https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEjTifYf-IQ?si=K3cdBGijnjgI5pRL At a town hall meeting In 2009 the Lagos State Government announced a policy on gates on public roads. It decided that street gates could be erected by residents, but they can only be shut between midnight and 5am and they must be manned by private security personnel who would open the gates for emergency service personnel in case the need arises. See here http://www.tundefashola.com/archives/news/2009/01/27/20090127N01.html The government once again ordered the removal of unapproved street gates late in 2020. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f65XCfN2Q68?si=1G_g2lDk7LdAbFv4 Tokunbo Wahab Following several days of traffic snarl which residents connecting Lekki were experiencing due to the inability to access connecting roads due to the indiscriminate mounting and multiplicity of the gates in many parts of the state, defacing the aesthetics of the environment and causing unnecessary traffic in the major roads, Lagos State Government through the Enforcement team of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has commenced the removal of illegal gates that are permanently closed around Lekki 1 axis. 6 Likes

Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs Around 2020, a lot more gates were done in Lekki 1, they turned streets to “Mini Estates”, they even use code for entry… Normal Main road o, instead of keeping it open during the day and putting security near the gate at night, some of them decide to lock it outrightly, I don’t know why we are very wicked to each other as Nigerians. https://twitter.com/Mr_JAGs/status/1738565574592962757 Yomi Ajenifuja @Yommiefuja We still have several of this in Okota particularly off Taiwo Street. Some for.4 years https://twitter.com/Yommiefuja/status/1738569569457815879 Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs Pls send me the full details in the DM https://twitter.com/Mr_JAGs/status/1738569867400249398 Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs There is one particular street in Lekki 1, I can’t remember the name BUT I will specifically go and look for it tomorrow or later in the week, they lock it outright from morning till night, in fact, the gate is already like a fence for the area. A major access road that leads to Adebayo Doherty road. https://twitter.com/Mr_JAGs/status/1738568248033951909 Aderounmu niyi @NiyiAderounmu Honourable, the government need to improve the level of security in order to reduce this trend of building street gates. https://twitter.com/NiyiAderounmu/status/1738571376364048403 Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs The gates were not an issue until people started locking it outrightly all day, It’s not good na. Put a security guard there, keep it open all day, lock at 12 midnight but a security officer must be there, incase of emergency and others, That’s all. https://twitter.com/Mr_JAGs/status/1738572707904495771 7 Likes |

Truth be told, if this whole nonsense can happen on the island, where we believe there's a modicum of sanity, I wonder what on earth will be happening on the mainland, where disorderliness is the order of the day. I believe it's about time, LASG shift their focus to the mainland, particularly those living in Alimosho, Ifako/Ijaiye, Oshodi/Isolo local government areas. Many of the people living in those LGA think it's their God given right to misbehave and do whatever they like. 42 Likes 1 Share |

srnio:Exactly, that is one thing that I love about Igbos. As wonderful as this your comment of this guy below me would have being, your desire for Yoruba Land(Igbos are already determined not to be enslaved) to still be Nutritionally Enslaved to the North even with your Tinubu as President shows that your IQ is way below average. Cow, Beans, Legumes, etc. Yoruba And is far more fertile for both Animal Production and Crop Production than any other part of Nigeria and Awolowo proved it. All that Yoruba Youths needs to massively be demanding from President Tinubu at this Point is that he should massively pump Billions into starting Mechanized Agricultural Farms and Farm Settlements that should be leased to them so that those that seriously work and Profit are later allowed to forever own the landed Properties. This would make the Yourba Youths know that you don't need YahooYahoo to become a Millionaire. The President should also do what Awolowo did by Providing means of Processing, Transportating and Exporting the Farm Produce into International Market. This was how the Great Awolowo Encouraged Yoruba Land to become the Richest Part of Nigeria and generated the Money with which Cocoa House and all the Industrial and 1st Ever in Africa Infrastructural Developments were achieved by the Yorubas. The Enemies of Yoruba Land soon quickly Forcefully merged Yoruba Land with other Parts of Nigeria, and ever since then massively used Federal Propaganda Media Tools to Brainwashed the Next Yoruba Generation to think that Farming is Useless to them. komodapson: 9 Likes 1 Share |
