Three policemen attached to the Igando Police Division, allegedly killed two drivers at a road block for refusing to give them a bribe in the early hours of Wednesday.

The development came less than a week after the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Muhammed Abubakar, ordered that no policeman should mount any roadblock again.

It was learnt that after killing the drivers who were staff of Multiple Covenant Investment Limited, the policemen labeled them robbers.

It was gathered that the victims were on their way to work on a motorcycle and were flagged down by the policemen who demanded money from them but they refused to part with any money.

It was learnt that they were about to speed off, when one of the policemen was said to have opened fire. The bullet perforated the back of the man on the passenger seat and burst out from his front and entered the back of the man who was riding the motorbike.

The victim on the passenger seat was said to have died instantly, while the rider was still alive.

According to reports, in a bid to cover up their crime, the policemen took the corpse and the other victim, who was seriously injured, to their station where they were labeled armed robbers.

come to think of it, why were they trying to speed off. we all know that criminals use motorbikes for robbery these days. they should have waited and stood their ground with the police.
on the path of the police, there are better ways of arresting criminals without killing them. the legs are there to shoot.

IGP sir, give them a "Sparkling white" uniform and you don't change their character/orientation, then you have succeeded in contributing your own quota of "wasteful spending". Police are getting desperate, the high fuel prices and economic situation in the country must mean that motorist are simply unable to pay the bribes that the police use to supplement their meagre incomes.

The best way now to handle policemen is to be poisoning them coolly. They love anything and to get rid of them is to play along and find somehow to poison them. Since their means is to kill with gun, the public should find means of eliminating them.

Since they talk of orderly room trial, nothing come out of it as the policeman will be dismissed from the force and his next point of work is to join Robbery. Any policeman dismissed from the police, will be employed by armed robbers. Why we have deadly robbers is as a result of those trained by the police and dismissed.
