Same thing I wanted to ask?
Hausa headed govt more than other tribes combined but what was d outcome?
Yoruba presided Nigerian affairs for 8 years, Vice for 8 years and current in charge, what was and what is d outcome?
South South produced for 6years and vice for 2 years, how far
D state Nigeria is right now is not who has headed most, naija is a very big mess. People are dying bcs of hunger and u guys are busy talking about dis shit.
Many hv resulted in taken ogogoro and killing their kidney and liver. Beer is no longer selling much in every corner of dis Lagos, as early as 5am, u will see adults shocking their lives with ogogoro and kpelebe and dis are people that their brothers were president and Vice
All these regions more developed, prosperous and contribute more to the nation than southeast.

These old men in the likes of Joe Igbokwe dont know that igbos of this generation are not keen on the presidency. Yes, it may generate some bragging rights, but we have our eyes focused on the bigger picture. Joe Igbokwe, ndi Igbo need more regional development, productive governance back home, and our ultimate unity, both East and South more than anything close to aso rock.
Leave south out of your talks, different region. Focus on your 5 states in east. Unity beggars, na by force?

D other time it was Yoruba elders that were wailing bcs of cost of things
My area here, a lot of Igbo miscreants and poor immigrants from southeast, why una go come here dey lie like say na only una get money. I get money pass all the Igbo people I know, stop this stupid talk about money, if una get money una go dey una town and region not parading around the country, even where you are not wanted. Please tell me the benefits of having the president from your tribe
There's no benefit but Igbo are not the same again since Goodluck Jonathan lost election in 2015. It has always been hatred, annoyance and grievances against other ethnic groups.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Joe Igbokwe, has claimed that it would take the Igbo ethnic group 20–25 years of hard work to produce the president of Nigeria.

Igbokwe made this declaration in response to accusations levelled at his statements on a Facebook post on Friday, September 15, 2023. He also termed Igbo people as “onlookers in the Nigerian project.”

Igbokwe, whose continued romance with the All Progressives Congress has been seen as treachery, bootlicking, sleazy, and unbecoming, took the opportunity to respond to comments regarding the issue on the Facebook post.

“This is the problem. You terrible and pathetic bigots think you are the best God ever created and this is the biggest problem facing Igboland. today.

“Jisienu Ike. Every election year you cry. Play politics. Mbanu. Make friends across Nigeria. Mbanu. Build bridges. Mbanu. We have become onlookers in Nigeria. See 2031 and 2039 are also settled. Continue.

“But know this and have inner peace: it will take any Igbo man 20 -25 years of hard work to produce the president of Nigeria,” he maintained.

Igbokwe also referred to the way he had been branded a saboteur, betrayal and sell-out, liking his situation to what was obtained during the Nigerian civil war. He also said the Igbo were still making the mistakes they made during the civil war.

“We are getting worse by the day and I am worried to the marrows given what I read here. Speak the truth and instantly you become a traitor, saboteur, betrayer, sell out, the kind of stuff we witnessed during the civil war from 1967 to 1970 and Biafra lost many competent, educated and committed Soldiers.

“My take: If you believe that LP won the presidential elections you can believe anything. Shame has enveloped me. Just read the narratives above and you will want to throw up. What has happened to Igbo? We are still making the mistakes we made during the civil war.”

Presidency is not a tribal thing as Yoruba made it to look, joe igbokwe u can be president, let Igbo breath pls, it's only 2023 that we voted fellow Igbo, why the much highlight

My friend don't lie and pretend, Igbos are angry and embittered that Obi lost. How do u even try to deny that? Go to the comment section of any social media news or handle or check out any Igbo celebrity or so called content creator, they are angry and cursing over the loss if Obi. Who is threatening d judiciary and co over d election tribunal? It's Igbos. So don't pretend u guys don't want d presidency,u guys want d presidency like mad just that unforty u don't have d means of getting it cos u don't know how to play politics. An Edo or Deltan would become President of Nigeria before an Igbo man
Who even started this Obi/Labour movement of not somebody from Edo. Go and check d history of Obi/Labour movement.
Labour is not all about Igbo, why I don't go far in using some words towards d West is bcs some west are also Obi supporters.
No wonder everytime anyone says something against Tinubu policy u guys always tag such person Igbo.

Obasanjo's 8 years did nothing for the people of Ogun State

That's because he lost the polling booth in front of his house all the time never mind his state and region.

Yorùbá's have never truly forgiven him for "betraying Awolowo and handing over to Shagari" (which is a nonsense in itself) so it is not surprising that he wouldn't do anything in Abeokuta, Ogun State or Yorubaland even.

Nonsense talk. The only hindrance to this is our electoral deficiency. Let the election be free and fair and see what will happen.

Oh sure….

If it is free and fair, all the Yorubas and Hausas you abuse on a daily basis will queue up in the hot sun in their millions to vote for Peter Obi.

Deluded person.

Honestly, it will take Nigeria longer than 25 years to quit electing leaders solely based on Ethnicity and Religion.

It's even sad and embarrassing that a learned man like Joe Igbokwe is saying such nonsense.

Igbos haven't led Nigeria for decades... Are they living worse lives than citizens whose fellow tribesmen have been leading the nation?!!!

Did Northerners enjoy more than other citizens in the 8 years of Buhari's administration?!!

What can Bayelsa citizens boldly claim they gained from Jonathan's 6 years in office?!!! Northerners even gained more yet voted against him.

Why can't national leaders be strictly elected and appointed solely based on merit rather than ethnic background?!! Shame!

The shameful part of this for Igbokwe is that he seems to have been brainwashed into believing igbos have committed a mortal sin they need to pay for before they can be "allowed" near the seat of President.
It's a pitiable thing to see. No tribe is "deserving" of presidency. That some groups have gathered together to allocate to themselves the power to decide who gets what in Nigeria and what behaviour will fetch you something is a testament to the dysfunctionality of our democratic system.
Just imagine an American saying blacks will require 50 years to become president because they behaved badly.
I think APC as a party needs to reconsider its context of nation building if it really wants to make a difference in Nigeria's political trajectory for good.
