In Jake Clifford’s vicious and treacherous report in News Week which was infamously decorated with the caption, “Please Don’t Damage My Government, Anger In Aso Rock As President Tinubu Screams On His Son, Seyi Tinubu” on June 6, 2023. This story is not just misleading but baseless, unfounded, unsupported by any factual substance, also puts the professional competence of the writer in doubt.

To openly spread lies about the president and his son (Seyi Tunubi) whose effort, hard work, and commitment to success of his father before, during (was seen and commended by all, opposition inclusive), and after the February 2023 generally election. Everything in the article points out to the fact that Clifford is a hired pen mercenary, who is acting like a messenger of doom with no modicum of dignity and decency but only to play the role of “pencil” in the hands of mischief makers who are angry that Tinubu’s government started on a worthy and good note (both in governance, mending fences with opposition, and promoting unity among Nigerians) and who are desperately looking for any alternative ways to discredit Tinubu led government.


Clifford satires are bland and devoid of substance. For instance, he claimed “Part of the anger brewing, according to IgbereTV (a TV that is use as a channel spreading smear campaign against Seyi) is that Seyi Tinubu wants to appoint all Principal officers for the President”, this is totally false with no evidence to back up, it is also laughable. A discerning reader would even struggle to find the satirical link NNPC appoint and Seyi Tinubu.



Mr Jake Clifford’s sponsors are so desperate to cause disunity among the first family, by trying to pitch Seyi against his his elder sister, Folashade Tinubu (Iyaloja General of Lagos) and his stepmother, First Lady Sen. Remi Tinubu but he has failed from the onset. He should know that no degree of blackmail and wicked scheming can cause disunity within the first family (Tinubus) as they are united in supporting our president in delivering dividend of democracy to Nigeria. Therefore, mischief makers like Clifford should be ignored with their propaganda.
