The past few days in Burma have filled me with a lot of pride.
Religion might have some use after all.

Of course the 'revolt' has limited chance of success
but it doesnt't diminish the accomplishment of these long
subjugated people.

I suppose you are refering to the fact that in Burma,religion has served as a symbol of positive change.That is true but one has to note that the regime is Buddhist and has expended Govt money building Temples and suppressing other faiths.

The larger issue is the deletrious effect the rise of China can have on international relations.The Burmese regime is maintained in China and China has been a stumbling block to international efforts to get the regime to change its ways,just as in Darfur.For those who are gripped in blinding anti-American prejudice,wait till China becomes a superpower.
