The ice has finally been broken between labour unions and the Federal Government over the removal of fuel subsidy with a meeting scheduled for this evening, THISDAY can report. Ahead of the tripartriate negotiation in Abuja involving the Executive, National Assembly leadership and the unions, the Jonathan Administration is considering a mechanism aimed at subsidising aspects of petrol pricing and bringing down the cost to around N120 per litre or up to 20% subsidy in the interim. Labour is also said to be willing to propose a shift in the commencement date of the deregulation policy from April to March subject to agreement and milestones. They are said to be disposed to phased deregulation. These three items form the agenda for the meeting for this evening. THISDAY will keep you posted. Watch this space,
