Honestly my deepest respect to Allen Onyeama

But saying a country has no business doing business is a lie.... Big lie

Etihad, Emirates, Etisalat, ARAMCO

It was Atiku and El Rufai that started that nonsense, selling off National asset under Obasanjo's nose

You want to Diversify the economy from Oyel money then you need to have state owned enterprise

Rumors has it that Airpeace belongs Mama Peace from Nigerian loot... but well na rumors

.
I see you edited your post to remove British Airways

The truth is very few countries 'are able to run a business successfully
Where that seems to happen you can usually identify two things
A homogenous population and
A dictatorship that understands business

Nigeria is not homogeneous and so appointments to the management team will always be controversial and nepotistic.
Recently Nigeria escaped paying a fine of $11 billion in a UK court. How did that come about? Nepotism.
We see the same thing at NNPC ,the refineries and so on.
Now Tinubu is there we are hearing Yorubanization
Maybe a state government or geopolitical zone can do it but Nigeria no.

It will not work given our peculiarities
The airline business is even more challenging
Let us not forget that we tried it before

Nigeria is not a country with a track record of learning from experience

Coming from the owner of a private airline, sounds a bit selfish to me. We all know that public owned organisations are more affordable for the masses than private which are more profit oriented. What we should be focusing on is accountability and maintenance, not pumping subsidies into private companies

At what cost to Government coffer?

Watch how idiots that have no idea how airline operation is done to start insulting this man for his honesty

People from the other wasted side hate anything that is sensed to be truth

Just sit and watch them fume in their mouth

You have just shown your daftness.
Onyema is entitled to his opinion....He can't decide for the FG.
He is a business man and would want to monopolize the sector leveraging on FG's help.

Grow up and don't displaying your stupidity online.
Headless mob indeed.

That's just the simple truth angry

Even America πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ doesn't have a National Carrier but flag carriers managed by private individuals.

America doesn't have a Natiomal carrier for security reasons! Nigeria on the other hand should be ashamed! They had a national carrier which was the envy of many countries. Jus couldn't manage it. What happend to Nigeria Airways What happened to National shipping lines Do you know the country had it's own ships!!! Many people should be locked up in underground cells and the keys thrown into the belly of a shark

Nigerian government has no business running business. Due to nepotism, favoritism, cronism, religious, ethnic bias and prejudiced are many reasons. Do you know the key watch when these companies employ from head to toe is meritocracy.
A childhood friend till date is one of the top managers in ARAMCO in kingdom of Saudi.
Here, until the children of political expose individual, they family members, girlfriends etc has gotten the job nothing for merit individuals. These jobs in places like NNPC, NPA, PR, KR, WR, CBN, CUSTOMS, IMMIGRATION, are never advertised,
Is it not a shame that all the government refineries are not working but people are been paid salary every months. Where or which country in the world tolerate such nonsense. Same it at Ajakuta steel company.

Nigeria Government has no fucking business running business.

But the agreement between Nigeria and Ethiopia Air clearly posits Ethiopia Air as the flag carrier here with Nigeria owning just a 5% stake.

I guess what he really wants to say is his airline should be the flag carrier, which is not bad but lets talk plainly.

There is nothing like THE FLAG carrier
Any internationally operating airline registered incorporated as Nigerian is a flag carrier

His airline is a flag carrier and there is no limit to the number of flag carriers a country can have
In some nomenclature a National carrier is a flag carrier owned by the government . That's what he is saying

The government should leave the sector to the private sector

No you have no point how does government involvement as a shareholder make it more attractive to terrorists?
Did government own the aircraft involved in 9/11?

There were not many Americans on that plane wink besides if you have most died on the ground or wtc. Besides if you have a national carrier fly say to Tripoli or Baghdad then you have a problem with security. Anyway I rest
