Sokoto To Spend N6.7bn On Ramadan Feeding by ManirBK: 3:09pm On Mar 12
The Sokoto State government on Monday said it would spend N6.7 billion on its Ramadan feeding programme.

The programme includes the distribution of grains and the provision of meals at feeding centres.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu disclosed this during the flag-off of grain distribution to 18,400 orphans and the destitute across the state.

He said each of the 18,400 orphans and the destitute would receive bags of rice and millet with N5000 cash.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, thanked the state government for sustaining the Ramadan feeding programme.

The monarch assured the governor of his support in his efforts to improve the people’s living conditions.

He called on the wealthy people to show compassion to the needy.

Nigeria has a spending problem, not a revenue problem.

How can a state like sokoto spend that much to feed people when they can easily use that to fix water problem, build classroom, hospitals and provide other basic amenities.

If all these nonsense continues, nigeroa will never develop.

These are some of the reasons why we need to restructure this country. Because governors always get free cash from Abuja every month, they spend that money carelessly.

Can that governor bring out over #500 million of his hard-earned money to waste on feeding people because of one celebration with no economic value?

Why aren't the leaders of Northern Nigeria enlightening their people to start having kids they can only cater for? Why should the state be feeding people instead of channelling the money into economically valuable projects?

The hypocrites and woke beings condemning this gesture are simply stewpid. It is not an aberration for any Government to feed its poor population especially during a sacred Month like Ramadan.

What you should complain of is implementation and budget inflation. Stop being unnecessarily woke please.

I'm very sure I have never heard of any Southern state using or claiming to need billions to feed kids during Lent (fasting)...!

The only difference between corruption under APC and under PDP is the style and approach.

PDP stole and misappropriated funds secretly, leaving citizens to find out from whistle blowers.

APC, on the other hand, don't even bother hiding a damn thing... They do what they like with the sure knowledge that the suffering masses will be too divided to raise a fuss.
