Try a teaching hospital. Diabetic foot shouldn't just be amputated like that.
The infection should resolve once the blood sugar is under control and he gets appropriate debridement and antibiotics
Where's your location?
Where's your location?

This is how quacks kill patients. From what you’ve said I can easily deduce that
1. You are not a doctor and
2. You know next to nothing about diabetes except what you heard or read on the internet or practice in your traditional centre

Op pls see a Dr. if a Dr has told you amputation is the best thing then it most likely has advanced and that leg cannot be salvaged no matter how well controlled the diabetes becomes.

Nothing really pains me much than the hereditary part of this disease. So you can just be welcomed to the world with this package.

Life in reality is really tasking

The only hereditary thing about diabetes is habits.

Lose weight. Eat less, eat well. More more . And it won’t exist no more

At this stage, you can just pray. My Dad had his amputated last year and he didn't survive it. After spending over a million naira on surgery and drugs. I am sure he would still be here if we had continued managing it as before
oh so sad may God continue to console you and the rest of the family undecided undecided life could be indeed so unfair atimes but one has to move and stay safe

There’s a brother of mine who’s been admitted to the hospital for about a week now. Man is pain.

He’s always been diabetic but the foot got worse this past week and he’s been admitted. Unable to eat and sleep. I’m really scared for him.

Doctor gave advice that the foot is amputated to prevent the spread to the entire leg, but his families are objecting to this saying that they’d prefer to treat him.

My question is, is it best to treat him or get the leg amputated?

What are the chances of his survival doctors in the house?

File Photo: for illustration
of course amputation would have been the best option if the foot has become gangrenous, it simply means there's no more blood and nerve supply to the affected area which eventually led to necrosis.

If you don't mind me asking; have you researched on intermittent fasting, autophagy, and regeneration of cells?
Do you think it can help in this case or it's already too late?
now fasting could work for type 2 diabetes if its because the person is overweight or has bad dietary habits that caused the diabetes. the fasting resets the whole system and cleanses and detoxifies it

The question he should ask himself (ignoring what his family thinks)........

Would he rather remain alive, with an amputated foot .......

OR

Dead with his foot complete.......

NB: Sepsis is a killer ......

If the gangrene keeps spreading, You might just be endangering the life of the man. Nothing wrong in amputation if done well and taking care of carefully to allow healing. He can live a very healthy life with an amputated leg.

My very close friend father died because he did not amputate, very miserable death with a lot of pains. Just because of stigma of being one legged.

There is also a spiritual element to diabetes. There is a spiritual element to everything. We are spiritual beings having a physical experience and as it is in the spirit so does it manifest in the flesh and so a person with diabetes ? Judgement has been out on that soul from above that the soul will not enjoy anything sweet again and this is symbolically put in the flesh as you can't digest sweet sugar. You have the inability to utilise sweetness meaning your life will be full of bitterness . So a judgement of bitterness has been placed on this soul by the gods. So this problem needs to be attacked physically and spiritually

I wish i could be of help to him, I wish he could believe that the body has a way of healing itself once the person's soul commands it to start to heal, sometimes not knowing the working principle of the body is what makes us sick and die before our appointed time.... I just wish i could convince him to believe in the healing power that God has programmed within the body its just for us to activate it....

It can be treated and I have seen recovery although it takes a long time. But just like in cases of fractured bones, doctors trained under western science are quick to amputate and cut all "cuttables" because it is the path of least resistance.

Aloe Vera gel will do the magic. He should apply on the legs especially the surface of the wound. He should do it 3 times a day. In less than 2 weeks, the wound will dry up. He should also get the back of cashew tree, Cook and drink the water .

NB: Mix the cooked cashew water with Aloe Vera gel and drink one a day. Within one week, he will see a great change.

I disagree with what you have said up there,
My mum is diabetic and has been managing it for a long while.
she somehow hit her toe on something which later resulted in an open wound.
The wound started expanding and there was nothing we did not do but it keeps getting bigger and wider.

We later went to isolo general Hospital and we were directed to go for some test to check if the leg has gangrene or not,or if there is any blood flow to the said leg.

After conducting the test at Mushin for like 80something thousand naira,we took the result back to the hospital.
The doctor we met on duty later told us that the leg would need to be amputated,if we need her alive.

My siblings all objected to amputation and took her back home, then we got a nurse that comes to clean the wound daily and also treat her(regulating her blood sugar level daily)......
And some herbal treatment like putting mashed pawpaw close to the wound daily to stop the bleeding.

To the glory of God,the wound has finally healed and she can now use her legs to walk.
(Although it not easy, but it's achievable).

Till date she is still managing the diabetes.

Life in reality is really tasking

That is the reality of life. Show me anybody jumping and living recklessly and yet no trace of evil whatsoever accomplishing him. I tell it to you that his parents has paid the price clearing the foundation spiritually and medically. After years of experiencing some patterns myself, one dead of the night I asked God to show me the root cause of my problems in life. What I saw shocked me....

Both the father and the mother side have foundation problem that has been on ground before my birth. I have to start praying to uproot it all or separate myself from it spiritually. Although you can't fight these stuff canally. After a while, results started showing up. This life is deeper than what you see and sadly, the type of christianity practice in Nigeria is like a joke in most churches.

What unborn innocent children will inherit from this current careless youth of Nigeria will be triple of what our ancestors did.

Evil forces will look for a loophole in someone's life to afflict and if come add foundational battles join the mix...

we share same story, my dad also faced this same thing.

We were in UCH for 40 days. They did below knee amputation on him. After few days he was discharged but was going for checkup twice a week at a state hospital around our side.

He died one month after. This was in 2016. The experience is still fresh in my head.

Can't forget this antibiotics 'Rocephin' he was using it everyday then in Uch and it was expensive.

May his soul continue to R.I.P
amen,God continue to comfort you and the rest of the family
