Senators from the North have lamented the increasing level of insecurity across their geopolitical zones.

Lamenting the incessant killing, the Senate Whip, Ali Ndume, noted that the issue was out of hand as bandits were taking over.

He said, “Insecurity is on the rise these days. You see what happened in Niger State where over 20 soldiers were killed. Jos is also on fire now, with killings here and there.

“Borno State has also been experiencing a lot of attacks by insurgents; even my local government is not spared.

“Just last week, people were killed. In fact, when they unleashed their terror, the soldiers also had to run away and leave the people. It was after things settle the soldiers came back.”

Other lawmakers like Senators Abdulaziz Yari, Aliero Adamu, Mohammed Monguno, Kawu Abdurrahman, Samaila Kaila, Aliyu Bilbis, Sani Musa, Aminu Tambuwal, and also lamented killings and banditry in the region particularly in Zamfara State.

Earlier, Senator Yari bemoaned the killings and banditry attacks in five local governments in Zamfara state such as Maru, Bubgudu, Bukuyum, Anka, and Maradun.

The former Zamfara governor lamented that the state is surrounded by two major forests Sugugu and Rugu which provide adequate cover for the bandits, “making Zamfara state more vulnerable to such attacks than any other state in Northern Nigeria.”

He added, “Zamfara state Government has over the years put in place a lot of measures to bring an end to the Menace including but not limited to providing logistics to security agencies as well as engaging the bandits on dialogue with a promise of laying down their arms to be reintegrated back into the society. Hundreds of lives have been lost to such attacks in the State over the last four years.”

The lawmaker also urged the Federal Government to deploy modern technology like drones to monitor the operations of the bandits.

Meanwhile, you people are only obsessed with fostering abject poverty/stark illiteracy, looting the nation's resources, radical religious indoctrination and possessing political power.

Now this is what your perennial leadership over Nigeria have produced in its 64 years of failed existence. Allow others try their hand on the saddle, you started flexing muscle. Abeg enjoy the monsters you have created in peace.

Hehehe! I laugh! Meanwhile, these are the same Nigerian soldiers who always flex muscle against the same civilians they are running with and being psyche to go to war in Niger Republic? Nigeria is always antagonist to true reality of things.

The religion aides criminality, the region aides criminality, the culture (wandering herdsmen) aides destruction. Everything about the north is endemic.
They v this bring it, born to rule, our national cake mentality.
They knew Nigeria has a porous boarder with Niger and Chad. What's their contribution to salvage it?
In the past, they v shielded bandits and boko haram terrorists.
So why are they screaming for help when they aren't yet totally sincere to ban open grazing which some of these bandits use as cover for their acts and are also bereft of ideas to solution. If you don't help yourself, who will?

juman:
Those mere noise makers senators should profer a working solution to the government.
It's obvious we don't have good soldiers that can defeat those ordinary rogues and thugs.
They are born to perish wannabes always putting their yoke on others. Their elites aren't ready to assist their large no of illiterates to be free from poverty. None of their elites have spoken against over breeding and the illicit practices of their religion. They cover their evil till it grow to monsters that hunt them.

These people from that side are PURE hypocrites. During Buhari time insecurity peaked to the level of people being scared to travel from one state to the other by road, people were scared of going to their own farms.

All of them were mute, but the moment a southerner is in power they find their voice.

Yet, the president is busy bothering himself about Niger. I hope he is able to think of how to strategize with his military chiefs and defense strategists on how to quell the insecurities.

Nigeria is a war zone.

I think the Northern part of Nigeria wants to secede from Nigeria so they can be free to practice their religion as they desire, but their elite are holding them back. The people are fighting back, unfortunately it's draining national resource.

I think Nigeria need to be renegotiated. If the North and East want to leave the union, they can leave without these bloodshed. Perhap the SW and Middle Belt can remain in Nigeria. I believe the Niger Delta area should have their own country too with the exclusion of Igbo speaking area.

If Nigeria does not address all these problems, it's impossible to make progress as nation. Too many centrifugal forces and too little centripetal forces - the end is inevitable. We are wasting natural resource, money, people, and time. Nigeria is not working!
