the whole Zikist "believing in Nigeria" idealogy was based on a belief that the ibos would dominate Nigeria. It was based on a false believe that the North were backward and they could sideline the west and align with the "backward" North and dominate the rest of Nigeria. They failed to recognize the political acumen of the Northerners.

it was never based on a love for Nigeria or other Nigerians but a view that Nigeria was a country that ibos could dominate and rule over.

Well the North eventually dominated Nigeria. No matter how one looks at it, Nigeria eventually got dominated anyway

thanks to the ibos who removed the right to referendum and turned Nigeria from a federation to a unitary system of govt and gave the center control of regional resources under ironsi.

the bane of Nigerias problem today (power in the center and the inability to leavethe union) and the so called northern domination was a product of just 6 months of Ibo rule under ironsi. The Northerners could never have done it on their own, they simply inherited what was created by ironsi and didnt change it...why would they?

Just as flatin0s claim they would have voted for Osinbajo if he was the one contesting instead of Tinubu....

90% of Yorubas too would have voted 1st Class Soludo instead of 3rd Class Dullard called Obi.

Yorubas are sophisticated and intelligent. We can't be ruled by a GCE holder who ran from Anambra he governed to Lagos of Tinubu.

Sophisticated gutter water drinkers. I guess Tinubu is a Prof.

is it a lie? today you shout referendum, who removed the right to referendum that the British left us with? who changed Nigeria from a federation of regional units to a unitary system and most critically removed control over the resources of the regions to the center. Who deliberately connived with the north to create the Mid-west region to weaken the western region?

please answer these questions or shut your dirty stinking mouth.

Try be sound for once in your life not because of hatred, politics is not do or die, that man you call 3rd class actually graduated with a 2.2 the certificate was shown online. Aside that he had trained in all Ivy League universities, chairman banks, sec, went on to build businesses, companies. If a 3rd could have that kind of CV, better have, Obi resided In Lagos when he was bank chairman, Lagos house all headquarters, you fucking know that, apart from that, he had reside in anambra during governor and after been a governor, if you prove me he lived permanently in Lagos after governorship, I owe you.

Take a look sat there CV, if a 3rd can acheive that, then soludo can lick his first class, because he would be more sound than soludo in business, corporate. And in banking they would be mate.

Well, Ironsi never introduced unitary system and he never tampered with the resource control of the 4 Regions throughout the 6 months he was in power. It was Gowon that came after Ironsi and used decree 14 to abolish all 4 Regions, created 12 states to replace them, then followed it up with decree 15 that abolished resource control

What makes me laugh however is that when Gowon was implementing this unitary rule, Ojukwu and the East rose up, declared Biafra and fought to resist it

What did the rest of Nigeria do? They followed the North to fight Ojukwu so as to make sure that Gowon implemented the unitary rule that would keep Nigeria under Northern domination

Its just laughable

answer simple questions. Everything you are fighting for (resource control, referendum etc) we had, everything you are fighting for you are the ones who removed when you were in power for 6 months. why did you remove it? Because you wanted to dominate the other tribes. Why do people not trust Ibos, why is it difficult to acheive ibo presidency and ibo control of armed forces because we know your intentions, we saw what you did, you have already shown your hand.

"Sunday May 24th was the 54th Anniversary of the Promulgation of decree number 34 by Major General Johnson Thomas Umanakwe Aguiyi Ironsi (3rd March 1924- 29th July 1966). Few people remembered. It was the decree that transferred all the autonomous power of the four regions then to the centre. The regions then were Northern Region, Eastern Region, Western Region and Mid-Western Region. Decree 34 came into force on 24th May, 1966. "

There was never a time referendum was in the constitution of Nigeria. Do your self a favour and Google Ironsi's decree 34 rather than acting like an ignoramus and believing what other people told you

It is laughable when some people are comfortable with Nigeria being dominated by the North, but only remember that domination is bad if it has to do with Igbos grin grin grin They are the same people who remember Ironsi's decree 34 that did not abolish the 4 Regions nor stop resource control, but totally forget Gowons decree 14 and 15 that abolished all 4 Regions as well as abolished resource control. One rule for the Northerner, another rule for the Igbo man. Thats the fraud known as "one Nigeria"

it shows i am dealing with an idiot, an ignoramus, an educated illiterate. How do you think the midwest region was created…….by decree? Referendum and the right to seceede (aka right to self determination) was specifically inserted for the sake of the North who didnt want to be a part of Nigeria. Dont forget Nigeria was to have been independent in 1957, it was delayed to 1960 to accommodate the North who feared (rightly as events would show) domination by the south.

you people are really ignorant!!!!

I suggest before you comment to anything I post you read up because you are not dealing with your typical ignorant Nairalander here. The 1960 and 1963 constitutions are available online to download…as well as the ironsi and Gowon era decrees. Do your homework before responding to me, I don’t post without doing mine. So far you are coming across as an imbe cile!

A simple google search would have saved egg in your face!! slowpoke

Onyizi, that's the simple truth. Zik left the Igala that were trying to occupy his territory only to come & be fighting to be the first premier in the West until the Yoruba showed him pepper. He then went back to the East & remove Prof Eyo Ita (an Efik man) who was then the Premier of Eastern Region. In 1959, he teamed up with the Northern dominated party to become a ceremonial president. Same thing he did in 1979 & 1983. Yet the Ibo would always called Yoruba the betrayer bc they didn't allow Ojukwu to cross Ore to capture Lagos using a Yoruba man who he later executed unjustly. God is the ultimate judge.

Igbos of nowadays read wrong pages of history.

Who betrayed who?

The single deed of selfishness Zik made is an error that follows Igbos like a shadow.
He sold the rest of us to fulanis.

The clause of secession Awolowo suggested would have put an end to all the struggle to be independent peoples with self determination.
