The bulk of the Northern elements in APC are secretly working for Atiku to emerge President and then take over APC when he wins as President and continue. They can't stand a Southerner being President for another 8 years of political wilderness for many of them having benefitted immensely from a Northern President. They don't trust Tinubu or his Yoruba brothers and are in bitter rivalry with the Igbos since the 60s, so their best bet is to support Atiku, a pure Muslim Fulani oligarch from the North than vote Obi or Tinubu. Wike even confirmed that people in villa promised Atiku victory.

Only in Nigeria would a political party, APC, which in 8 years reduced the country to harboring the largest number of poor and hungry people, most insecure in the world, ask the hungry, poor and insecured people to vote the political party for another 4 years term.
