Blue3k:

I don't think oil ever contributed to 90% of GDP. It was how ever 90% of exports. I haven't looked in awhile to see if that's changed.
I'm shocked at his statement.

Does it really mean that adesina does not know the difference between GDP and Revenue or he's just deliberately trying to deceive?

If the former is true, then the Buhari led FG is a dangerous joke.

Is this man so dumb? He doesn't know the difference between GDP, GNI and source of revenue for Government,.
Oil remains 78% of government revenue for budget, that has never changed, oil has never accounted for more than 20% of Nigeria GDP that also has not changed, people knowing nothing about what that talking about coming on TV is abysmal, nothing has changed Infact its worse with our debt to GDP ratio.. Agriculture, service and transportation is over 60% of Nigerian GDP before PMB came in and it's still the same, until Nigeria can harness its dues from those sectors, not money going into agbero hands in transportation, no tax in Agriculture be it heading or farming to various service sectors can we say we are truly a tax paying country to fund our budget.
78% of government revenue is funded by crude oil... Femi Adeshina should stop talking and and rest his time is due to relax if he does not know what to talk about or have nothing to talk about for his service for the last 8 years.

NB:spokesperson and Attorney General of Nigeria has always been one of the problem of this county right from day one chukwumereje, femi fani Kayode, okupe, this one with Garba, adeniyi was fair, orfornagoro... Am sure I dìde get the name right, all that AGs from 1999 except bọlá igẹ wéré Are despicable. Andoakaa, malami, adoke, under Akin olujimi, kanu Agabi, bello ojo... Various unlawful things happened under them, 12 people impeaching a governor, various countless atrocities.. And this spokesmen, I will single out Dora Akunyili the Amazon... All others from TOS Benson in the 50s from ikorodu till now just say anything they feel like saying and not facts.

Buhari’s failures as president is monumental and unprecedented in Biblical proportions!
I have never seen anyone destroy so much undeserved goodwill!

Truly oil is no longer the voque

He has diversity to banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and criminality

Those diversity economy is booming

You forgot POS. Before Buhari the banks and ATM were the only place you could withdraw money, but with Buhari there is a POS operator every 50 meters, in some places every 10 metres, where we have to pay N200 to withdraw 1000 of our own money.

What diversification?

Perhaps, it is the diversification into international borrowing.

Oil has historically been a major contributor to Nigeria's GDP. In 2019, oil accounted for 9% of Nigeria's GDP. However, the contribution of oil to GDP has been declining in recent years, due to a number of factors, including the global decline in oil prices and the rise of other sectors of the Nigerian economy, such as agriculture and manufacturing.

Yes, oil was once over 90% of exports. In 2005, oil accounted for 92% of Nigeria's exports. However, the contribution of oil to exports has also been declining in recent years, due to the factors mentioned above. In 2019, oil accounted for 65% of Nigeria's exports.

The decline in the contribution of oil to GDP and exports is a cause for concern for the Nigerian economy. Oil is a major source of government revenue and foreign exchange earnings. The decline in oil revenue has led to a decline in government spending, which has had a negative impact on economic growth. The decline in oil exports has also led to a decline in the value of the Nigerian naira, which has made it more expensive for Nigerians to import goods and services.

The Nigerian government is taking steps to diversify the economy and reduce its reliance on oil. However, it will take time for these efforts to bear fruit. In the meantime, the Nigerian economy is likely to continue to be vulnerable to fluctuations in the global oil market.
