Onoja, Asuku Withdraw From Kogi Guber Race As Bello Endorses Ododo

Edward David Onoja, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State has withdrawn from the Kogi All Progressives Congress (APC) Primary slated for tomorrow.

The ruling Party had announced the Direct Primary will be the mode of Primary to produce the Candidate who will fly the Party's flag in the November 11 Governorship Election.

Following a Stakeholders meeting, the outgoing Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello revealed his preferred successor to be a former Local Government Auditor General, Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Ododo hails from the same Kogi Central Senatorial Zone as the outgoing Governor.

Alongside Onoja, others who have withdrawn from the race are: Mohammed Abdulkareem Asuku (the Governor's Chief of Staff), David Adebanji Jimoh; a former Commissioner for Finance, Asiwaju Ashiru Idris; Okala Yakubu, and Momoh Jubril.

If dino wins the ticket, pdp will become weaker for it. Pdp will have little or no chance to win. Personally, I would have wanted a reignition of zoning accords on kg state.

Yahaya Bello must be joking. He’s either insane or deliberately planning for APC’s defeat. Another Ebira man cannot succeed him; power should move to Kogi east or west.

I don't want to beleive this but the APC and yahaya bellow should know that recycling the power withing one territory is repeating the same politics of bitterness the Igala played.
Secondly yahaya bello should know that the igbiras are not overwhelming the majority in kogi, he needs friends.
It would be sellable if he had zoned to the kaaba people of kogi while retaining the support of the igbiras people would be more appealing in the state.
The igbiras are not the strongest in kogi and it would be wrong not having friends.
