Reactions have continued to trail the huge number of delegates representing Nigeria at the ongoing climate change summit (COP28) in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

Although Nigeria has 1,411 delegates at the conference, the Federal Government had put the number of those it sponsored at 422.

The presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party in this year’s elections, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively as well as civil society organizations had flayed the huge delegation of Nigeria at the summit, describing it as a jamboree and a waste of scarce resources.

The PDP had challenged the government to name the delegates, urged the National Assembly to probe the delegation and asked Tinubu to be ready to refund the amounts spent on delegates who have no important role at the conference.

Among the delegates, according to the list of registered Nigerian participants at the COP28 Conference, are President Tinubu’s son, Seyi; chefs, luggage officers, stewards among other individuals, including over 50 personal assistants.

The delegation also comprises over 30 ministers and heads of government agencies, including the Ministers of Environment, Water Resources, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Aviation, Information, Lakpobiri, Petroleum, Mineral Resources, Attorney-General, Gas Development, Abubakar Kyari, Agriculture, Power, Youth and Sport, State for Environment, Education, among others.

Also on the list are an actress and on-air personality, Toke Makinwa, IBD Dende, and two senior special assistants to the Lagos State governor (state lotteries & corporate finance/investments), a member representing Lagos Island II in the Lagos State House of Assembly and a staff of PZ Cussons.

The UN said Nigeria has the third-largest delegation to the event, behind only China and Brazil.

Also on the list are 138 delegates from the State House has 138, 54 from the National Council on Climate Change, 53 from the Ministry Environment, 36 from the National Assembly, 28 from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd.

The media is trying so hard to promote Seyi. Don't be surprised when you see him in upcoming elections.

Tinubu and his political brain.... 90%.

Must Tinubu travel with his family for official engagement? I never saw Buhari doing that despite being a globetrotter.

This is a new low

Imagine a poor country like Nigeria with 1411 delegates

Is 100 delegates not enough for such summit?

It's a Conference on climate change and United Nations sent invitation to people who can influence reduction of green house gasses and people that can promote awareness to devastating effect of global warming

PS: Only Government workers are entitled and can collect estacode from CBN as travel allowance no private citizen can get a dime

Nigeria is broke according to them, yet billions are been budgeted for cars, house, feeding and traveling expenses.

Their supporters will soon come to defend them. How they support these people with empty stomach is what I don't understand.

The work they are doing is so huge but eyes can't see it tongue.

Dey play. This is what mostly the naysayers, criminal defamers, cyberbullies and lazy , hate-filled bitter people will focus on.

I know that you intend to mock those junior workers as if they are useless and they don't deserve to even step out of the country, kitchen and stores let alone travel with the President on the Presidential jet. Smh. Even the child of a labourer, security guard etc will still join in trash-talking those in same category as his/her father and mother instead of begging God for the same grace and favour that comes with being diligent and upright in life. Seesth thou a man diligent in his work, he will stand before Kings and not mere ordinary men.

Those are real people and Nigerian citizens if you don't know. Those guys you look down on in condescension are the ones who the lives of Nigerian President and leaders in the President's contingent depend on.

That you look down on them in condescension shows you're ignorant. No country in the world will place the lives of its leaders in the hands of random people or kitchen staff.

Just days ago, the wife of a top leading Ukrainian was poisoned and it's now a row between Russia and Ukraine.

Seyi Tinubu is not just the President's son, he is a successful and consummate entrepreneur/investor. His outdoor advertising company alone is so successful that his presence at the summit adds value to the quality of our contingent. He is a youth who has something phenomenal to show for his achievements even before his father became the President.

While you continue to feed the lazy idle youths on the social media what to gloat about, these folks and Nigerian leaders have the result to show for their brilliance, competence, patriotism and hardwork. They went there to work, leaving their families and businesses behind in Nigeria while you play online.

They told us there is nothing like first lady office but now we see office of president son.
They waste money like it doesn't matter, yet says no money. Some mumu even said the country is broke and supporting evil borrowing.
Until we are ready and united to fight the common enemies of Nigeria the country will not move forward. The enemy is the old politicians, most of them only want the power and money not fixing the country.

Tinubu is not in-sync with the reality of the Nigerian situation.

He is very positioned for continious wastage and leakages of govt's wallet.

He has not shown one single atom of discipline to steer the country into a redemed and repaired ground.

It is a shame.
