled hostility.

I also want to correct the impression that Ghana deported and Nigeria also deported. The truth is that Nigeria carried out mass deportations twice-in 1983 and 1985.

@petrodollar, are you are not aware of the mass deportation of Nigerians under Busia?

This was way before Nigeria deported Ghanaians.

I have never met a Nigerian who hates Ghanaians, many dislike the way Ghanaians treat Nigerians, but were you expecting a fan fare, or a round of applause in return?

Many Ghanaians actually hate Nigerians, I have seen this wherever I have come into contact with them, whether in the UK, USA or Ghana.

Many do not waste time in informing you just how they feel towards Nigerians.

Nigerians do not generally hate whole nationalities, that would be considered extreme and irrational.

You always sound very bitter and angry when discussing Ghana/Nigeria issues, in that case I would advise you go hug a transformer. Nobody is begging you to love Nigerians or anyone else. The wise ones among you will always love us since their hatred cant stop us. You cant curse whom the lord has blessed, period,

A Nigerian guy is renting your house in Ghana and you think you are helping him? Let me ask you, if you dont rent your house to him, wont he get accommodation elsewhere? You should thank him for renting your house man. When i talk about the Ghanians that i have helped i am talking about doing something other Ghanians could not do for them. Like sending them to school and giving some of them jobs both in Ghana and Nigeria. Some of these people are from my wife village, some i just met on the streets. For instance, there is this 16 years old girl i met 3 years ago in Accra. She was working in a chop bar. One day i asked her what her name is and why shes not in school. Anyway she revealed she doesn't know who her parents are. She was told her mom had 3 children from an unknown man and one day she dumped all 3 of them in her friends house and disappeared into thin air. This happened 10 years ago. Needless to say i and my wife agreed to enroll this girl in school. Shes very brilliant and will live to give her story one day.

As for Nigerians not wanting to listen to Ghana music. The answer is simple. Most Ghana musicians sing in local dialect, Twi. I am sure if you play any music by VIP Nigerians will love it. VIP is the most popular Ghana musician here, and i think they live in Lagos since last two yrs. Last year i brought some of Sakordie CD and even though he is a fast/good rapper, none of my friends wanted to play his CD again bc they are all in Twi. Not bc he is a Ghanian, but bc he sings in a language we dont understand. I know Ghanians love Nigerian musics like craze. I do go to Nite clubs in Ghana and notice the crowd will usually go wild every time there is Nigerian music. Its simple, bc the Nigerian musicians are good and they use English/pidgin.

As for your hatred on Nigerians, please dont stop, but i can promise you it will do you more harm than good. I wonder if anyone is begging you to love Nigerians? Your love or hatred cant change nothing. Since i noticed Ghanas hatred towards Nigerians I have started to redress my footsteps. I only love those that love us and hate those that hate us. I can never love my enemy.

In one of your post you claim you will chase Nigerians out? I have been hearing that same old s//h/i/t from toothless bulldogs like yourself since 5 years ago and till now nothing has happened. To be honest I would love to see that happen, so we see who will loose. Nigerian students in Ghana alone contribute hundreds of Millions of dollars to your economy. Lets get this started, start killing Nigerians today and I will be the first to kill thousands of Ghanians in Nigeria, lets see where it will lead us. In simple terms, Ghana needs Nigeria more that we need Ghana, and as such, Ghana cannot afford to loose Nigeria.

Ricky_Ross:

My dear God will bless your soul for speaking the truth. You sound very enlightened and speak only but the truth.
I love Ghanaians and see them as my big brothers. I help some of them whenever/wherever I can.  I married a pretty precipitate educated Ghanaian lady from Fante and I relocated her to Nigeria since last year.

Ricky_Ross, well I sat straight up on my chair when I read you had married a fante lady. Haha, and an educated one at that. You know they say fante ladies are very sophisticated and you better know your game else you will be left feeling like a bodyguard to them. I am a fante myself so I have seen bits and pieces of such but I think on the whole, it is nothing but stereotype.

