Bliss62: british Airways isn't owned by the government. Go check. The Arabs have a certain level of discipline we dont have. Besides its possible those airlines are loss leaders to facilitate tourism. We cant compete with the riches of the arab world unfortunately. And before you say isn't it the same oil, check Saudi or UAE or Kuwait oil production relative to their population and check our own. Our population is like 4 times those 3 nations combined, but we produce 1.3mln barrels, while Saudi does 9mln barrels. Then add on top that they have used theirs better over along term. 6 Likes |

PlayMaker14: Is this not what LP and APC communists and socialists do- government ownership of businesses instead of the capitalist PDP’s private sector driven economy? What he is suggesting is what the Obasanjo/Atiku administration did with Virgin Airlines. |

Nigerians, here they are are, these are the faces of the enemies of the state, the cabal that keep pressing the neck of the nigerian people, greedy and anti-progressive elements who are more interested in their private pockets than the development of the economy.. shittyheads!. i hate this kind of a man with everything within me, crooked bastard. He has always attacked the idea of a national carrier ever since the idea was first mooted, he only wanted his private business to thrive at the detriment of the masses, a son of the devil. Are we not ashamed that a country as big as Nigeria has no national carrier whereas other smaller African nations have effecient national carrier taking advantage of our population to make lots of money back home. His tribesmen are always dishing out insults at Dangote yet hailing this idiot. Same people calling on Government to make our refineries work and not depend only on Dangote refinery are here supporting his foolish call of a monopoly. 1 Like |

Hw is ur NNPC Today, since is government owned. Check Nigeria football league, how is it doing most of them re owned by the government. European clubs private run. The thing is government have limited resources. So it can't provide for everything and everyone. That is where the private individuals comes in. The govt best thing it can do is to regulate those private sectors for the interest of it citizens. The government have limited resources. It can't do anything. Even China the communist country is run base on capitalism bcs the find out they can't provide everything. So China regulate the private sector hard you can't mess up. Capitalism with government regulation is the way. Thanks to some privatisation in Nigeria. If not our suffering for worst. Bliss62: |

That's how they insisted govt have no business running businesses until we ended up with no working refinery. They ran to Saudi Arabian govt to come and open business in their backyard but claim their own govt can't own or run any. |

christejames:My bad. I keep forgetting that not everyone is as smart as I or the average person in my personal circle. What I obviously meant was a government owned and operated national carrier, not an adopted flag bearer. From the examples I listed that should have been obvious to you. I also realize you might still feel insulted over this over-simplified explanation, of that I can do nothing about and will definitely not respond because it's a waste of time. 1 Like |

thesicilian: And I repeat it again, you obviously don't know the difference between National and Flag carriers Let me help your ignorance, the countries you listed all are not operating their airline by the govt but have individuals running it from behind... For example, Kenya Airways is not being managed by the Kenya government 😏, even South African Airway have some substantial stake in Kenya airway. |
