At the end of the collation at 08:30 am on Sunday, Fashina announced that the collation centre would go on an hour break and reconvene for the winner's announcement.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the 27 local government results announced in the November 11, 2023 governorship poll in Imo State

Collation of results at the State Collation Centre started around 02:30am on Sunday in Owerri, the state capital, with the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Prof Abayomi Fashina, as the state Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the election.

Though 18 parties fielded candidates in the poll, this year’s governorship election in Imo State has been described by analysts as a four-horse race between APC’s Uzodimma who is seeking re-election, Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party’s Achonu Nneji and Jack Ogunewe of the Action Alliance.

According to INEC, the number of registered voters in the state for the poll was 2, 419,922 with 2,318,919 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected.

At the end of the collation at 08:30 am on Sunday, Fashina announced that the collation centre would go on an hour break and reconvene for the winner’s announcement.

None of the other candidates won any local government.

Like Imo, governorship elections were held in Kogi and Bayelsa on November 11, 2023, though the collation of results from the two states has been adjourned to Sunday morning.

I talk am

Addme:
This is no brainer. Uzodinma is expected to win. Most of the journalists on ground have even said this before the election.
They call him the only candidate standing against himself.
That shows the man is really on ground, forget rigging even with the way I'm seeing this, he may win all the Local governments.
So how do you call all that rigging?
Seriously this man is brutal politically.
As in how can the most villified and hated governor in the whole of South East wins all the 27 Local governments even the opposition local governments and not just winning but winning with bloody nose to other parties.
E shock me ..

This victory is dedicated to Mr. Gringory Onwubuasi Obi, the relentless attack of his mad Obingo dogs attracted state-wide sympathy for Governor Hope Uzodinma.

Also, thanks to Comrade Aja-eru, the Owerri indigene who calls himself NLC President. Owerri Zone swore to sabotage Uzodinma but God pass you. The good people of Owerri zone voted overwhelming for Uzodinma. Next time, you won't use your union to put off the light of those you claim to be fighting for, weeks to an election.

Reality has set in now. The Labour party hype backed by the fickle Gen Y and Gen Z folks is fizzling out gradually.

The established parties well grounded at the ward levels backed with state resources and power are getting back to their position.

A reason why PDP fared better than the "loud" labour party

Election in Nigeria is mockery. A country where the incumbent wins flawlessly whether he performed in his concluding tenure or fail woefully, he still wins flawing his opponents.

Same goes to where an incumbent has concluded his tenure and nominated a successor, the party still goes ahead to flaw his opponents whether the man who sits on the saddle currently performed or failed woefully.

Nigeria is still a big JOKE. When we are awoken to be serious in life for once, we'll know. That's when development, growth and progress will set in.

But for now, let's just be deceiving ourselves.
