You don't know how government work go and learn.
Obiora became deputy governor in 2020, the other three became in 2018, they are his seniors.
He can't be appointed in acting capacity.
Tinubu may consider him or anyone when he wants to appoint a substantive CBN governor, go and read who was made acting when GEJ removed Sanusi.
Everything isn't emotional, the acting CBN governor can't do any shit, he is just temporary holding the seat for a substantive governor who could be Obiora or anybody.
Obiora is 2 years junior to all other deputy governor so Emefiele can't hand over to him after being suspended. Oga I am not saying Obiora should be appointed CBN governor, but at least someone with his type of profile and to add again, a very stubborn person. I don't care which tribe he comes from, as long as he is competent, economic recovery is not difficult, we don't just have people to put the right policy in place. |

Devil1Messenger: Dr. Kingsley Obiora resumed as a Deputy Governor in the Central Bank of Nigeria on 02 March, 2020. Prior to this, he was an Alternate Executive Director in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC, USA. In this capacity, he was a member of the Executive Board, collectively responsible for conducting the daily operations of the IMF. He also assisted to represent the interests of 23 African Countries, including Nigeria, at the Board.
He first joined the IMF through the globally-competitive “Economist Program” in 2007 and worked in both the European Department as well as the Strategy, Policy and Review Department, whilst carrying out extensive work on exchange rate assessment, debt sustainability analyses, decoupling and spillovers, real sector analyses, as well as several reviews of Financial Sector Assessments. Prior to this, Dr. Obiora worked at the West African Monetary Institute in Accra, Ghana and the Centre for Econometric and Allied Research at the University of Ibadan.
While on secondment from the IMF, Dr. Obiora simultaneously served as Technical Adviser to the Nigeria’s National Economic Management Team as well as Special Assistant to the President Jonathan’s Chief Economic Adviser from October 2011 to May 2014. During this time, he played key roles in helping shape the country’s economic policies on several fronts, including on energy subsidies, power sector reform, measurement of job creation, architecture of development financing, diversification of the economy, oil price benchmarking in the budgetary process, regulatory framework for doing business, port reform, and asset-based economic mapping and modeling.
From June 2014 until July 2018, Dr. Obiora served as Special Adviser on Economic Matters to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). During this role, he contributed to the overall analytical and policy work of the CBN, bringing his extensive international and domestic economic experiences to bear in helping the Bank understand the ramifications of, and deal with spillovers from, the external shocks emanating from the significant drop in global oil prices. Dr. Obiora has a first degree from the University of Benin as well as Masters and Doctorate degrees in Economics from the University of Ibadan.
Tinubu overlooked this man(an economist, that have even held a top office in IMF) and Aisha Ahmad(a financial expert) to appoint a director of operations that is a mechanical engineer as CBN governor
Pure tribalism I sincerely don't like the choice of the CBN governor and I also agree with you that he must have been chosen because he is Yoruba. The only reason or excuse I may have for him may be loyalty which is still questionable. |

Thanks for the info. You would think Obiora is the most senior and cheated because he is Igbo. Most people including moi, do not want to accept that computer Engineering has taken over the world. The rest of us are half illiterates without computer Engineering training. The guy they called engineer was in charge of computer training in previous banks and at Central Bank. His experience combined with banking and MBA is adequate for the position. No matter your training in other fields, without computer Engineering, you are handicapped. Gr8amechi:

There we go again, Ndi-Igbo the most clannish people in the world are playing victims again. Obasanjo cabinet full of Igbo. They called him the most detribalized Nigerian then. Ebele Jonathan had exclusive Igbo cabinet and Igbo in powerful positions outside cabinet. They called him Biafran then. They disowned him after he left office. Emefiele is Ika and not Igbo. So as far as they are concerned; a junior to others, because he is the real Igbo must be promoted above those he met in senior positions. Una nor dey taya? Emefiele recruiter the 4 deputy governors and even this Obiora doesn't look to have what is needed.
The current Acting governor has an MBA, has over 30 years banking experience and has grown in banking, go and check his CV.
Nigerians must stop all these rubbish to grow.
That said, Nigeria needs a neutral Economist to come and sanitize the system, someone in CBN is part of the system, all the directors and governors must go So this CV with MSC and PHD in Econs and top notch work experience is not qualified but a Tech guy with MBA is qualified.
