No fewer than 9, 000 civil servants who sat the 2022 Federal Civil Service Promotion examinations failed.

This is according to a list obtained by The PUNCH from the Federal Civil Service Commission.

i]The PUNCH reports that no fewer than 13,000 civil servants sat the 2022 examination, which held in about 69 Computer Based Test centres.[/i][

The candidates were drawn from the core civil service, the Nigeria Police, and other para-military and specialised agencies.

The letter containing the list of successful civil servants was dated November 30, 2023 and sent from the Federal Civil Service Commission.

The letter, tagged FC.6241/S.35/Vol.xi/ T12/268, was signed by the Director of Promotions, Sani Bello, and addressed to the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

In a list attached to the letter, it was noted that only 3,851 civil servants out of the over 13,000 civil servants who sat the promotion examination passed.

In the list, it was stated that 139 officers were, for instance, promoted from the post of Assistant Chief Administrative Officer to Chief Administrative Officer.

A total of 191 were promoted to the post of Assistant Chief Administrative Officer from the role of Principal Administrative Officer. A total of 313 civil servants were promoted from the role of Senior Administrative Officer to Principal Administrative Officer. A total of 191 were promoted to Senior Administrative Officer from the role of Administrative Officer 1 among others.

In a letter of acknowledgment by the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office of the OHCSF, Marcus Ogunbiyi, civil servants were informed that the 2023 promotion exercise for civil servants in the pool of the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation will hold from December 11, 2023 to December 16, 2023.

Why won't there be mass failure when the civil service is based on man-no+man and quota system arrangements

Na civil service dem wan face now.

Time to deploy thier usual media propaganda against them cos they are beginning to be a bone in the neck of the Government for asking for a little 10 percent salary increment to cushion the over 300percent p0verty the Government has plunged them into.

The so called wage reward promised them for 6 months has been paid for only one month in the past 3 months (going to the 4th month). Deceptive Government.

I am even surprised that some people passed. Public service jobs weren't designed to attract competitive people.

It's a place where a bunch of ne'er-do-wells come to work whenever they please, read newspapers and gist, look for ways to steal public funds and go home afterwards.

Smart NigΓ©rians have no business working in public offices because it can only bring out the worst in you.

Over 50% of federal civil servants are olodos!

All they know is to resume work, drop a cap on the table or a laptop open and go about from office to office talking or some will even go to market and then resume at the end of the day to take their cap or laptop home.

Over bloated, incompetent and corrupt! The only thing they do well is to brief new ministers where the loopholes to chop money are

Majority of them can't handle computer operations (CBT) when sitting for exam.. probably the cause of dia failure..

Government should mandate computer training for this service men and women atleast onces a month every two years
