Why is it that you can't Translate the phrase : مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ and then we see how it fits into Qur'an 3:3?

وَأَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَمُهَيۡمِنًا عَلَيۡهِ ۖ
And We sent down to you the Scripture with truth, confirming what was before him of the Scripture and establishing control over it.

B. فَٱحۡكُم بَيۡنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ
So judge between them according to what God has revealed.

C. وَلَا تَتَّبِعۡ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ عَمَّا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ ۚ لِكُلٍّ جَعَلۡنَا مِنكُمۡ شِرۡعَةً وَمِنۡهَاجًا
And do not follow their inclinations regarding the truth that has come to you. For each of you We have given you a law and a way of life.


Where do you have
confirming what was before it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it, affirming what is between His hands?
Or are these interchangeable translations of the meaning?
وَأَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِA وَمُهَيۡمِنًا عَلَيۡهِ ۖ
فَٱحۡكُم بَيۡنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ ۖ B
وَلَا تَتَّبِعۡ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ عَمَّا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ ۚ لِكُلٍّ جَعَلۡنَا مِنكُمۡ شِرۡعَةً وَمِنۡهَاجًا ۚ C
وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمۡ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَٰكِن لِّيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ فِي مَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمۡ ۖD فَٱسۡتَبِقُواْ ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِ ۚ E
إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ فِيهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ F
D. If God had willed, He would have made you into a single nation, but that He might test you in what He has given you.

E.So they will stay ahead of the good ones.
F. To Allah is the return of all of you, and He will inform you of that concerning which you differed.

Show me affirming and confirming as distinctly written in the verse Q5:48

The translation :
Quran 5:48
"And We have sent down to you the Book with truth, confirming what was before it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it, affirming what is between His hands of the Scripture, and He is the Trustee over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. To each of you, We prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation, but to test you in what He has given you; so race to good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will inform you concerning that over which you used to differ."


Word by word translation of "مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِ" is:

مُصَدِّقًا (affirming)
لِمَا (to what)
بَيۡنَ (between)
يَدَيۡهِ (his hands)
So, it translates to
"affirming what is between his hands"

An-Najm was revealed in Mecca Except verse 32, which was revealed in Medina

I can't even keep up with the loads of comments and mentions. At a point, I noticed one future thief was quite matured enough to know that I have been very busy and that accounts for the reason I haven't gotten back. But again, like a Cyclothymia patient, he relapsed still thinking I avoided him.

Despite my reservations, thank you TenQ (and FxMasterz) for checking up at a point. I do not take this for granted. While I will love to engage you all, I just have better things to do with my time. I have more rewarding engagements and relationships to build with others I find more worthy in intellect than you two. And I mean no harm. So why I will continue to respond depending on availability and boredom, do not expect that I will dignify you with a response going forward.
