BondRiv:Subsection 2 is for the Speaker of the House. Since the Speaker also lost his seat by defecting, a new speaker had to emerge. There can be no vacuum in governance 4 Likes 1 Share |

Nonsense judgement again..how do these clowns become judges. Same kangaroo judgement that Yahaya procured. How can you declare their seats vacant without first hearing the merits of the case. Indeed many of these our judges are one major problem this country has. This was how one nonentity in Osun was dismissed by NJC for such fraudulent judgments. A mockery of the system honestly. |

Wike lost very important allies in Peter and Mary Odili. He allowed arrogance and power to enter his head to the extent that he forgot how Mary Odili aided his series of court victories. Same forces that empowered Wike are now solidly backing Fubara. This latest court victory may be the beginning of disarming of Wike and his allies. The coming days will be interesting. The erudite Chinua Achebe said a little bird called Nwanza challenged his chi to a wrestling contest and we all know how it ended 3 Likes |

Those who adviced Fubara to shop this judgement are his major enemies. This is what Pro wike faction has been waiting for. By monday Appeal court will over rule the state High Court ordering the Assembly members to resume sitting. With that order Fubara may likely be impeached. Soldiers, Airforce, police , Civil defence all stationed at strategic places in Port Harcourt. Monday will be very violent in Rivers state. Im done typing 2 Likes 1 Share |

Fibonacci88: What if they obtain their own order from federal high court on Monday? Most of you guys don't even know there was federal high court order on ground that barred the governor from interfering in their matter. The lawmakers have the backing of the Abuja, who own the court and security. The case of Obaseki is different. Obaseki never inaugurated the assembly loyal to Oshoimole then. But for this one, Fubura inaugurated them. And when they defect, the PDP did not sue them so court can declare their seat vacant. It's only court that can declare their seat vacant and order inec to conduct election, not Fubura. As long as court has not declared their seat vacant, they remain lawmakers. 1 Like |

[quote author=drololaaof post=129888851] Scenario of Ekiti did not apply here , Nigeria is better . Whatever it is Wike cannot be ruling at ZFCT & River state at the same Time. Ekiti State was not has worse as this when state of emergency was declared for PBAT to give a grip in rivers state he would rather declare a state of emergency and Wike would still be in charge. |

The only solution to this impasse is for the national assembly to take over the function of the state assembly after which an election should be held in those vacant seats ...those lawmakers were ill advised declaring for APC while been a PDP member in the house .but if election is held by INEC am too sure most of those lawmakers will get back their seats . |

Fubara is too lenient with those rogues members, they cant even try it with Ameachi. How can you be in the state and be loyal to a past governor, did Wike accept it under Ameachi as minister of transport? fergie001: |
