MrTA: Few thoughts. Hope Daley Blind can excel for us in midfield like he did for Ajax. daley blind will shine for us. the midfield of herrera, blind, fellaini, anderson, fletcher, carrick & cleverley should be good enough to win us games. we have 35 league games left in the PL & at most 5-6 FA cup games. our schedule is very very light this season.
it was a senseless transfer in my opinion. why sell to arsenal? why not sell him to sunderland or villa? arsenal are our direct rivals & welbeck would have a blinder for them. his style suits the gooners!
it's the best business this summer in the entire europe. we got a world class striker less than what we paid for bebê. if he doesn't work out, we would have lost nothing & he's already selling shirts as we speak. if he works out, we get into top 4, make his move permanent & destroy pitiful teams like chelsea, arsenal, city & liverpool. fingers crossed, strootman & one other defender would join in january.
you nailed it! i would rather waste money on players than watch the glazer dynasty buy another expensive property in america. if we don't spend the money on players, they would spend it in america.
if we can keep our forwards fit & firing, we have one of the scariest attack in europe.
the break couldn't have come at a better time. i checked injury room this morning & we are topping the chart with 10 players. city, chelsea, liverpool added together didn't even reach that number. heard they have ripped up the training pitch at Aon complex for a new pitch. the pitch is contributing to the injuries. 2 weeks should bring about half of the injured players back & then we can rumble. |

What I love most about this falcao deal is that its almost risk free. If he doesn't work out, we send him back Simple. |

4-3-1-2. We will be solid in the midfield with excellent and dynamic passers, overlapping fullbacks offering width and prolific strikers up front. I believe this formation is the best protection for our shaky defense -------------------------de gea--------------------------- ----rafael---------jones-------evans/rojo-----shaw------ ----------------------blind/carrick-------------------------- -------------herrera----------------di maria--------------- -----------------------mata---------------------------- ---------------falcao----------rooney---------------- 2nd team will be -----valencia-------smalling-------evans/rojo-----blackett---- ---------------------blind/carrick-------------------- -----------fletcher----------------anderson---------- ---------------------adnan------------------------ --------------wilson---------RVP-------------------- |

coogar:if selections are on merit, Rooney & Mata will be dropped. if Wilson proves most potent in front of goal, hw should get in the team! I know Rooney is captain & all that, but its just a spade-spade thing. everyone should fight for/retention of his place, & whoever can't stand the competition can fvck off. This is Manchester United |

without bias, who has the best attacking trio in europe when everyone is fit? •aguero + dzeko + jovetic •rooney + falcao + van persie •giroud + welbeck + sanchez •robben + ribery + lewandowski •ronaldo + bale + rodriguez •suarez + messi + neymar •costa + hazard + oscar •sturridge + balotelli + sterling •ibrahimovic + cavani + lavezzi SailorXY: LvG: "Rooney is my captain, he will always be on the pitch." |

afrodoc2: 4-3-1-2. Di Maria in a diamond? I doubt if he would be able to dazzle there. I'd rather have him as an out and out winger,(4-2-3-1) or in the hole (3-4-1-2) |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 10:20am On Sep 02, 2014 |
SailorXY: everyone in the primeFact: Robben is equivalent to VP + Rooney Rooney and VP are average judging by their recent form. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:21am On Sep 02, 2014 |
Dadehmola: Yes he would be better as a winger but remember he excelled as part of a midfield 3 with Alonso and Modric last season at Real so he would be asked to replicate his duties. But for Alonso we have Blind or Carrick and for Modric we have Herrera. I dont have him as a winger because if we use wingers or wing forwards in this team we would have to sacrifice BOTH RVP and Rooney (despite what anybody says the days of either rooney or rvp playing effectively in winger/WF position are long gone) |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:23am On Sep 02, 2014 |
chrisley024: Fact: Robben is equivalent to VP + Rooney Very true. Robben equals those 2. and Falcao might be better than Lewandowski but then u add Ribery and u see it is not a close contest. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by montelik(m): 10:28am On Sep 02, 2014 |
Rooney will start, whatever formations or lineups you guys speculate. make sure to include Captain Rooney. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 10:31am On Sep 02, 2014 |
chrisley024: Fact: Robben is equivalent to VP + Rooney robben isn't equal to VP when everyone is fit. not in robben's lifetime has he possessed the technical quality of VP. VP is a born predator. he will score 10 times before robben will score 3. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:33am On Sep 02, 2014 |
montelik: Rooney will start, whatever formations or lineups you guys speculate. make sure to include Captain Rooney. for sure. rooney is in my formation. one alternative is to drop Mata and play Falcao and RVP with Rooney in Mata's position. Mata plays like a girl, his lack of any kind of strength on the ball is annoying. He has vision but in football your opponents won't just sit on their hands and watch you paint your masterpiece... |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:38am On Sep 02, 2014 |
coogar: This RVP i am seeing is looking like a man on his last legs, i hope i am wrong but it just appears like he is aging before our eyes. Remember one thing remains undefeated.......FATHER TIME |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 10:47am On Sep 02, 2014 |
afrodoc2: his knees are dodgy - he's playing through the pain barrier. if he's fully-fit, he's better than rooney everyday of the week. rooney has no issues at all & yet he's shyte. he had a full preseason, he came back from the world cup early & still he's not firing like he should. van gaal needs to address the rooney problem - he's the reason i feel a bit scared about selling welbeck & loaning chicharito. we lack genuine pace upfront now to call from the bench and do some damage for us. |

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 10:52am On Sep 02, 2014 |
coogar:Unless the injury VP has been nursing is the cause of his drop in form, then, we hope he comes back better after the OP. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:55am On Sep 02, 2014 |
coogar: Yeah but the debate is not on Rooney or RVP. Everyone knows that a fully fit RVP is a better striker than a fully fit Rooney. But i have seen several great players slide into mediocrity at a certain age on the back of "fitness issues"....that is Father Time's calling card. If this RVP issue persists throughout this season that would make 2 WASTED SEASONS, and the clock is ticking....he ain't no spring chicken |

so,i have to ask is RVP still going for the knee treatment or is this some bullshit excuse for his piss poor form ? I doubt any on of our striking trio will be glad to sit on bench. Or is it Mata place that is in danger ? |

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 1:20pm On Sep 02, 2014 |
afrodoc2: RVP is still as good as it gets, his movement to take mata's pass against burnley was top draw. the goalie was lucky to block his shot. he needs time to get past the rustiness. his lack of preseason is why he looks a bit dodgy.
we all saw him at the world cup, he didn't look tired or spent. he scored against spain & brazil. that's as good as it gets. who else does that at his age? RVP's age is a farce - drogba was almost 33 when he won the golden boot for chelsea in 2010. lest i forget, this is for the folks who think united's wage/turnover ratio would hit 90% this year. this is our ins/outs..... *BREAKING NEWS* Aston Villa have an agreement with Manchester United to sign Tom Cleverley on loan. The papers were handed into the Premier League before 11pm last night. If the Premier League agrees the move he will be a Villa player. |
