i still get goosebumps watching solskjaer's goal. my mom chased me with a long cane after i shouted like a raving lunatic. it was one of the best nights of my life. i shouted so hard i lost my voice for 3 days.
My own peeps banned me from watching TV after that game for like a month.
They almost chained me to the wall following that reaction. I didn't even get to see us lift the tophy because of the pandemonium following the winner.

coded01: The Chile international says his future is still unclear, but dismissed the possibility of moving to Old Trafford.

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has ruled out a move to Manchester United. grin tongue grin

"I don't know if I will stay at Juventus. I'm happy here in Turin," he told Sky Italy. "I will talk with [new coach Massimiliano] Allegri on Monday. I'm not going to Manchester." grin tongue grin

The Turin side has previously insisted it does not want to be parted with its stars, Vidal and Paul Pogba, but warned a large bid would have to be considered.

"Our strategy is clear; we want to keep all our best players, including Vidal and Pogba," club director Pavel Nedved told Tuttosport. "We don't want to sell anyone, especially Vidal. Certainly, if there were a high bid for them, we'd have to think about it but we don't want to sell our champions. We want to be competitive in the Champions League and the only sales are to be players who are not part of our plans.

Reports reaching me says he rejected because Man Utd won't play in next season's UCL or even the less glamorous EUROPA League... grin grin grin
No because he is going back to Italy to discuss his future. Why not ask, will you sign 4 Utd?

Ask him maybe he goes to Liverpool? grin

Even if Man United were to play against Okomu oil FC, Carrick cannot give the performance Herrera gave last night. You saw that guy control balls under tight marking and in difficult situations. Even when the pass to him is bad, he quickly makes the ball his 100%. When our players looked like running into problem whether in the middle or attack, they turned to Herrera. When he was in midfield we saw Scholes. When he drove forward we saw Silva.

You may be right that its too early to judge, but I don't know how such abilities can disappear from him. Remember, we had Rooney, Mata, Kagawa on the pitch.

It still does not negate the fact that it is still a pre-season friendly and not much should be read into performances.

August 16 is less than a month from now. We will see what he is really made of.
I am not doubting Herrera's quality. i am only saying he has to bed in to the style of play in the Premiership, and we know that the Spainards in general take time before coming into their own when it comes to the Premiership.
LA Galaxy will struggle to beat Burnley FC.

Your last line spoilt it.

Don't we struggle against Burnley? But it is shocking the way many guys here have been writing off L A Galaxy. Some said it's only Galaxy. This is same Galaxy I saw their preseason last Summer.

Now let me open people's eyes. L A Galaxy are renowned for playing grade a friendly where opponents feature full strength teams. They have a good record against European teams. 8 wins, 14 draws and 6 losses. They have only lost twice to English teams out of 5. The first was against Chelsea in 2007. I haven't checked the comprehensive results but see recent results below:
..................

2013 International cup.

Real Madrid 3 Galaxy 1
Isco, Benzema (2)

Juventus 1 L A Galaxy 3

L A Galaxy 0 A C Milan 2
.....................

2012
Galaxy 1 Spurs 1 (Bale)

1-5 Madrid. Di Maria, Higuain, Jese among the scorers.
....................

2011
L A Galaxy 1 vs Man City 1 (Balotelli, penalty)

City won 7-6 on penalties after Hart heroic display.

City: Hart, Richards, Clichy (Kolarov 46), Lescott, Kompany (Savic 61), De Jong, Barry (Weiss 77), A Johnson (Guidetti 82), Silva (Wright-Phillips 46), Balotelli (Milner 31), Dzeko (Suarez 88)
....................

All this one is just one of your hocus pocus stylee.

