Rafael was too eager to impress, he still did ok. I was surprised Hernandez played no part even without a recognized striker on the pitch, not good signs for him!
Tom Cleverley did really well to me, he was very willing to get on the ball. it was unlike him...

Our 3 back men were very comfortable today. The worry came in the 2nd half when we appeared to have four men at the back, and as Galaxy pressed to reduce the tally.

his captain should be one who will command a regular shirt week in week out. I don't think Fletcher or Carrick will do that if we sign another CM/CDM

That's LA Galaxy! I'm talking of the Epl.

On the bright side, the pre-season seems to be shaping our pretty nice; unlike the moyes era where we had diffiulty getting results even at far away asia.

the only let down will be obvious lack of experience, and Smalling is not too comfortable in possession but has enough pace that's why I think he should be in the middle of the three CBs.

Guys, relax.
They only recently started this 'alien' system.

And they've had just abt 4 days of training.

As time goes on, they'll get more used to the system.
It's no use passing verdicts already based on the above.

and every man & his dog know whoscored are crap when it comes to compiling assist charts. they do not give assists for a player that wins penalty for his team. you should stop arguing & use your own logic. young had more than 1 assist in the premier league last season.

i am not a fan of a striker getting the armband. someone who can see the whole of the pitch during the game should be getting it. a defender or a goalie should get it but it's so bad none of those is experienced enough.

between rooney & RVP, RVP deserves it 1000 times more. rooney acted like a traitor(twice)!!!

I'm not for Rooney for the reasons you stated above.
I'm thinking Carrick when he returns from injury.

the captain should be johnny evans but i am not sure he's vocal enough. de gea is too new to get it. evra could have been the most suitable player. valencia is too stüpid to be a captain. young is hated by most, mata & kagawa are too new.

I think it's too early to say this with any certainty.
Remember this was LA Galaxy. We shouldn't be getting ahead of ourselves. Sure Herrera looks the baller, but he hasn't proved himself to me where it matter most, the EPL. We will still need him in some way or the other.(Carrick)

RVP should get it!

Why not try David De Gea?
He has some stature of some sort given he was our best player last season. I think that is exemplary leadership even theough we had a horror season.
Plus the old timers (minus Rooney Fletcher and Carrick) that would have been in contention for the band are no longer around.

It would be interesting, though I think van Gaal would prefer loyal and experienced folk as his captain.

I think RVP being captain will do nothing to heal the apparent rift between Rooney and himself.
But I may be wrong o. Just my opinion
