Nigeria Police Confirm Fake Warrant Was Used To Arrest Traditional Religion Practitioner, Talolorun, Charged For Insulting Islamic Clerics

The spokesperson for the state police command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, told The PUNCH on Monday that the command had no idea which court issued the warrant to arrest the Isese (traditional religion) activist, Talolorun.

The police in Kwara State, North Central Nigeria, have confirmed that the warrant used to arrest Adegbola Abdulazeez, a traditional religion practitioner and activist also known as Talolorun, was fake.

The spokesperson for the state police command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, told The PUNCH on Monday that the command had no idea which court issued the warrant to arrest the Isese (traditional religion) activist, Talolorun.

Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, on Sunday, said the Nigeria police arrested Talolorun with a fake warrant.

According to the candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 presidential election, the police also asked the state government to allow them to prosecute Talolorun without the involvement of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

“#FreeTaniOlorun: The charade by special interests in Ilorin to secretly jail Tani Olohun exposed, first they got a fake arrest warrant from Area Court to get him arrested, now asking state govt to let them prosecute him without involving the DPP’s office,” Sowore posted on his Facebook page on Sunday.

SaharaReporters reported on Saturday that prison authorities in Kwara State denied family members and activists access to Talolorun, who was remanded by a magistrate court in Ilorin.

According to charges filed against the Talolorun seen by SaharaReporters on Saturday, he was accused of planning to start a war by "inviting other traditional and idol worshippers to assemble in Ilorin on the 20th of August, 2023", among others.

In the charge sheet, Talolorun was also accused of blasphemy, insulting the Islamic religion and inciting the public against the authorities. He was also accused of burning the Quran and insulting and defaming the Chief Imam of Offa, Muuhideen Hussein and some other clerics.

However, some of his family members and Isese activists who spoke to SaharaReporters on Saturday said the police prevented them from seeing Talolorun.

Con men.

Most of this hideous crimes are are been carried out or linked to the force and later be condemned to by the same force.

Who would carry out investigations?

The force.

Who do we need to believe after the investigation?

A case of a child stealing from the pot and pointing fingers at tin air; It leads nowhere. ( Loot public funds and blame it on animals like snake and monkeys, they would believe us, The masses are gullible)

Most men today lack integrity And this cuts across various sectors.

The governments - politicians.

The force - both military and paramilitary.

The hospitals - health practitioners.

Religion.

Even entertainment - Musicians, Comedians etc

We don't have musicians who sing the truth anymore. We don't have men with integrity anymore. Their integrity have been compromised for 30 pieces of silver.

We only have men now who just wants to build reputation!

REPUTATION Is the portrayal of your image in public.

INTEGRITY is of your character in private.

INTEGRITY is what builds reputation.

Until men of the force begin to embrace integrity over reputation, then we can begin to have reliable societal protectors.

You may not see those behind this as those behind this May end of giving the investigation investigation results you seek.

I believe that the wind of change that will lead to the rebirth of the ancient Yoruba religion has started.

The ancient Yoruba is a monotheistic society that never fought anyone to practice a universal religion.

What the fathers does of old is so that "kilu Tuba Kotu se." That the land might appease the father and that comfort might triumph.

It's not just ilu that needs comfort, individuals too. So they have their rituals as the religion or their choice demands.

This is Isese, and it's not idolatry but a search for God through the ways of the founding ancestors.

Noah was an ancestor, after descending from the ark, he offered sacrifice to God of creation. How about Cain and Abel? And Abraham?

Paul enjoined the Christian to offer their lives as living sacrifice to God. The meaning of redemptive death of Christ is that we don't need to offer sacrifice to God any more.

Religion should be a relief for mankind, something that brings sequential comfort. If that's absent in any religion, it's a cult and another bondage.

May your comfort triumph, dear fatherland.
