The truth is very few countries 'are able to run a business successfully
Where that seems to happen you can usually identify two things
A homogenous population and
A dictatorship that understands business

Nigeria is not homogeneous and so appointments to the management team will always be controversial and nepotistic.
Recently Nigeria escaped paying a fine of $11 billion in a UK court. How did that come about? Nepotism.
We see the same thing at NNPC ,the refineries and so on.

What happend to Nigeria Airways What happened to National shipping lines Do you know the country had it's own ships!!! Nigerian government has no business running business. Due to nepotism, favoritism, cronism, religious, ethnic bias and prejudiced are many reasons. Do you know the key watch when these companies employ from head to toe is meritocracy.
A childhood friend till date is one of the top managers in ARAMCO in kingdom of Saudi.
Here, until the children of political expose individual, they family members, girlfriends etc has gotten the job nothing for merit individuals. These jobs in places like NNPC, NPA, PR, KR, WR, CBN, CUSTOMS, IMMIGRATION, are never advertised,

Any internationally operating airline registered incorporated as Nigerian is a flag carrier
