Where is the gas coming from?
it originates from Niger Delta but the station is now in Ajaokuta where they will start the connection. From Ajaokuta to Kaduna and Kano! Our gas, our oyel!

Apparently any community where oil pipelines snakes through is an oil producing community. They enjoy same blend of benefits the 'real' oil community from the southern side of the country.

The bill is PIB. Buhari signed it into law in 2021.

Yeah. Southerners wailed but it was in vain
hmm

sounds like an incentive to prevent miscreate from tapping the lines (bunkery)
anyhow it doesn't make then Oil producing communities which officially makes them partakers of NDDC and their loots.

[quote author=HERITAGEFASHION post=120674782]The AKK natural gas pipeline is intended to boost Nigeria’s electricity generation capacity by adding 3,600MW of power to the national grid and provide electricity in the northern part of the country with supply from the south.

Seems am the only one that read "supply from the south"
You don't have oil but you built a refinery in Kaduna.
Some elements of the northern leaders are evil and heartless. [/quote

You forgot to add....'and greedy asf as well'! From 1970 to date next to nothing has been done for or in the south-east (formerly East Central State), while they've grabbed all manner of multi-billion dollar federally-enabled projects to the north (steel coy; steel rolling mills; refinery; int'l airports; new railway lines and stations; dams; etc)! Then they wonder why Igbos' are not happy with their 'one Nigeria'!

What has the East ever given the South?

Biafra man living in Ikotun

The east is giving your parasitic 'one Nigeria' free oyel and gas, you this ungrateful schmuck! Where are you from....your state/region?

pocom16:

exactly..
this pipeline is dedicated to reduce the rate at which gas is flared across the country

Dangote built the World Largest sub sea pipeline in world which connects oil and gas rich fields in the south south to his refinery...this alone allows 3 billion cubic feet of gas to be transported to his refinery this will act as feedstock for his refinery and generate over 400MW of power .in the past to this would have been flared..

Do you get the idea now?

Why didn't he build his refinery in the so called south-south instead of spending extra money to build pipelines that will suck the oil to Lagos? Or you think the south-south people don't like good thing as well?

The southerners are being cheated daily. Mineral resources from the north like Gold, TIN, & uranium are being mined are exported with the proceeds going only to the northerner states. They are making so much funds from gold & uranium.

Since the project started in 2020, how much has your Itshekiri Community leaders called and paid into your account?
Does that mean it isn't being paid?

You don't expect them to give up fooling around when they're satisfied with crumbs that falls from the table.

I blame all southern leaders. It's just a pity. I respect the northerners for their unity in achieving a set goal.

There is no gas pipeline from imo to Lagos oga absolutely none as a pipeline engineer Nigeria has master plan n gas pipeline map is what I know

The only active gas fields in imo is ASA field ...before FG Igbos are developing it it's would generate 5000Mw to Igbo land
Everything you do is to shout 'Igbo, Igbo, Igbo'. Please get rid of these tribalistic tendencies because even if you people actualize Biafra, you'll simply move to another form of tribal superiority by dividing Igbo into 'free and osü'.

COCOA,PALMOIL AND SLAVES.... I DIDNT SEE SUGARCANE OR SUYA

How can you mention slaves and not be ashamed.

Western Nigeria - Cocoa
Eastern Nigeria - Palm products
South South (Delta state precisely) - Rubber
Northern Nigeria - Groundnut, Cotton, Hides and skins, Gum Arabic, solid minerals (you know tin mines in Jos?) etc

It is his refinery and his choice of where to build it ...

I guess he considered Niger delta militant especially during the time they were hot as well as entitled locals in such states..

Besides lands were already available by the state government through LFTZ to be used.. if it were to be south south...there would have been land clashes.

Dangote also wanted to build his own sea port
.

Above all .. he is obligated to build it in the south south regardless of when the oil comes from...as far as he isn't getting the oil for free

ORDINARY GOLD WE DONT GET FOR FREE DOWN SOUTH.. THIS NONSENSE MUST KUSI BIKO

DOES AJAOKUTA HAVE GAS?

NDI ALA

The gas will be coming from Imo State, they are trying to hide it, the writeup is total rubbish.

The South East will be supplying gas to the North and South West.

Stop fooling yourself, do we have only four regions in Nigeria? Why did you divide the Southern regions and unite the Northern regions?

Unlike Rubber that came from Delta state, groundnut for example did not come from one state or region of the north. Groundnut is farmed in the North West, North Central and North East.

Where/how exactly did some of you on this thread arrive at this flawed conclusion that the gas is from the south east? People wey get gas never complain, na people wey wan claim the gas dey complain pass. Abeg you guys should stop embarrassing Igbos abeg.

Besides, if I have a commodity in my backyard and I'm not using it currently, there's absolutely nothing wrong in having it sold for cool money instead of just burning it away with flares which end up damaging my environment (this is what has been happening for over 60 years since these pipelines have not been built).

All this opposition to the gas being piped across Nigeria or for export is just born out of IGNORANCE and bigotry.

The level of ignorance is alarming.