L.A. Galaxy is not the same force they were two years ago.
That's all I have to say to you.
if you are bringing a result that occurred several years ago to validate your point, good luck to you.
I repeat, Burnley FC will give LA Galaxy a run for their money.
If by your logic, we struggle with Burnley and then beat the Galaxy 7-nil, then

Meanwhile before you start churning out stats that we don't need to use, see this for yourself.
Even the Herrera you are praising isn't getting too excited.

When you said they would struggle to beat Burnley, it sounded like they are a team in same level as Okomu oil. Even if they have weakened, it shouldn't be forgotten they won their last three matches and only last year they beat Juventus. Nowadays, there are no push overs in football.

Why won't I praise Herrera? Carrick won't give that kind of performance even against Okomu oil. When last did Carrick take on an opponent even in Capital 1 cup or Otelu in UCL group stage?
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 12:38pm On Jul 25, 2014
Its just a friendly/exhibition mark na not much should be read into it apart from the fact that the players have been training with different formations and that the level of cohesion is higher than at same time last season.

having said that i have felt for the last 2 seasons that carrick was done and he has done nothing to change my mind.not doubting his intelligence but his snail speed is one of the reasons we find it hard to win back balls in midfield. In this era of great passing teams its not enough to wait for interceptions alone , other times u have to go win the ball and this is where carrick fails.

every time the ball got to our defensive midfield last season we looked like conceeding. I will never forget the way he escorted Amalfitano from midfield to 18yard box at Old Trafford

Like I said,
relax till the season begins.
That wouldn't be out of place, would it?
At least common sense dictates that we should wait till he starts performing at a higher level. Or is the MLS=EPL?

As usual you are spinning this argument and putting words where they do not exist.
I have never compared Carrick to Herrera. So I don't get why you are knocking him. My only posit was that we need not discard him with the ease some of us are already doing on the basis of a friendly with an MLS side.
Unless you don't get what I'm saying, Carrick was never the type of player that Herrera is, and so there is even no basis for comparison.

Fair point.
We know carrick is slowly degrading even though he made EPL team of the season 2012/13.
But to completely write him off because Herrera had an excellent game vs LA Galaxy is rather preposterous in my view.

Macheda was always on fire in the pre-season but never did anything tangible for United. Just a case to say that it's not what you see in the pre-season that will manifest from August -May. But we thought the dude had potential after he saved us vs Villa and Sunderland in 2009.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 12:48pm On Jul 25, 2014
Carrick should be at best a squad player along with Cleverley.
Fellaini should be sold to okomu oil or burnley and Anderson should be locked up in his favourite restaurant kitchen(sure he would love that).

P.s this is no post 7-0 knee jerk reaction....have had these sentiments since last season

We know it's friendly, but it also meant to use for assessing players. Even Scholes felt Lingaard was a good player from last pre-season. I wasn't even confronting Starboard on the preseason issue. He mentioned Burnley, then I had to show him some results. L A Galaxy are even 4th on their league as I read.

At about this time last year when some of us expressed our poor pre-season performance against Asia teams, we were being told it was only friendly. What did we get at the end. Same performance was carried onto the real stage.

yeah you are right.
the jury is still out on herrera in my opinion .
i have hopes but thats it right now... i HOPE he performs.
Wether herrera gels or not however depending on carrick to lead the midfield is a recipe for failure. Both he and cleverley should move to the bench

If you were not ready to talk before you read, you would notice that on points they are 6th overall and 4th in the Western Conference.
But apparently simple logic is deserting you this afternoon.

and how does the fact that they were not the force they were in the MLS have anything to do with whether they were in form or not?

As it stands the Galaxy are in 6th position overall and 4th in the West of the MLS.
If you cannot grasp what that means I'm afraid I cannot help you further.
Whether they have two games in hand is not the issue, because a side who has won only 7 out of 17 games so far doesn't look like a side in form to me and there is no guarantee that they will win those outstanding games.
Can it be that hard to comprehend?

League table is not calculated that way. They are two separate groups, therfore you can't say they are 6th. All the papers and online reports I have read said they are on 4th position.
