Sanusi is not coming back as Emir of Kano. His successors are mostly his cousins. Family ties are protected by Fulanis.

Why would he ever want to be Emir again? Yes there are freebies but the life of Royalties is fully restrained. As Sanusi, he can contribute to national development or take up elective or appointed government position
