These guys no sabi American investors/ club owners.. They are very indifferent and absolutely don’t care what the fans think.. It would take months of boycott and intense protest for any American owner to sell their club.

I think this aspect is an indictment on the Greater Manchester Police not entirely on the Glazers. The Police (GMP) had credible intelligence report that there is a planned protest of this magnitude yet they did not provide any cover. Infact it took hours before we started seeing police officers.

The Glazers are the ones whose property is in jeopardy. They are the ones who employ the stewards, and who could have employed more stewards to secure the place.

The police have a share in the blame but securing the stadium is primarily a job for the stadium management.

Maybe they should have considered protesting just for a few hours before match time, then allow the game to go ahead. Do this every match day at OT, and you will be taken seriously.

Also, they need the right people to back/support them. The Glazers won’t be moved by protests and picketings. Money will move them, they will sell at the right price.

That appears to have been the plan until they someone found an unmanned and unlocked door at the Disabled Entry area. Entering the pitch was just a fluke occurrence.

I agree but the area is still regarded a public area especially when there is legit intelligence that about 10K people are planning a protest. A protest of 10K people should get the GMP’s antenna going, worsestill with the COVID-19 restriction/ lockdown in the UK.

This one did not really turn violent. The protesters literally just luckily found a door unlocked and walked through. The way crowd control is done at Old Trafford the police are outside the grounds and and do not man the doors while the stewards are at the doors and gates.
The police mainly sit on their horses and in their cars outside the stadium and a few also mix with the crowd milling outside to maintain peace.

There were not enough stewards at the grounds today and that is why the fans got through. The Glazers decided to maintain a skeletal screw of stewards today like they have been doing since fans stopped coming for matches. Probably to cut costs. There was no breaking and entering involved, just an unmanned entry point.
