Hope you still remember Dangote has said many times his products will be sold at international market price (that is, same price like the imported one). He will not sell it at government subsidized price. Dangote will set up a marketing company that will receive payments in US$ or ask petroleum marketers to buy in Naira at black market rate plus hefty premium to cover the cost of buying crude oil in US$. Private companies are not charity organizations. seunmsg: 2 Likes |

cuteboy2: Recieving payment in US dollars will stop dollar scarsity in Nigeria. The price would be quoted in dollars but Nigerians won't pay in dollars. The refinery will supply refined product to other countries. 4 Likes |

Ikaeniyan0: You should have ignore the guy, I'm done pitying Nigerians. Even Jesus laid a curse on an unprofitable servant, all we hear from AFRICANTS are excuses for failures. They are quick to accuse Dangote of monopoly and exploitation, they pretend not to understand that it's not easy to get things working, in a third world country like Nigeria. Those wey dey cry up and down, their relatives have all been given license to set up and operate a refinery. Probably waiting for Dangote to borrow money to build his refinery, and hand it over to them, or probably sell below production costs. Awon werey. 3 Likes |

cuteboy2: There is no fixed international market price for refined petroleum products. Prices varies from country to country based on economic fundamentals. There is currently no subsidy on petroleum products so the current price is already reflective of market reality. 5 Likes |

erico2k2: Basically, we will have to stop importing refined petroleum products. That alone will save us millions of dollars that we usually use to pay for imported petroleum products. With more dollars saved, CBN will have more forex to defend and stabilize the Naira. Again, a lot of jobs will be created. The byproducts of crude oil will also be a source of raw materials for local Agriculture and manufacturing. The gains are enormous. 4 Likes |
