"I dream of a united Africa." -Muammar Gaddafi

What the US-NATO-EU hopes to achieve is to eliminate the half-reliable partner Gaddafi and replace him with a neo-liberal oriented government that will do their bidding: sign in on AFRICOM, kick China out, reverse the government central bank to a BIS private enterprise, continue using dollars of course, and have the lackey leaders join in their permanent war age throughout the Middle East and Africa.

New neo-liberal socio-economic policies would eliminate what the Gaddafi government has provided the entire population through state subsidies funded with oil export sales: the highest standard of living in Africa with free, universal health and education care, and the possibility of studying abroad at state expense; $50,000 for each new married couple to get started with; non-interest state loans; subsidized prices of cars much lower than in Europe; the cheapest gasoline and bread prices in the world (similar to Venezuela); no taxes for those working in agriculture.

The Central Bank also financed Africa’s first communication satellite with $300 million of the $377 cost. It started up for all Africa, December 26, 2007, thus saving the 45-African nations an annual fee of $500 million pocketed by Europe for use of its satellites and this means much less cost for telephones and other communication systems.

While Gaddafi had turned much of his oil sales toward the West, inviting in many of the major oil companies for great profits (BP, EXXON Mobil, Shell, Total, etc), he did not join the US wars against Afghanistan and Iraq as did most of the oil rich Middle Eastern governments. Nor did he sign on with AFRICOM, a US-inspired pact oriented towards US economic and military benefit in Africa also oriented to isolate China from Africa’s natural resources. In fact, China has 50 major economic projects going in Libya with $18 billion investment. Before the US-NATO invasion, there were 30,000 Chinese workers on these and other projects. Much of China’s investment is destroyed.

In 2010 Gaddafi offered to invest $97 billion in Africa to free it from Western influence, on condition that African states rid themselves of corruption and nepotism. Gaddafi always dreamed of a Developed, United Africa and was about to make that dream come true - and nothing is more terrifying to the West than a Developed, United Africa.

Here is a selection of the initiatives Libya has already put in place in Africa, as well as some of the projects it is planning, explaining why the West's illegal war against Libya also is a war against Entire Africa.

AFRICAN UNION:

Libya is one of the biggest contributors to the budget of the African Union. Libya is one of five countries -- the others are Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa -- which cover 75 percent of the Union's budget. "Libya makes its full required contribution to AU funds. Not all countries do and that buys it influence," a senior African Union official said.

Let's review this shall we:

ETHIOPIA: He was simply propping up the AU to further his crazed United States of Africa idea (with him at the head).
MALI: Tales abound of how whole villages were forced to move because Ghadaffi investment companies bought up their land for farming or sale to greedy european hedge funds. Google this.
CHAD: Deby is a dictator and Ghadaffi was propping him up and using him as a satellite. NO freedom here. next!!!
NIGER: Same story as CHAD
Central African Republic: Same story as CHAD.
Liberia: He funded the RUF in sierra leone and some of the insurgent groups in Liberia so he could get his hands on the illicit diamond trade. Nothing to Praise here. As for the sirleaf investment, its simply a way to gain influence with the new government.
Essentially he invested in states that shared borders with him for security reasons ( so that they wont be used as jump off points for attacking him ) and in oil/resource rich countries ( Liberia) for access to their resources and also to spite his enemies(SUDAN(to spite the Sudanese goverment, he was hosting rebels from the south),ETHIOPIA(he also funded them to spite the sudanese too)).

And he did all these with money STOLEN from his people.

TO AURENFLANI: You have just had the priviledge of communicating with one of AFRICA's rising stars ( Puffed out chest tongue )

The dead woods are the lovers of tyrants, fraud-loving sycophants who still revere coup-plotters and sit-tight leaders.

We will NEVER STOP telling the harsh truths necessary for Africa to progress.

There will never be a United States of Africa. People can only unite if they are homogenous

Wow I never knew about the Libyan land grabs. I did know about the RUF, but i havent seen evidence of him funding revolutionary activity since 2001.

Besides, he is a counterweight to French, British, U.S, and Chinese imperialism on the continent.

I mean, u remember reading about the African Central Bank and all that? Based on the gold standard? It would have done alot to help the continent, so far every progressive african nation has been crushed by the french.

You're wrong. The AU Charter, to which all African nations are signatory to, proclaims as its central objective, the eventual unification of the content into a single political entity with a central government. In short, all African nations have agreed to form a single African nation. It is just the speed of progress towards that eventuality that they differ on, with some nations arguing they need to develop their countries to a reasonable level before becoming part of the new dispensation.

^^^^^^

It's still pretty close to impossible, unless France decolonizes west/central africa. When Gbagbo tried to move off the CFA franc he was toasted. Mugabe printed his own money, zimbabwe was destroyed. Libya printed its own money backed by gold, destroyed.

Thomas Sankara was turning Burkina Faso around, assassinated.

Kwame Nkrumah was leading creating Ghana's infrastructure, couped by Houphet-Boigney and the French.

Patrice Lumumba promised Congolese resources for Congo not Europe/America, assassinated by Belgium and CIA.

Samoure Touré fought for preservation of the African way of life in Guinea, assassinated.

Haile Selassie tried to make Ethiopia a regional powerhouse able to compete with European powers, assassinated.

Ghaddafi gives Africa a chance to start its own central bank, couped.

Hm, there are many more who tried to help their people and failed. I have not had a chance to read about all of them yet.
