Agbami is an fpso and the field which is operated by chevron is named after the big edifice.

Let us try to make sense out of this, What does this mean to us?

Hope you still remember Dangote has said many times his products will be sold at international market price (that is, same price like the imported one). He will not sell it at government subsidized price.

Dangote will set up a marketing company that will receive payments in US$ or ask petroleum marketers to buy in Naira at black market rate plus hefty premium to cover the cost of buying crude oil in US$.

Private companies are not charity organizations.

Recieving payment in US dollars will stop dollar scarsity in Nigeria.

The price would be quoted in dollars but Nigerians won't pay in dollars. The refinery will supply refined product to other countries.

Don’t mind those demented scavengers of bad news, the way they glorify bad news eh , sometimes you wonder if they really want the country to be better .

They’ll criticize this development and tell you until they start buying petro for 1kb that’s when they’ll be happy , if peradventure Petro gets to 1kb , they’ll give excuse that Dangote is reaping the country apart that the government is working for its favor . but nobody was willing to take that risk until Dangote came on board.
No matter what Dangote do, they will criticize him because he's not an Igbo man.

It was not imported. Agbami crude oil is from the Niger delta.

I wonder why Aje oil field that is just offshore of Lagos can't supply to Dangote refinery.

Anyways, more investors should come and build refineries across Nigeria o.

The FG gave out license to more than 20 person to build refineries, Dangote shouldn't be blame for others failure.

You should have ignore the guy, I'm done pitying Nigerians.
Even Jesus laid a curse on an unprofitable servant, all we hear from AFRICANTS are excuses for failures.
They are quick to accuse Dangote of monopoly and exploitation, they pretend not to understand that it's not easy to get things working, in a third world country like Nigeria.
Those wey dey cry up and down, their relatives have all been given license to set up and operate a refinery.
Probably waiting for Dangote to borrow money to build his refinery, and hand it over to them, or probably sell below production costs.
Awon werey.

There is no fixed international market price for refined petroleum products. Prices varies from country to country based on economic fundamentals.

There is currently no subsidy on petroleum products so the current price is already reflective of market reality.

It's so funny how they make it seem as if Dangote stopped the rest from building a gigantic refinery like his own. Dangote worked very hard to make this refinery possible.

If he behaved like the rest of the people that got the license too, we won't be talking about Dangote refinery today.

Basically, we will have to stop importing refined petroleum products. That alone will save us millions of dollars that we usually use to pay for imported petroleum products. With more dollars saved, CBN will have more forex to defend and stabilize the Naira.

Again, a lot of jobs will be created. The byproducts of crude oil will also be a source of raw materials for local Agriculture and manufacturing. The gains are enormous.

I pray and hope the refinery favour Nigeria.I don't like Dangote.I still feel it was an error to give him license to build such a huge refinery. If 5 persons were given license to 650,000 barrel per day refinery,at least 3 would have been up and running by now.GEJ made mistake by approving 650,000 barrel refinery for only Dangote.

He didn’t make any mistake he gave license to 23 people it’s you that will state your capacity you think investing in refinery na online billionaire lolz
