A doctor who specialises in Radiation Oncology claims to have proven without a doubt that there is an afterlife after having studied more than 5 000 near-death experiences (NDE’s).

Dr. Jeffrey Long, who founded the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation, has now published an essay in which lays down his evidence for his claim.

After becoming fascinated with the NDE phenomena during his medical residency, Long has dedicated much of his professional career to studying the various cases that most people just write off as a ‘trick of the brain’ or ‘dreaming’, and has catalogued stories from those who have reported NDE’s which he then scientifically analyses.

NDE’s is defined as “someone who is either comatose or clinically dead, without a heartbeat, having a lucid experience where they see, hear, feel emotions, and interact with other beings.” Sounds a lot like a sitting of parliament.

Long’s research has looked into consistent patterns that emerge among the 45% of people who have claimed to experience NDE’s. People claim “their consciousness separates from their physical body, usually hovering above,” allowing them to see and hear what happens around them.

Many of these patients accounts have been verified by those in attendance at the time of ‘death’.

“I think the evidence overwhelmingly points to the physical body not being all that we are.”

He mentions the case of a woman who lost consciousness while riding a horse on a trail — “her consciousness traveled with her horse as he galloped back to the barn.” She was later “able to describe exactly what happened at the barn” even though her body wasn’t physically there.

Others say they’re transported into another realm, with many claiming to have passed through a tunnel, see a bright light, or be greeted by deceased loved ones. There are also the usual reports of watching their life “flashing before their eyes.”

Long is the first to admit that many of these stories have become cliché, but he points to children’s accounts that could not have been influenced by stories in the media.

He does however admit that there is no ‘scientific explanation’ as yet, but says that “I’ve read brain research and considered every possible explanation for NDEs. The bottom line is that none of them hold water.”

“There seems to be something that is able to continue after the body dies. I don’t know what to make of it.”

Dr Long is not alone in his belief of NDE’s. Dr. Bruce Greyson, professor emeritus of psychiatry and neurobehavioral sciences at the University of Virginia, also became intrigued by the phenomena after experiencing a NDE himself.

His own research has found the same similarities that Long mentioned, including that 10-20% of people who come close to death report NDE’s — about 5% of the population at large.

There is an afterlife and humans do have souls unless you are one of many NPCs around these days.

With or without empirical evidence, I believe in afterlife and nothing whatsoever can change that.

Just dey play. Mere sleep paralysis will give you the same effect as being in a coma. You can see the immediate surroundings. You are conscious but can’t express your consciousness.

There is more to life .

I have had very deep spiritual and out of this world experience and no, I wasn't tripping on shrooms, LSD ,acid or DMT.

There is no explanation that can capture it in words.

You need to have experienced it to know firs hand and this can only happen with you being in connection to your soul spirit.

I have had some very startling lucid and vivid dreams that occured years before the event happened to me in real life. I never forgot those dreams and no it isn't deja vu. When the event was to happen I knew what will happen down to every second and with time, I was able to avoid whatever harm was coming to me. I have also had deep trance state that lasted no longer than 10seconds in real life but were like years and in my sujourn I have met with people I know and those I don't who have passed away .

I can't explain if it's a gift but in all my very deep spiritual episodes I always come back very tired, weak and regretting that I am still here.

Over the years I have been trying to deny this gift by not focusing too much on my spiritual side and concentrating on other material and phyiscial distractions.

I don't hear voices, I just know what will happen years before it occurs.

Do I like it. ?

No.

It's all hallucination.

One thing I am sure of and experienced before is when you wander your mind without thinking about anything ( a bit complicated) , your brain will connect to the cosmos and be inspired with something you never thought about, it could be about future events or present.. it could even be about past events with accurate information...

I use to think sleep paralysis was your conscious brain not falling asleep as your body shuts down and whatever experience that follows is a weird glitch until I had one very bad episode in my teen years and as I was struggling to come out of it and finally break from whatever weight was holding and pressing before me, I let out a scream of "Jesus Christ" and just as I did, whatever being that was upon me immediately rushed out of the room slamming the door to my room so hard and my windows nearly breaking that my parents rushed into my room to ask what or who slammed the door so hard. It wasn't a windy or stormy night and when they saw me barely alive and dripping in sweat , they both knew something out of the ordinary had just occured.

we're not talking about your village juju here, this is a topic with millions of Dollars spent on research which is clearly above your thought process

So because millions of dollars was spent on the project, that make the research right or accurate?

Afterlife to where? Tell us based on your own understanding

There is a reason I am always here.

I read over 5000 pages a day both on the net and from books.

I am either working ,writing or reading because if I don't distract myself with physical mental activities , I most likely will fall into another trance .

Over the years, my trance episodes are no longer good as I see a very disturbing future for all of humanity in the very near future .

Funny enough, what I am avoiding is here on the net .

A consciousness so deep and vast that all humans combined can not much it.

Good for you. For most, the reverse is the case. Before learning about sleep paralysis their experience come in form of having an extra presence in the room and sometimes that presence trying to choke them to death and then once they manage to say blood of jesus, the presence leaves and then they are free. However after learning about sleep paralysis, their experience will change. Rather than see someone else, they’ll be able to see themself sleeping in an awkward position and once they are able to twitch a muscle or move a limb, the can readjust and breathe properly.

Average people are missing some important things about life.

Everything changed about human being when fire to cook was detected. Our brains developed and continue developing. The more rich food you eat to replace the dying cells, the more you build your brain.

Our brain is always working even when sleeping. All the information we gathered during the day must be sorted into the brain library, memory which organisation of those information depends on how your day was. When you miss sleep, or short sleep, you skip information.

I am either working ,writing or reading because if I don't distract myself with physical mental activities , I most likely will fall into another trance.

5,000 pages a day, which Shadow are you running from, you better slow things down..

we might have our differences but you're obviously a very intelligent person so stop arguing over subjects you know nothing about. Even in a court, tribunal or amongst their peers, the researchers will be taken more seriously than you from the get go. Leave this topic

You have a wrong mindset.

That so called ‘village juju’ you’re insulting is TRADITIONAL AFRICAN RELIGION, which is very rich and ancient and laden with deep knowledge that precedes Christianity and Islam by thousands of years.

What you say the whites have spent millions of dollars to discover - ie that physical death is not the end of a person’s life, and that humans are in reality immortal powerful beings, is common knowledge to every traditional priest in Nigeria and Africa, and has been for thousands of years.

So don’t diss them.

It is you, Mr Christian or Muslim of imported foreign religion who is confused about who and what you are, not traditional African religionists.
