Unknown Nigerians or foreign sponsors.
Re: Who Is Funding Violence In Nigeria? by Nobody: 9:00am On Jan 29, 2012
GEJ started it, Ciroma, Atiku (and the other born to rules) plus the Western Nations picked it up.

End of story!

Oh, my bad, actually not the end. Occasionally, GEJ uses it to cause confusion, elicit sympathy and divert attention from his evil policies.

MEND provided money for itself as it controlled oil wells and sold them illegally. They also received duties from ships passing through their territories. They did this in collaboration with the Navy dudes. I knew some junior navy officers that were making up to 1 million Naira weekly working side by side MEND.

OPC and MASSOB don't have money!

Boko Haram- Three possibilities.
*If Boko Haram is Local Politics then it is sponsored by Northern Politicians especially old military Generals.
*If Boko haram is[b] Religious[/b] then it is sponsored by the same folks sponsoring Al Qeada- Arab Sheiks.
*If Boko Haram is International politics, then it is sponsored by Iran, same way they sponsor Hezbolla. Remember the Iranian truck load of weapons         intercepted at the ports?? Their goal- Cause a war in the Nigeria to Distract America's military focus!! Nigeria supplies 25% of all American Oil imports.

MASSOB has no stand in the society patapata.

GEJ is paying MEND and partial paying OPC for support.

adding that the group has popular support in the north.

“Poor people are tired of the injustice, people are crying for saviours and they know the messiahs are Boko Haram.

“People were singing songs in [northern cities] Kano and Kaduna saying: ‘We want Boko Haram’,” Qaqa said, describing how the group can blend into the communities in which it operates.

Boko Haram vows to fight until Nigeria establishes sharia law | World news | The Guardian

If [security forces] are going to places of worship and destroying them, like mosques and Quranic schools, you have primary schools as well, you have secondary schools and universities, and we will start bombing them."

Qaqa said Shekau and others had travelled to Saudi Arabia for training and funding. "Al-Qaida are our elder brothers. During the lesser Hajj [last August], our leader travelled to Saudi Arabia and met al-Qaida there. We enjoy financial and technical support from them. Anything we want from them we ask them."

A recent UN report said weapons from Libya may have been smuggled to Boko Haram and al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb via Chad, Niger and Nigeria.

He added that his group which has killed almost 1,000 people in Nigeria, will continue its campaign of violence until the country is ruled by sharia law.

“We will consider negotiation only when we have brought the government to their knees,” Qaqa said in the group’s first major interview with a western newspaper.

In this write up Boko Haram and Mend.
OPC talks that is it. nothing but noise, boasting and shooting the air.
MASSOB is peaceful. they talk too but do not boast.
neither opc or massob are violent at least not on the extent of boko haram or mend.

Forget massob, we know ralph as their leader, opc has gani adams and dr fasheun leading them, mend feed by extorting oil companies, illegal crude vandalisation and kidnapping, and at least we know some of their leaders. But boko haram is a different ball game that president jonathan is treating with kid gloves, and i strongly believe their sponsors are for now local politicians, those are angry with the zoning arrangement of the presidency, and their motive are ethno-religious, ethnic in the sense that, the north is angry with the south with their president and with their religion of the west. That's my submission.

IBB and associates and other ex military in the north are behind Boko Haram. Hence the ease of access to arms.
Saying they were trained in Yemen is BALDERDASH.Those links with Al quaeda are not strong.Boko haram is a continuation of the 70's madness 'Mai tasine'.People change but the spirit still remains.

MASSOB is d most matured and a non-violent movement, sponsored by it's members especially Biafrans in exile as the prefer to call themselves, with US diasporans contributing d largest.
The order of maturity is:
MASSOB
OPC
MEND
BOKO HARLOTS

I believe boko haram is partially like corruption.an issue that started small but spiralled out of control due to poor leadership.
OBJ brought Festival of black arts to Nigeria(FESTAC) and increased the demonic residents in Nigeria. From Mai tasine to Zango kataf to Jos crisis: is a trail of blood by lusting evil spirits they now are using BH as they are pawns on the chessboard of violence in Nigeria.

I think i agree with these, BH is being sponsored by by northern elements who looted this country dry. The North have no business being poor because they have governed this country for over 35yrs and apart from that 65% of monthly Federal allocation goes to the North as the have more number of states and far more number of Local governments. That is why i feel CBN Governor is a mad islamist by his recent comments, it is no business of the South if North have chosen poverty as against prosperity, or illiteracy as against western education.

hello fellow nairalanders. i greet una. i will like to make it abundantly clear to all who care to listen that boko haram receives much patronage from the leaders of the north. notable leaders like Atiku, Ibb, Ciroma. etc. for me as far as i am concerned Fulanis do not have the well being of this country at heart. they are self seeking. but thank God that other regions of this country are beginning to understand the dynamics of politics in Nigeria. they have failed because fulani emirs no longer hold the ace, they are beginning to realise this so they thought the way out of this is to encourage insurgency . but unfortunately as it seems they are worse in for it cus they have lost relevance. my final word of conclusion is, lets divide nigeria we southerners have no business whatsoever with the recalcitrant north. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