I think you are right in saying that Ghanaians feel they are under economic siege (my choice of words though) by Nigerians who seem to have "invaded" the country. But so have Lebanese, Indians, Chinese, Koreans and other nationalities been doing brisk business here. Once your business is legitimate, why shouldn't you be allowed to run it? Why must we favour Koreans over the Chinese, Lebanese over Indians, Ivorians over Nigerians? Business is business. The government I am sure is doing a lot to protect local businesses and to me it is enough. Carrying it out to any further extent is Xenophobia, pure and simple. Even among us Ghanaians, people turn to love or loathe the Ashantis and the Kwahus for being business-minded. You see a lot of Ashantis and Kwahus in Accra owning businesses and properties while the "land-owners" who are Gas are left to the shores and coastal dwelings. Who is to be blamed if you refuse to take advantage of the opportunities that abound around you? By the way, Ricky_Ross, I understand the Gas migrated from Ile-Ife In your homeland to Ghana so they must be your own people. So I wonder why they are not as business-minded as you Nigerians. The Ashantis and Kwahus are more like you than the Gas.

You know the blacks are always complaining about their welfare in America while the Latino immigrants, Koreans, Indians and other minorities take advantage of the numerous opportunities the American system offers. So, if my people wouldn't rise up and establish businesses because they are afraid to dare, then they shouldn't complain about other people who take the bull by the horn and invest. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If some Nigerians are involved in illegal businesses in Ghana, I trust the local authorities to deal with them. However, I believe the majority are doing the right thing therefore this erroneous perception created to make all-things Nigerian as bad is just the imagination of a small group of lazy people. These are lazy thoughts which do not involve critical analytic thinking.

I am sure, my people need to do some national service in Nigeria right after tertiary to toughen them up and make them more assertive in life. Humility and modesty in penury is not an admirable thing. As much as I love our laid-back attitude, I hate it as an excuse not to get up and do things. I know some Ghanaian businesses are operating and doing well in Nigeria. Its a global village, and in this case a global compound house, so you go where you believe you can thrive. I saw a lot of Nigerians on campus during my university days and to me it was rather a statement of the quality of education that we offered here. Others saw it as an "invasion" when the same people were happy to see whites around. Double-standards? Well, I knew the Nigerians didn't give a damn what the people thought. Haha, that's the Nigerian!

@georessah thanks for your concern but those are mere stereotypes just the same way some Ghanaian friends told me not to marry Ashante girls bc they kill their husband to inherit his wealth. This is common in most African countries, every tribe claims to be better than the other. My wife is a nice woman and she understands that a woman is there to support and compliment her husband and not to compete with him,

What Ghanaians think about Nigerians or what Nigerians think about Ghana/Ghanaians isn't going to change the fortunes of any of these countries. Ghana will be Ghana and Nigeria will be Nigeria. It is entirely my prerogative to like or not to like any particular group of people. I don't give a damn what any one thinks! Nigeria has its own problems just as Ghana, as a matter of fact I believe whatever problem Ghana has, one can find it in Nigeria multiplied a million times. Yet some of you clueless people would want to sit here and post rubbish. Yet, chances are that a Nigerian will hardly go to next door Cameroon,Benin or Niger. They are always coming to Ghana because they feel welcomed, huh? And what do we get in return? Outright scorn and insults at the least opportunity. Go to to the beginning of this particular thread and see how this whole nonsense unfolded. Some wimps simply went bersek because a story that sought to portray Ghana in good light had been posted.

Ghana deported Nigerians in the 1960s, and Nigeria followed with two mass deportations in 1983 and 1985. We are talking about TWO mass deportations by Nigeria here. Ghana needs to balance the score and I see it coming soooner than you think! Don't give a damn! All of you can go hug a fucking transformer! Oops just forgot transformers in Nigeria often lie fallow! Damn!

You are a clown if you dont know millions of Nigerians are living in Cameroon, Niger and every other African country. I was in Kazakhstan last year for something and i was surprised to find alot of Nigerians teaching in that small country. Nigerians are scattered all over the world. Have you not heard if you go to any country and you dont find a Nigerian you should foking get out.
So you mean Nigerians should lick your a/s/s simply bc they are living & working in Ghana, What about the huge population of Ghanians that are living and working in Nigeria? Infact it is you Ghanians that should be very very very grateful to Nigerians for investing in Ghana and providing jobs for you people. I am aware Ex president Kuffour wasted millions of dollars traveling all over the world begging for Foreign Investment but yet the white men shun Ghana, it is only the Nigerians and Chinese/Indians that have the courage to invest in Ghana, so give us some credit and stop being arrogant.

