PRESS RELEASE
DSS CALLS FOR CALM

The Department of State Services (DSS) has received several enquiries relating to the security advisory issued by the US Embassy in Abuja, today, 23/10/22. The public may recall that the Service had variously issued similar warnings in the past.

While advising that necessary precautions are taken by all and sundry, the populace is enjoined to remain alert and assist security agencies with useful information regarding threats and suspicious criminal acts around them. Meanwhile, the Service calls for calm as it works with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to maintain peace and order in and beyond Abuja.

Well, since you have arms and amunitions all around your home and offices, it's easy to tell others to calm down and wait.

Guns should be sold in every supermarket for people to defend themselves.

Why Abuja? If US learned of an impending attack why not share the info and help prevent it ? This is fear mongering ... and the DSS is not helping. DSS can't come and issue that notice to citizens that is impending terror attack but US could do that since this is not their country. US probably got the information from Nigeria security agency, US is only acting based on the security tips

Does DSS share protests Intel with US embassy?
Their job is to keep Nigeria one and they have no response mechanism for real issues. That's why anytime a bad thing happens, they end up claiming they shared Intel about the impending danger but never foiling it. Example is Abuja-Kaduna train attack and abduction.