You are the one that sounds very bitter about Nigerians so you should foking go hug a transformer as we dont give a hoot about you, Did any Nigerian beg you for friendship? Dont make it sound as if Nigeria needs Ghana. It is your stupid Ghana investment commission or whatever they are called that flood to Nigeria every week, begging for Nigerian investment, always promising us tax holidays, free this and that. Next time i might stone your silly government officials in Lagos or Abuja so they dont come back, pls tell your government officials to go to Europe or America and beg for foreign investment since Ghana citizens dont want Nigerian investments. Not long ago your officials were at Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing company, Nigeria promising them lots of crap so they can move to Ghana. Why didnt your government officials go to TATA Motors of India or another country

Ghana was the first country that started deporting Nigerians massively in the 1960s and Nigeria retaliated in 1983 and 1985. You dont see anything wrong with your people sending Nigerians away yet you criticize Nigeria for retaliating? You are biased just like most of your brothers and sisters, If you dont like it start sending Nigerians home immediately and we will do the same, lets see who will loose at the end of the day. I have been hearing this your empty threat since 5 years ago and till now nothing has happened. Infact it is Nigerian government that has been deporting Ghanaian criminals from Nigeria. Just last month hundreds of them were deported as well. When are you gonna retaliate or are you just a toothless bulldog? I wanna see the two elephants fight, lets see who will suffer,

Finally this is a Nigerian forum, so if you have any Ghana news, whether good or bad news please go to Ghanaweb or any other Ghanaian website. Even Ghanaweb, the only active Ghanaian forum is owned by a white guy from Amsterdam, Holland, Just so you know this forum is owned by a proud Nigerian.

Why people keep fighting over who's who between nigeria and ghana and bringing in insults for that matter baffles me. ki ni gbo gbo ele yi?

In any case i think the rivalry doesnt speak well of both peoples. of course if nigeria is the big brother then whats all the argument about ask yourself, why doesnt ghana get into a rivalry with smaller african nations?

personally i take a totally different view of the issue. both countries have been blessed by God so what is there for any of them to brag about? which nigerian put oil or which ghanaian put gold in any of their lands?

i think ghanaians are not as ambitious and adventurous as nigerians, but they are far more honest and peaceful, (and yes, I soooo hate stereotyping)

lets face it, nigerians can be greedy and selfish and dubious in their quest for wealth. i think the whole of nigeria can do with a little more accountability.

who wouldnt fall in love with the ghanaian socio-political environment?

The problem with Ghanaians is that they should stop comparing themselves with Nigerians. Let's forget about the populations, oil money, that's what God has blessed this country with and nothing is taking that away not even our bad leaders. Ghanaian's naturally hate our guts and I figured out maybe the problem has a lot to do with "Ghana must Go" When Rawlings was in power, the Ghanaians perfectly concealed their hatred for any other countries that was residing there at the time and there were many like:- the Liberians, Serria Loanias(speak broken English just like Nija),Togo,Abidjan and so on . The era was when war was going on in some of this countries and Ghana was a safe heaven for this refugees but all this was because of the then government soon after Rawlings regime the ghanaian s found their freedom of speech (FOS)hence their fury at the nigerians who lives there now. Apart from companies and banks from Nigeria that's flourishing there, it is very difficult for a Nigeria to operate individual business in Ghana once they knows that the business belong to nigerian they'll automatically stop patronizing. This is the fact.
Then the problem with the nigerians is their unbearable ego, showing off at every whims forgetting that when you are in Rome you behave like the Romans is another reason Ghanaians detest them. Nigerians like to express themselves at all occasions and this is not going well with there sister country. The truth is that this rich but poor country is feeding all other countries in West African if not beyond whatever happens to Nigeria indirectly affect the whole WA. All the products mentioned are being produced for WA because Ghanaian traders buy mostly from Republic of Benin and Togo. before it's very difficult to get a fake pharmaceutical products in Ghana, its comes directly from Germany but all that has changed. My prayer is that with all the problems Nigeria is facing now there should be no War if not Petrodolla will see more Nigerians trooping in to his country every seconds but I think you should do your math and check how many ghanaians are living in Nigeria. we should learn how live and tolerate each other for the best of this continent.
